In 1979 I took Van Halen 1 into the Nun's who were teaching me piano. Me and 4 Nuns listened to Eruption. I was 13. I thanked them and told them I am going to learn guitar now. They all smiled, hugged me and gave me their blessing and told me always follow your dreams. True story. My mother was furious but Sister Mary Daniel paved my road to follow the greatest guitar player ever. Thank you Wolf. I can't thank your dad. Please thank your uncle for changing my life for the good.

His father was not extremely talented - that would be putting it too lightly and understating the reality - his father was of a level of gift, aspiration, focus and ability that puts him way above any kind of talent…he was, I dunno even know what he was….beyond mere mortal - an otherworldly force that possessed a gift and a drive beyond articulation. Wolf can sing his ass off - which ain’t easy - and play his dads shit verbatim along with bass, drums, keys. He is not an innovator like his father was nor will he change the way rock guitar is played for the next 4.5 billion years, nor will he be a composer as good as his Dad…but that’s more than talent
Extremely talented? Not to sound like a hater but his music is stock rock radio music to me. Songs Ive sort of heard already from a dozen other bands in the past. Talented of course... but extreme talent, hell no.

If this doesn't constitute someone being labeled as "extremely talented", I don't know what does! Sounds like a bit of green envy in disguise, perhaps, from these ridiculous comments.

I am just absolutely blown away by just how amazingly talented Wolf is as a musician, and how humble he is about it all. Sees everything as a "we did it as a team" effort...so rare to see in music where huge egos are so dominant. And every time I see him, I get images of Hurley from that Lost series...and that's a good thing because his character was just like Wolf....always looking out for people. :)

EVH knew who Wolfgang was before any of us got to see him. I think EVH wanting Wolfgang to do his music and not be a second generation cover band was so right on so many levels. Many of the original Van Halen fans like myself had no idea what a huge talent Wolfgang was. Eddie knew... he saw it. He was proud and had reason to be. You know Valerie glows when she sees him perform.

He can't be everything to everybody. No body is. The writing is good and so is the music. What do you expect? Valerie struggled with her weight and it looks like he inherited that. I hope he can get over that at some point. I doubt he will live as hard on the road as his dad did. A guy financially set for life has to love what he is doing. He has to feel the pressure from the expectation the name brings. He is doing what he wants to do. He could be doing nothing. I respect him for what he is doing.

Just saw him an Alterbridge in Houston. It was an absolutely amazing experience and the first time I've gotten to really appreciate just how talented Wolfe is. I'd seen him play with his Dad years ago, but this was so much fun. He just shined so bright and jammed his ass off for us all on his birthday I believe as well Haha. Eddie must be smiling down on him, he really is very talented and has such a great personality to boot.

I went to Van Halen concerts a few times in the 70s. Wish I could remember them. The one thing I can remember is Eddie doing a guitar solo for a few minutes by himself. That was always my favourite part.

I haven't played in a band for 25 yrs and I want to start over with a fresh band. I need to buy guitars and a keyboard and then begin getting myself into shape as I haven't played for yrs now. I want to write some new material and keep it fresh and easy goin'. I have many influences from classical music from Bach to Debussy and popular music from Kate Bush, Beatles through country music and on and on. It isn't about millions of views and likes ect but just to connect to younger talented singers and players just to explore and learn something new that I would otherwise miss out on. I should of got started on this 5 yrs ago but right now I only own a really cheap acoustic guitar which is so crappy I can only play open cords...lol. I have a 4 track tape machine just to collect ideas which will go onto becoming songs. I nearly topped myself last yr with a massive overdose and was kind of forced to join a crisis group where I met new people who all had gone through a bad time themselves. There is a guitar group and from here I wanted to form a group to eventually go out and enjoy doing some gigs for support for each other. Everybody can enjoy music and it can be the centre of people coming together for better brighter days ahead. I think music is like the best medicine and I also love dogs and try to raise money for the Dogs Trust. Peace to everybody:)

Wolf's wrong about one thing. He did go to college. Every day he was in Van Halen had to have taught him more than what any college classroom could have. The tunes I've heard from Mammoth so far make me think he went to the University of Good Kickass Music !
