- Tarek Fatah, journalist, writer, broadcaster & liberal activist, talks about freedom of speech and religion in the Canadian context today at ideacity 20th anniversary conference in a session called "Democracy & Freedom of Speech vs. Disinformation in the age of Surveillance". He provides insights on the press, politics, and current events in Brampton, Mississauga, and around the world, from Charlie Ebdo to the Quebec ban on hijabs.
Tarek Fatah is a columnist at the Toronto Sun and author of two award-winning books, ‘The Tragic Illusion of an Islamic State’ and ‘The Jew is Not My Enemy’. He is the founder of the Muslim Canadian Congress, a group of secular Muslim Canadians committed to a separation of religion and state, fighting the spread of Islamism, anti-Semitism and Hindu hatred inside the Muslim community.
A recipient of both the Queen’s Golden and Diamond Jubilee medals, Fatah was a student leader in the 1960s and 70s, twice incarcerated by successive military dictatorships and had to leave the country in 1978 to escape a third military ruler.

First of all the charge that tabrez the young man was a thief is pure lie just justify the crime of murder. He was a hard working young man who had a job in pune and used to travel to jharkand to visit his family. Even if he was a thief was that the way to beat him. The poor man was tied to a pole and beaten for hours and hours the whole night. When he begged for water the monsters gave him juice from the poisonous datura plant. Then they took him to the police station where he was falsely charged for theft and imprisoned instead of taking him to the hospital by the corrupt evil police who did not even allow his family members to see him. They begged the police to send him to hospital but they were insulted and scolded. Finally in the last hours he was transported by a slow vehicle during which he succumbed to his injuries thanks to his killers. What a tragedy. Imagine the state of his very young wife bearing his child. She is half insane with grief and shock. Now let's come to the religious part. If these murdering evil bastards were not Hindus why did they force tabrez a Muslim to chant j'ai shri ram and j'ai hanuman. These are your fucking gods not his. If he was a thief why make him chant the name of Hindu gods knowing very well that he was a Muslim. This shows how hateful and evil you Hindus are. How you hate the Muslim.
