Nice video, very informative.👍 I want to install a quaife ATB in my ib5 box, I assume that this is the same process to reach the differential. Obviously if there's a quicker way then let me know.👍
@@paddy145214 Oh my so sorry I didn't see this! 2yrs ago. Whoops. I would hope you'd found the answer to that question by now but the answer is yes. All the best from 2 years ago!😂
@@hbolton9213 Hi bud, sorry just seen this. If I remember rightly I think I wacked it off with a big flathead and a hammer. It was a long time ago I struggle to remember fully other than it was a barstard. Hope you got/get it sorted!
Quick question buddy soon I plan on replacing my gearbox. Does the gearbox take 2 difrent oils one for axels and and one for the inside gears or is it the same
Hello friend! How are you? Congrats for the videos. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷 If you don't mind ask, I would like to know if it is possible to swap the ib5 gearbox (from a ford focus 1.6 sigma 2012) for mtx75 gearbox (from a ford focus 2.0 duratec 2009), both are the same platform. Is It possible, like plug n play or does it need complex adjustment? Hope you can give some hint, and congrats for your work
Hello! Thanks! I'm sure you can do this but I believe you may need a special plate to be able to bolt it on as the bolt holes are if different locations. I haven't looked into this too much but I know it can be done. Hope this helps!
Where are you from? It is so hard to understand you! Your accent is so thick... Anyway, good video. I am building Ford Puma rally car and I need to do almost the same thing - not rebuild, but I want to install a different final drive and Helical LSD. One question - where did you get IB5 gearbox instructions?
I'm sorry you struggled to understand me, must have been a long night previous 😂 I have made a manual a long while ago. You're more than welcome to view it. Hopefully this helps. drive.google.com/file/d/1aFJG7RrI_NW6anLFYNKrprtITloZRTj1/view?usp=drivesdk
Hi, yes I did at the time when I was taking it apart. I was using some prints off on Ford Etis to kinda guide me. Think I purchased it on Emanuals online. It was a while ago I got it. It covered every Fiesta from 2002 onwards I believe. Next time I'm in the garage I'll take a snapshot of my printout for you if it's any help. I can't find the link for the actual manual.
My IB5 is starting to die after 141k miles, think it's the planet gears. How much did it cost you part wise, as people are quoting up to £800 others saying whack a new clutch plate in as well.. it's not a cheap thing!
At the moment the gearbox is where I have left it so I haven't purchased new parts yet as I have recently moved into a bigger garage. I was quoted around the £200 mark from a gearbox specialist around my area to do mine but I thought I would try myself and learn something.
@@spontaniouscombustion4379 fair play, if you got tools and a guide then crack on. Got offered £400 to do it, looking at the Helix Clutch Drive Plate even though the other ford has 30k odd miles in it.. guess it's a 1/3 used. After just oil and petrol for years.. a big cost was gonna come sooner or later.
@@spontaniouscombustion4379 many thanks, but I rather pay someone to crack on and do it for me. Juan would appreciate it I guess! How comes you went to recon your GB anyway?

Hi thanks for the link..
I am attempting to assemble a box I did not disassemble...
Just wondering, you haven't posted an assembly video??
Mate I need to know how you got that big circlip off the back of the shafts. Currently having a very bad time with mine.

New clutch pack for my car (ST150) also came in at around £200.
