i just got a 1k myself. i can do everything the 1k can do and more in a DAW but the reason i got it was for the more physical workflow. it makes beatmaking feel more like playing an instrument. plus MPCs can give your beats a great sound. maybe look into the 4k and see how it compares? i hear a lot of people go for the 4k over the 5k

Thanks for the feedback. For now I got a mpk mini it's only got 8 pads and at first I thought it wouldn't matter but it does make me miss the 16 pad bank from the m-audio trigger finger. I definitely know what you mean by improving your work flow using the pads like an instrument. Maaane these days I'm just happy when I find a sample that hasn't been used. That's what really gets me hyped these days. And once I got that cut you can't stop me!!!!!! Btw love talking to fellow producers

The song is One One by Moka Only. The beat was credited to J Dilla, but I was informed that Moka had falsely credited Dilla on another beat in this mix, so it's possible it's not. The drums don't sound like something Dilla would do
