Ever have one of those weeks where everything just feels off? Anxiety hit hard, concentration flew out the window, and after four years of working night shifts from home, I felt more isolated than ever. My wife’s on a day shift and onsite, so we barely cross paths, making it even harder. But on Friday, after crashing post-shift, I decided to drop by her office to share what I was going through. Just seeing her lifted my spirits, and suddenly, the weekend didn’t seem so bleak.
We started planning a getaway for the long weekend but, well... that didn’t quite pan out. Instead, I ordered some comfort food-chicken noodles and fried rice-and we had a cozy night in, chilling on the sofa and catching up on TV. She crashed early, and I dove back into work.
Saturday morning, my wife had an idea: 'Let's lift the mood with some Kolkata-style chicken biryani and chaap!' So, we headed to Sorse in Whitefield, Bangalore. Let me tell you, that biryani-with its signature potato-hit the spot. It’s true what they say, happiness does start with a happy belly. We wrapped up our pre-weekend adventure with a quick shopping trip to D-mart, feeling a little lighter and a lot more connected.
