I didn't need this video, I just wanted to see how good it is. I'm impressed, man. You explained everything concisely. Bonus points for being knowledgeable enough to inform people that they need a cable that supports charging AND data. I noticed that you're using a USB hub. BE CAREFUL with these, because MANY of them will add input lag which you NEVER want. You want the lowest input lag possible. Now, I don't know which USB hub you have or if that particular model has input lag or not, but if it does, you're definitely going to want to plug your controller directly into your PC almost ALWAYS. USB hubs are great for charging multiple devices, but they are notorious for introducing input lag if you're plugged into it with a controller. Regardless, well done my man. You definitely deserve more subs, especially for your production value and professionalism. Good luck my dude.

And you're 100% right about the usb hub thing, not only are you right about the input lag but turns out the usb hub was the reason my controller wasn't connecting to my PC. hey man, do you use a bluetooth adapter on your pc? I was trying to pair my new Xbox Controller using bluetooth my it didn't show up, I firstly tought that it was because it wasn't compatible, but I see that my adapter is BT 4.0 DONGLE 10, and I've seen some stuff there that says that Xbox Series X/S controllers needs BT 5.0

hii!! this probably wont be answered however i just saw this amazing video that you made because i recently got an xbox controller for my pc however im having an issue where i would launch a game on another platform for example forza horizon 5 on xbox app for windows 11 and once launched the game keeps switching from controller to my keyboard and mouse rapidly and im not really sure what could fix it if anyone or you know any fixes on this that would be amazing!!! :D

Thank you for the video! I tried to connect my Xbox Elite Controller to pc and Steam through bluetooth but it wouldn't recognize the inputs probably because I used a generic bluetooth adapter on Amazon and not the Microsoft one. Seeing you use the dedicated Microsoft adapter makes me think I should give it a try and see if it works now.

Thats a little tricky and you're the second person to ask that question so I might make a video about it but long story short if you can really only use the controller for audio through the wired connection. You can also use it through the wireless adapter

What about the headset!? You never mentioned where / how you connect it? I tried and can't connect it into the xbox controller for sound or mic!? I have a new MSI laptop and Razer Kraken 7.1 with a single multi use 3.5MM input (for both speaker and mic) but can't get the mic in the headset to work....thoughts??
Yo so sorry for the late reply, MovieMaker. Okay so what I found was that if the xbox controller is wired up then you will most definitely get sound if you plug it directly into the controller. But if you want bluetooth audio then you have to use the adapter. Let me know if you have any other questions

I like your information delivery so decided to subscribe. Based on your recommendation I purchased an XBOX controller to play my Skyrim game via Steam (I had purchased a PS Dual but got the xbox because its best for PC right...) So, did everything you had in the video and the xbox controller works fine IN STEAM BUT DOES NOT WORK when inside SKYRIM. I am so so so flustered. Have you heard this before, can you address please?
Hey actually I found something that worked that I have not seen you mention in your videos. This is what solved my problem and MAYBE it may help someone else. For SKYRIM ELDERS SCROLLS go the the menu inside the game, the menu you can access while playing the game where you see your Quests, General Settings and SYSTEM. Select SYSTEM and now see your options like 'quicksave'. Scroll down and select 'settings', 'game play'. Here you see a list of options and you will see CONTROLLER. For me this was EMPTY and that's why no matter what I did my controller did not work. When I highlighered/selected this box BOOM, I was GOLDEN! In general I guess that for me this means that, sure do everything the experts like Chukevelli advises and then within you game ALSO make sure that the controller option IS selected. Good Luck.

Hey Ralphitness, maybe try unplugging the mouse and keyboard so that it defaults to controller. Then replug them in once the controller is working. That might help, let me know
The usb c cable isnt included in the box. Where can i snatch a spare usb c cable? Just buy it as is?
I just recently bought the Starfield version of this controller. My intent was to use it via Blu-tooth. It worked ok but wasn't ideal. I also bought the Starfield version of the X-Box wireless headphones. The only way I could get the head phones to work was with a USB cable. They wouldn't connect via Blu-tooth at all.
My next purchase was the wireless controller adapter. The game controller paired with no trouble. For the life of me I couldn't get the headphones to even show up in the device list to pair up.
I was very frustrated then I noticed something. The wireless control adapter was displayed at the bottom of the device list. Once it paired, everything clicked. It's all working perfectly now.
If I use the head phones, the switch to the out put device automatically, When turned off, the sound defaults back to my standard output. All I need now is for Starfield to release.

The headphones and mic are working perfectly. Same for the controller. I noticed the text in BG3 is slightly bigger when I use the controller. That's very handy.

Hey Biggirlkiss, thats a great question, ufortunately I don't. If everything is up to date then I don't know what else could be the problem. Perhaps its your bluetooth settings or some other software causing it to misbehave. I wish I could help but everyone's PC/tech has so many moving variables you'll have to do research and keep asking around. I wish I could've helped more, sorry!
