I bought the 141 and 181 to complete my collection. I was lucky enough to get a couple of 071 classes about four years ago 0:15 which I followed with 121, 201 and A classes. From the point of view of filling in my missing class I am very happy to have them. I did think twice about the cost and initially cancelled my pre order. Once I knew they were available and in stock I changed my mind. I agree with the view that they don’t quite compete as well in the modern perspective. I have three A class locos which are still the best Irish models released so far. Whilst small (ish) they have plenty of weight and are far more sturdy. I guess their pulling power is impressive if I remember correctly from your review of them. I have another 201 class on pre order It will be interesting to see how that compares with the previous Murphy release.
Thanks for sharing John. Agree on the A-Class. A super model of an iconic loco and powerful. I'm interested in the new 201s as well though I am waiting for the final details to see which I go for and what that means for my existing fleet.
Great review , for me the addition of the speaker to the model is a great advance on the previous run , Iwould have liked to see rotating axle box covers similar to the ones on the 121 class and A class .
Thanks for that. The rotating axle boxes would have been lovely to see alright though I guess this would have been a bridge too far given the scope of this run. The 121 and A Class are standouts with these from an Irish model perspective.
Good review. I have 3 of the original models. You could factor in the exchange rate with the Chinese Yuan as well as inflation. This will make the increase look more reasonable.
Thanks Keith. Yes, that's was a factor alright. I wasn't sure whether I would upgrade my own fleet to the new model but happy enough I held on to most of the originals I had.
Yeah, which is actually better value than from Rails for example. Both IRM and Marks Models will also ship it post free as well. Marks still have stock.

Great review, they really are lovely models and always a pleasure to run!
Thanks for sharing. Yes, I love give these a run - traveled behind them numerous times in real life.
Awesome to see Murhpy Models running, and still being produced to a high standard. Thank you for your review! :)
Thanks for that.

It's always interesting to see a model of Irish Rail locomotives.
I had the privilege of working on them. In Inchicore railway works
