thank you sir. number five was something I've been looking for for a long time. It looks very much like the way a working man in the 1920s would wear a scarf. And it was that simple.

The neckerchief is light cravat territory which is good. Puts me in mind of David Essex in 'The River' series. They don"t make em like that anymore!

Number 4 at 5:40 is how my great grandfather from Wales wore his silk scarves. I don't think he had a proper "cravat", he just wore silk scarves as cravats with open necked shirts, jumpers etc. He was always very particular about his clothing and his handmade brogues. A very dapper little man with jet black hair, very dark complexion.

I noticed that there's a rather nautical connection to wearing neck wear. You see that in the US Navy uniforms and any old sailor costume would feature some kind of scarf, cloth, bandana on or around the neck. Of course it served a rather practical purpose of protection against the sun, wiping sweat or other dirt and debris and for signalling if necessary. It makes sense that it would migrated into other branches of military uniform like you see with the US cavalry, military police, and other units.

Hello Ash, I so happen to also love scarfs; I own 12; silk, polyester, suede and cotton / rayon. I just love neck wear and I gladly adopted the British style; most 1960's rock bands from that country who I absolutel adore; Mick Jagger, Steve Winwood, Steve Marriot, Rod Stewart, Jimmy Page, etc, etc, etc. I love those guys. Stewart Granger was a known cravat wear and he looked good in it too.

Thanks ash for introducing Soho scarves. I just recently their bohemian neckerchief which has modal. I like to where it on the outside of the collar if I’m wearing a shirt with one. I find a scarf a bit to much in the warmer season even if it’s light weight. The neckerchief can double as a headband I found. I hope I can wear it to any trips I have this summer.

Ash, as always, thank you for your help. I’m not sure why it was sent to me, but I received a 90x90 mm. imitation silk scarf some months ago perhaps from China via Amazon. I’d never thought it’d be something I could wear, but following your directions, I dutifully tied it in a loose tie knot ‘round my neck, and I think it looks great! I’ll definitely give SoHo’s site a try as well. All the best!

Hello Ash, an interesting one this time.
    Cravat, yes for sure.
Long flowing summer scarf, hmm not so sure...
The thing is you would look good wearing a bicycle chain around you neck and a fruit box on your head.
Still I might give it a go, I can always say I arrived in my Spitfire, Tally Ho !

No4 looks ace Ash. Other ways of wearing it need some investigation... I do like the idea of a nice cool piece of silk around the neck when hot. I'm wondering whether something 'quieter" when left flapping outside though! cheers again.

Silk scarfs are more commonly associated with women these days, however when I checked out Soho from another video of yours I fell in love with the small repeating pattern scarf as it looked just like the small repeating pattern on a tie. It certainly looked masculine There is a new younger co-worker at my place that does not wear anything close to a suit but he does love long coats and scarfs; it is nice to see.

Especially in the heat of July and August, I find it useful to wear a light silk scarf around my neck, which provides my outfit with a splash of colour and visual interest, but does not necessitate that I wear my shirt with the top button done up. I find the texture of a silk scarf beautifully compliments the light, open weave of a linen shirt and linen trousers as well. Top things off with a Panama hat, and you've got a look that elevates you above most of the men you will encounter on the street.
