This is pretty dangerous cause your relying on that small shim to hold the fork I’m not convinced

Hey I work at a bike shop. This is actually totally okay to do
So long as your okay with kissing the dirt at 30 mph
My e-bike came from the shop with a straight fork in a tapered frame... I rode it for over 3000 miles and not had any problem.

If the converter is a Crown race pounded onto the steerer tube of the fork I would say it’s legit. Plastic is definitely not great crown race material
Pro tip, use the right fork style for any given frame, not worth the risk/hassle
Don’t do this if you value your face. Get either a reducing lower headset cup and smaller bearing or a legit crown race to increase the bearing size.
So I believe that there are bigger bearings for your headset that can convert from tapered to straight by using consistently shaped holes on the inside of the bearings
Nobody does this because getting a decent straight fork is actually pretty hard to do. Just buy a tapered fork.
This is not how its done completely false thats just a crown raise of a tapered fork but you can get bearings for taper to straight

What if frame is non tapared and fork is tapared what bearing totally fit?
