Thank you for sharing your wisdom. Your channel has proven to be a light in my life thank you so much! ❤ I have been a Buddhist for many years, although not a very diligent one. Recently though, I have found Pure Land Buddhism and find it much more accessible to me as a flawed human with a busy career, etc. I have faith that by chanting Amitabha's name daily, I will overcome! Also, daily chanting has helped me tremendously to follow the 5 precepts and remember my vow of bodhicitta. 南無啊彌陀佛,南無觀世音菩薩❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

Intresting video, my oersonal view on salvation is based on Master Shinran and also Master Ippen, the first time you ever said Nembutsu you are saved already and every time you recite after is to praise and thank Amida, Namu Amida Butsu 🙏 we are saved already by his infinite compassion now

Very good. It is also a Honen's view. Namo Amitabha Buddha.

@@michapasternak9644 Namu Amida Butsu, actually with Honen he believed you would be saved at the end of your life but unlike the Mainland school your last though doesn't have to be on Amida and less emphasis on death bed chanting, Shinran believed when you trust in Amida 18th vow and said Nembutsu you are saved already now in this life

@@amigos2841 Very good, you have 100% right, and also Shinran said that his Dharma teachings about helping hand of Other (Amida's) Power are same that teachings of Master Honen and Master Shandao. May light of Amida bless you!!!

@@michapasternak9644 exactly Namu Amida Butsu, I know with Shinshu you need Shinjin which means no entrusting in Amida but I believe that doesn't mean having doubts like if he is real or not especially since we are just mere sentient beings, what it means to me is we want to go to Amida Pureland and want him to be real so that is enough, that is faith a desire, we want to go to his Pureland and we have already said Nembutsu once wanting to go we are saved my brother, we just Nembutsu now to thank him for saving us

Yeah but Buddhism should also be about how you live this life. Patriarch Yin Guang offers a comprehensive approach in line with all Mahayana Buddhism. Let go of the intention of chanting the Name all the time and you will become lax in your practice. Ippen was hardcore in his pursuit with his followers spending weeks in Nembutsu-samadhi. He was never-ever lax, even as he was aware of Amida’s compassion for all who say the name even once. Let go of it all and be reborn in the Pure Land right now when you say the name, he said.

It’s worth nothing that Nianfo (earnestly) already covers the precepts. This was said by Master Lianchi.
Also, to sincerely aspire for rebirth to Sukhavati is to generate bodhicitta according to Master Ouyi.

    • @PureLandBuddhism
      @PureLandBuddhism  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@1zhxzhx yes that’s also true, if one Nianfo with a pure mind then that covers the precepts. One can also generate bodhicitta to help save sentient beings here (to aspire for rebirth is also one type of bodhicitta, to help save sentient beings by sharing the Pure Land Dharma/the name of Amituofo here before one’s rebirth is a greater bodhicitta). Amituofo 🙏

Tibetan Buddhism also teaches Pure Land. Tibetan, Japanese and Chinese Pure Land are perhaps slightly different.

@@roselavender2222 with Japanese you have three schools but the biggest is Jodo Shinshu which views purely other power, no precepts, no transfer of merit, simply is the first time you Nembutsu you are saved already and not at the end of your life, everytime we Nembutsu is to say thanks and show gratitude, that's the main difference

  • @SilA108ks

Lots of controversy here. It has to do with the Japan schools’ divergence. The Jodo Shu/ Honen is quite in line with what you described here. The difference I see is the moment of death Nianfo. Jodo lineages do not consider that moment necessary for rebirth . I know the 13 Patriarchs lineages do think it is important. I do like that the Chinese lineage permits more advanced meditative Nianfo and has a non-dualistic approach well integrated into Orthodox Buddhism. I personally think we should keep the death-bed intention determinately and see what happens. I do appreciate Ippen’s approach in Japan but ultimately Master Yin Guang a more complete view and all his writings survive. The Orthodox Chinese PL allows for all classic Buddhist practices of concentration, precepts, discipline, conduct, faith. My objection to some of Shinran’s followers is that I don’t think we should approach any Buddhism dualistically. To some extent we should be open to learn from the other’s perspective. Amituofo !❤

Hi I just wanted to ask something urgent. My grandpa is dying and I want to know if I can chant Amituofo for him even though he has never heard of it. He is 92 and I feel very sorry for him. His oxygen is low and I don’t know what to do. Should I chant amituofo for him. He has never ever heard of it before. Please if anyone can answer please do.

Look I’m really sorry to bother you I tried telling my family. So like I told my mom and she instead decided to chant Namo Buddhaya instead of Namo Amituofo and they are about to inject something to him to ease his suffering and he might pass very soon. Can you please recite something for him please. My name is Tiga and can you please transfer merit to my grandpa I don’t know what to do right now. My mom is Thai so she never heard of Amituofo and decided to chant Namo Buddhaya instead. Please. Thank you so much.

      1) Tell your mother that Buddha Amitabha has specifically made vows to help people to be reborn in Sukhavati while other Buddhas have not done so. So, chanting "Namo Amituofo" is more beneficial than chanting "Namo Buddhaya" because it helps him be reborn in Sukhavati. Convince her to do so and tell her it is the best option for your grandfather. Be firm.
      2) Stay by your grandfather's side and chant "Amituofo" in accordance with the instructions mentioned in the link.
      3) There are "Amituofo" chants that you can play for him to listen to if you are unable to chant for long periods of time. Download an "Amituofo" chant from here - www.pure-land-buddhism.com/audio
Choose an "Amituofo" chant from the link and play it and chant along with it.
