Great video but you should have shown off the armor trims using one set of armor and one color so the differences in trim were easier to see. Whenever you used chainmail I wasn't really sure what I was looking at

_Getting_ the armor trims was so much more fun than the trims themselves because it finally gave me an incentive to explore my world. The only one that gave me trouble was the stupid Ward trim (had to check 5 ACs, died multiple times to the Warden) but overall it was a fun experience. Thanks for the guide sir!
There’s only a 2% chance to find a silence trim in any AC chest so that’s extremely lucky. Nevermind, 1.2% you could also just duplicate the trims by the way
Oh I thought you meant use them instead of diamonds for the duplication recipe but yeah I gues it would be cool, but also then maybe the prismarine items should be usable too imo.
Some of the trims should give you micro benefits. Not much because it's meant to be for looks but just a little. Coastal armor trim should 2 seconds of respiration to the 15 you have without enchantments. Silence should reduce mobs seeing you by a block or 2 and so on. Not much to you choose one over the other but I think it would be cool.
As somebody who hasn't bothered with armor trims yet, I was under the impression that's what they did. So these are all just for looks?? Wow, that's kinda lame

Meanwhile those who are, are free to customize their armor however they like instead of feeling pressured to use the "best" armor trim cause it gives +0.5 defense which lets you survive 2 more creeper blasts or summin
@daveweisbrich1768 Also, diamonds are more common than you think if you mine in the deepslate layers, and it pays to have a fortune 3 pickaxe when mining them to maximize the yield, so assuming you're doing one or both of those, you'll have plenty if diamonds to duplicate the trims, and you only have to worry about finding the first trim of a set, choosing which color you want foe the trim, and ideally putting mending and unbreaking 3 on your armor so the trim lasts.

For example, the chance of getting an armor trim from 3 guardians is about 48.8%, not 60% (if each one has a 2ö% change of dropping it). For the future, to get legitimate odds of finding rare items the equation is (odds chance of NOT finding item) ^ (times the item is farmed) For example, to find a Tide trim from 1 monument is 0.8^3=0.512 which means if you kill 3 elder guardians you have a 51% chance of NOT getting the item drop
I've been looking for the Silence trim for almost two months now. I've searched the entirety of almost 30 ancient cities, and opened several hundred chests, and haven't found a single one. How on Earth can I be this unlucky? Update: 37 ancient cities, hundreds of chests, and several weeks later, I finally found it while mining skulk for XP.
I ended up finding a Silence armor trim in the very last chest of my first ancient city (which was only 300 blocks from spawn) but I haven't found a Ward armor trim in that, or the 2nd ancient city I raided on my world so far

When comparing one thing to another, use the ONE base set of armor, so they can be compared equally between the patterns. Switching armors eaach time makes it hard to actually get a good comparison.
For those playing console versions with worlds that pre-date the bedrock conversion, chunk base will Not work or help you! So heres what you can do in trying to locate some of these structures. Copy your survival world, then enable cheats in the copied world, and just preform the locate biome or structure command, and the game will give you the coordinates to the closest thing you are trying to find, wether its a Trail Ruins or Ancient City, you can write these coordinates down and take them back to your original/non copied world, it will only give you one location at a time to the closest available structure/ biome you are searching for, so what that means is to get a different location of the same biome or structure you might have to travel quite a distance and then try the locate commands again, hopefully bringing you to a different structure/biome and not back to the same one you already searched through, hope this helps console players I did this experiment where I located an Ancient City, I went through every chest and there it was in the last chest, Silence! And I Marked its exact location, then I went back to my main save file and went back to these exact coordinates but above ground and I dug a hole straight down until I landed right ontop of it! And flew right back out! Then i went to a Trail Ruins that was completely underwater and the second trim that was uncovered was the last that i needed, the Wayfinder trim!

I would probably grab the Shaper Armor Trim just to use on my Chestplates as World War Two German Infantry Uniforms made with Dyed Leather Armor. There should be a Way to Color the Trim similar to Dying Leather Armor where the RGB Values change depending on which Colors you put Together. Maybe even include more Color Choices like Cyan by using a Heart of the Sea and Dark Green by using Enderpearls as well, Not sure what you'd use for Colors like Light Grey though, but it would be nice to have a Somewhat Similar Color System for the Trims.
There are 4000 different armor possibilities, but there’s actually tons and tons more. There are 12 million different possible combinations of dyed leather armor plus every possible enchant you can have on the armor
Kinda wish they would add a base color changing ability so you can build netherite armor and change the base color with ores then add the armor trim with a different ore on it.

I somehow managed to find the Sentry Armor Trim in my first Pillager Outpost, the Rib Armor Trim in my first Nether Fortress, and the Spire Armor Trim in my first End City on my survival world.
Last month me and my friend decided to torture ourselves, we got every armour trim, put them on full sets of netherite with diamond trims and made a huge display room

On my first world coming back to Minecraft (the world I’m playing on now) which happened to be on this update, I found the smithing template on my very first bastón I wasn’t even looking for it and didn’t know what it did I thought netherite was the same but then later on, I found the rib armor trim on my very first nether fortress lol.

The armer trim had weekend the chance for upgrading diamond armer to netherite armer. I updraded wars armer trim with an netherite ingot. But, the armer burned in lava and it is a big loss.
Finally! Now I can fully deck out my leather armour with Netherite trimming!

I very much so agree. Chainmail is not a solid background and so gives terrible contrast with the trim

My favorite is the tide. It took 5 guardians but I finally got it.

Worthy note with the elder guardians, having a 20% chance for each does not mean there is a 60% chance of getting one. It would be closer to 50/50
The only one of these Id change is the Wild trim. I think it'd look better and be more unique if it had more of a spotted texture to it

I only opened 20 ancient city chests and found both ward and silence armor trims
