That’s Marley flooring, not paint. Marley is a vinyl or linoleum flooring that’s rolled out in sections & secured to one another w taping that gives an appropriate smooth, flat surface for dancing, whether it be pointe shoes or soft shoes for ballet, bare foot for modern or contemporary, soft shoes for jazz or contemporary, tap, Irish dancing, Russian dancing, character dance, etc. It’s also used in gyms and other types of venues for other reasons, but you’ll mainly find it used in dancing and theater. Not only does Marley flooring give the correct surface for dancers or for use in theatre that’s smooth and flat, but, the surface allows for you to glide and move appropriately, while also has some grip to it so you don’t slip and bust your arse by falling! It also protects the theatre or studio flooring underneath - which is raised and slightly sprung and *VERY EXPENSIVE!!* When I say sprung flooring in terms of dance & the theatre flooring, it’s not the same as sprung flooring as they use in gymnastics! Ballet, dance & theatre sprung flooring is not the same as the sprung flooring in gymnastics! Ballet, dance & theatre flooring is raised and sprung for the protection of dancers/performers joints, spine & all around body as a shock absorber. While the sprung flooring doesn’t propel dancers/performers into the air like a gymnastics sprung floor, there is a little bit of a give and spring to help facilitate the dancer/performer in their jumps & leaps, but not very much. Dancing/performing on regular, standard flooring is incredibly hard on the body, esp the joints, leg bones, hips & spine and is actually dangerous, esp when it’s repetitive & you’re dancing on it every single day, all year round, year after year! Concrete flooring or marble flooring (or other flooring similarly as hard) is absolutely dangerous and really should NOT be danced on!! Theatres have raised & sprung flooring permanently built into their stages to accommodate ballet, other dance & theatre performances. But when you’re in a studio, there’s usually some type of regular, standard flooring as a base and then you add on the raised, sprung flooring on top of that, then roll out, lay and tape the Marley on top. Proper raised, sprung flooring that’s of good quality is actually very expensive! It can also be replaced in both studios and theatres and this does happen bc the raised, sprung flooring does deteriorate or start to go in some places as it ages bc of the wear and tear. YES, my words exactly. That's not some fragile little flower. That's some badass young lady that could kick some ass. 😎👍 I used to dance classical and latino dances for a year or two and even that was sweaty sometimes (jive can be hard 😄) . I can imagine how big exercise it must be to dance THIS for one hour. And later few more hours per week (if not daily) at home.
If you ever want to see this dance performed on a better level than this, then go to Cleveland Ohio for their Irish festival, the women there make thos girl look like an amateur forreal, they blew me away with their individual and team dancing!

She is really talented!! I love how she has no movement with her arms, they are always at her side, amazing! That is hard to do, a person's natural response to doing most of those dance steps especially the leg lifts, would be to raise your arms. She is definitely gifted at her craft!!
For me the difficult part isn’t my arms lol. When I dance I go into “dance mode” where I can just keep my arms down naturally and focus on my feet. The most difficult thing she did in my opinion was the toe stands.

I used to dance classical and latino dances for a year or two and even that was sweaty sometimes (jive can be hard 😄) . I can imagine how big exercise it must be to dance THIS for one hour. And later few more hours per week (if not daily) at home.

She is really talented!! I love how she has no movement with her arms, they are always at her side, amazing! That is hard to do, a person's natural response to doing most of those dance steps especially the leg lifts, would be to raise your arms. She is definitely gifted at her craft!!
For me the difficult part isn’t my arms lol. When I dance I go into “dance mode” where I can just keep my arms down naturally and focus on my feet. The most difficult thing she did in my opinion was the toe stands.
I would guess core needs to be very conditioned.
