On both sides of the Chanel....The Brunswick Lancers and the BraunSchweiger (18th German Lancers) Wore the same style Skull and Crossbones with Death or Glory. I thought it was disingenuous to use Field Marshal von Mackensen's image (WW1) for the Colonel of the 5th Hussars (1700's).

Something that strikes me is every time there is a cult or society or deep history points of interest regarding 18th century, more specifically around 1800-1850s, times. It's almost like ther have been a reset in history from that point of time where we no longer have "real" data or information about what really happened for sure at that time and beyond.. Skull and bones society was created then, the modern world civilisation as we know it today was essentially started back then, all the basic technology and beginning of our modern science really started to move forward from this point and not earlier.. all the famous scientist that got us to where we are today, like Einstein, Nikola Tesla, Newton and many more are from around that time ish, and it seems ver much to me like much of our history was corrupted from that point and forward.. What do yall think about this? Thanx

The skull and bones have been a military symbol for centuries in many armies of the world and other organizations (not only in Europe). Also in Germany they date back to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. At that time, this symbolism had a different meaning than it is commonly believed. During the Napoleonic Wars, such markings were worn by Prussian troops fighting for liberation from French tyranny. That is why in Germany they were associated as a symbol of liberation.
After the First World War, German tankers began to wear such markings (on the lapels of their uniforms). However, it was not widely known, because the Germans had long concealed the fact that they were creating a tank army. Tankers considered themselves to be the continuators of the Prussian Black Hussars, hence the adoption of their symbols and some traditions. For this reason, they were later often mistaken by the Americans for SS men. Therefore, many tankers were mercilessly abused and killed. There were even attempts (by the Allies) to explain to their own soldiers the difference between tankers and SS troops. Unfortunately, the confusion remained, because apart from the army, the Waffen SS units also fought on the front. They also had tanks units. For this reason, the Allied soldiers did not distinguish between these formations and the bloody battle against the tankers (hereinafter mistakenly identified as the SS) continued until the end of the war.
Hitler, after coming to power, created the SS formation (initially they were to be only a unit of his personal protection). Some two Nazis designed the famous black uniforms for this newly formed paramilitary formation. (It is not true that Hugo Boss invented them. His company only won a government tender to make these uniforms, long before the war.) Designers of these uniforms wanted the SS to make a positive impression and be associated with the former liberating Hussars. Therefore, without asking anyone's permission, they appropriated the Skull and Bones symbol, completely ignoring the fact that it had been used by tank troops for years. Even the army couldn't argue with the SS.

    • @monfort537
      @monfort537 ปีที่แล้ว

All right, except the part with the Prussian Hussars. The German armoured branch never adopted the traditions of the Prussian cavalry. The reason why they had skulls on their uniforms is more related to the Freikorps that put this sign on their AV7 tanks. There is a video of Military History Visualized where Ralph Raths director of the German Panzermuseum at Munster explains the uniform and also the background of the death head.

Symbols are one thing and real life is another. And yes, many people run away in horror when they hear the Arabic "saalam" and so do the Palestinians when they hear the Hebrew "Shalom". Both words mean 'Peace'.
The sign of the cross (Christian symbol of redemption and salvation) for many has become a symbol of annihilation and destruction (e.g. the Crusades affected not only Jews, pagans and Muslims, but also Christians with different beliefs. Therefore, for example, for Orthodox Christians, the "Latin cross" has a different, rather negative meaning than for Western Christians Vietnamese, Chinese and Russians react allergic to seeing stars and stripes.
      Examples can be multiplied.
The Nazis appropriated and used many symbols cynically (isn't the swastika a symbol of peace in Asia?). Regards.

