This is by far the most moving story about an intelligent, protective, interesting Silverback called Shabani. This story about Annie is also about her father's love & leadership.
1:59 That moment where Ai pushes her, but then pauses to reconsider her actions, then goes to examine and hold her is very touching. Its like you can see Ai regretting pushing her and goes to comfort her.
I came back to re-watch the story of Annie. SHABANI IS THE BEST DAMN GORILLA FATHER IN THE WORLD. Have you ever seen a silverback step in like Shabani did for his baby girl since Ai rejected her (as a mom, not family member?) I havent! I guess I just needed to good cry of joy today. Thank you Gisel for all the history videos on the gorilla's in Japan.

Gentaro (born in Kyoto City Zoo in Japan, on 12/21/2011) son of Momotaro and Genki was the first infant gorilla in Japan to be raised by humans, then later returned successfully (10 1/2 months later) to his family.
Gentarou was relatively easy as he only returned to his father and mother. Moreover, I think I was very fortunate that my mother, Genki, recognized Gentaro as her son during the artificial childcare. When Genki gave birth to her second son, she seemed to think that Gentaro had taken her son for artificial childcare, and when her second son was born, she never let go of her for 10 months. In the case of Annie, it would have been very difficult to return to the flock.

@@GiselSimon -Shabani of course is so handsome but I always say his sweetness& kindness as a daddy& his playfulness is what makes him my favorite silverback!!!🌻🌼🌻💜😉👯
He is wiser. Watched him reconcile with his son after a hefty fight. Shabani called him over. Hugged him, rubbed his head, held his hand. Shabani wanted things right with him and did it with his love.
After watching this video about Annie I can see why she is a Daddy’s girl. I can understand why Annie acts towards NeNe and her birth mother. Shabani was there from the start to show his daughter he loved her and was there to protect her from the others. So it makes it clear to me why she is always defending her Dad when the others try to team up on him.
This video is well put together. Shabani is the closest looking and behaving human like Gorilla I have ever seen. His actions are so loving and so human. Thanks for the video,I always wanted to see Annie's story from birth. The 2 most loving persons in this group are Ai and Shabani and after that Annie.Nene and her son seem very selfish and spiteful.Did you see how even though Ai didn't recognise Annie as her own she quickly took her in after initially giving her a little shove.
They're not selfish or spiteful. Female gorillas compete with one another for the attention and protection of the silverback. They don't always get along. And Nene didn't recognize Annie as belonging to anyone in the group, so she was merely tolerating Annie's presence, which is common. Obviously Nene is going to back up her own child before anybody else's child, again, normal. It's important not to attribute negative human behavior to these creatures. As much as they share with us, they are still their own species with their own versions of "normal", and for a gorilla, that wasn't out of the realm of normal.....even though it would be harsh behavior in the human world.
I saw a video of Momotaro almost backhanding Kintaro but he stopped himself or was bluffing but my dad would do that to me sometimes! I’m always amazed at these humanlike conditions!
There are only these two next-generation couples in Japan today. If love gives birth to another one, it would be possible for a couple with the youngest child in Kyoto ... Shabani, do your best.
Gentaro of Kyoto City Zoo was born December 21, 2011. He was separated from his mother at 4 days old. He was raised by humans for 10.5 months & then successfully returned to his parents, Genki & Momotaro, who accepted him with open arms. So wouldn't Gentaro be the first gorilla raised by humans & successfully returned to parents?
The story of Annie was written a couple of years ago. At the time that I was doing the research this is how all my resources stated her birth and being raised by humans. I don't know why it was put that way because Gentaro is older than her. I will correct the video description.
@@GiselSimon yours is not the first source I have seen say the same thing. I wondered if there was a technicality in the exact meaning of being "hand raised by humans" & if there was a big difference between how the two were temporarily fostered. Thanks for the info. Love your channel. Best,

Fofinha ANNIE bebezinha Gorila 🐵😀😀😍😍😍😍que fofo o papai Shabani brincando com ela 🐵🐵😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Shabani is a great dad
I absolutely love this video Thank You so much for sharing this❤💚💙💜💛🐵🐒
Thank you very much. Gorillas are such wonderful creatures. It is easy to see them as just "animals" but they are so much more.
That's what Papa's are for ❤
great video Gisel, you've got another subscriber and good luck with your channel! :-)
Ohhh A new subscriber here。。。...
Yay! I watch your videos too!
Thank you for this informative video.
I think this is the defining moment when Nene messes up her relationship with Shabani by attacking Anne... because their interactions have not been the same ...she is now ALWAYS weary of him
Gisel, this is beautifully done.so informative& sweet.thx so much. will watch it over again!😉🐵👯🐇🐇
Thank you so much Lynn, I enjoyed making it. Knowing the whole story and finding the pictures of Shabani watching her was 🤗😍🥰 He is such a good dad.
@@GiselSimon -Shabani of course is so handsome but I always say his sweetness& kindness as a daddy& his playfulness is what makes him my favorite silverback!!!🌻🌼🌻💜😉👯
Shabani is wiser than A LOT of human parents.
He is wiser. Watched him reconcile with his son after a hefty fight. Shabani called him over. Hugged him, rubbed his head, held his hand. Shabani wanted things right with him and did it with his love.
Ohhh thank you for sharing this ❤ I love watching Shabani andbhis Gorilla family.
You're welcome!
Love how protective dad was over Annie!
well done to all you have done a fantastic job with this family
Oh my, my If I were only an adult female gorilla 💞💕🦍💞💕🦍🖤🩶🤍🦍🖤🩶🤍
I’m always amazed at these humanlike conditions!
wow this is awesome as i watch the Gorilla this is amazing thanks so very much love them all
Such a nice informative video. Thank you! Now I understand this family much better. I need to know how the other little one fits in.
Maravilloso gorila que reconoció a su hija y supo darle el sitio adecuado dentro del grupo.💖💖😘😘🤗🤗
Por eso lo quiero tanto.
Good dad Sabani.💗
Thanks for sharing! 😊
Does anyone think Gentaro is perfect partner for Annie😍
Yes, that is what I hope will happen.
🤞😃
There are only these two next-generation couples in Japan today. If love gives birth to another one, it would be possible for a couple with the youngest child in Kyoto ... Shabani, do your best.
Lucky girl to have such a great dad
Best,
I didn’t know that about Gentaro! His little brother Kintaro is something else!
I have read somewhere that Shabani is. Momotaro’s father . That would make sense to me as Momotaro is a very loving young father and step father.
@@jstajoy Momotaro's father was Biju who died before Momotaro was born. Both Gentaro & Kintaro are Momotaro's natural offspring; he is not stepfather to either of them.
What a great story, thank you 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
O man Shabani put his hand over his forehead, he wanted to hold his little girl ,simply adorable ❤️he definitely had patience ❤️
Annie ! she may be a candidate for Gentaro's partner in the foreseeable future.
It is still in the air , though.
Kyoto city has just come to an agreement with a zoo in taiwan so as to proceed a breeding project each other.

Wow, that is big news. Please keep me updated if you can.