That's the Bonesmen, or "DEKES" (Delta Kappa Epsilon). It used to be the medical fraternity at Yale. Now it's a big party fraternity with members in every field of endeavor. They went coed in 1969 and take only 15 members a year.
There are a ton of conspiracy theories about them. Like they have a catacomb under their frat house full of the remains of historical figures (and a couple of presidents). They venerate the number 322, the year BC the Greek philosopher Demosthenes died. They set their clocks or watches 5 minutes out of time; regular time is called "barbarian standard" (i.e, non-Greek).
George W Bush served as Rush Week Chairman at Yale his senior year, while John Kerry was President of the fraternity.
Kerry supposedly blocked desegregating the frat while he was there, refusing to allow Jewish or Black pledges to join (despite the frat taking such pledges since the 1930s if they were athletes). Which is ironic because his father was a Czech Jew who converted to Catholicism and his paternal grandfather was an Orthodox Jew. His mother was a Forbes and a Protestant. He was raised a Episcopalian. He attended a prep school in Massachusetts that didn't take Catholics or Jews.

Yes. Problem is, the Soviets were not very sensible to those subtleties; for them, any German displaying a Skull & Bones was a SS, even if he was in any Wehrmacht Panzerkorps unit. They saw Waffen SS troops everywhere, even in places where they had never been, and often regular HEER Panzer crews paid the price needlessly. No one cared much. After all, my Ukrainian Wife's Grandmother was a nurse in the Soviet Army and recounts that if receiving German wounded they allways finished them with air injections, that kill instantly by stopping the heart.
Nowadays in Ukraine it's the Snipers, that if captured are killed on the spot by both sides, and this is ongoing since 2014. Artillery man often have one finger cut as reprisal, and if you're in the Infantry they will at the very least beat the crap out of you, and more than once. My Stepson, Father of two, is currently fighting in the Ukrainian Army and told me all this. He was drafted in 2010, discharged in 2011, then mobilized again in 2015 on the very day his son was Baptized... now I can only pray for him to survive. 🇵🇹💪🇺🇦 🙁

The Belgrano was sunk long after Argentina's initial attack and invasion of the Falkland Islands and the British garrison there on April 2. It wasn't sunk until the 2nd of May long after hostilities had commenced in serious. South Georgia had been retaken by force, an Argentinian submarine put out of commission and several air attacks had occurred by both British and Argentinian forces. On top of that the Captain of the Belgrano admitted in 2003 that he was NOT trying to steam out of the "exclusion zone" but was instead, maneuvering to find British ships to sink, AS ORDERED. Your description of the Belgrano as a "neutral" ship is utter and dishonest propaganda bullshit!

The skull and crossbones were just symbols of intimidation, not "hate." That symbol, along with the swastika, goes back to the centuries Before Christ when the German tribes invaded India and brought Hinduism with them. Those symbols are still found all over India as well as in archeological sites of the ancient Greek civilization. Theologically, the skull and crossbones and the swastika are considered paganistic symbols. Nazism was a resurrection of paganism in Germany which was intended to supplant Christianity in the lives of the people. Nazism, like marxism, is totally anti-Christian.

The one used by the panzer troops was of a different design and was adopted from the black hussars of pre imperial times to give a sense of antecedence to what was then a very new arm of the German military. This will give an overview of God s strange design, that is to say the Creator joining with mankind via the spirit, taking mankind as his counterpart known as the mystical bride of Christ
And finally (if HL is not too wearied) from Zechariah in the Old Testament:
"The heavens were made for the earth
      Earth was made for man
Man was made with a spirit
The spirit was made for God"
This is the meaning of life

"he gave his only begotten Son" - and who did God give his son to? To himself. Why? Because God had a weird blood sacrifice fetish?

A pointer to another programme...the reason for swastika devices appearing on Finlands military vehicles including planes and how very far East tribes of indigenous peoples were lured to the German side purely by the use of the swastika symbol. Did both the Ku Klux Klan and native Amercan nations use the salute of the outstretched arm? There is extant a large copy of Mein Kampf produced in Braille and perhaps a good discussion of the Hitler Youth Banne B and G which deployed German blind and deaf young people along with another provocative anomaly that the leader of the BDM was both an unrepentant Nazi who survived the war and a lesbian. Certain high ranking officers in the SS were gay.
