Hi! Just made this today and it was a hit! Tastes exactly like how my mom and grandma used to make when we would have our large family gatherings. Sadly they aren’t here with us anymore, so your recipe really brought back great memories. I didn’t grow up learning to cook Khmer food or any food so thank you for sharing your recipe! 💕 Also, I just wanted to also let you know that in your recipe in the description box stated “pineapple juice” instead of coconut juice ☺️
Thank you Bong. I'm 28. From Boston, ma. Just started cooking more Khmer food past three years. Making this the first time tonight. I'm confident because of what I learned in Khmer cooking the past three years. But your video helped alot to make it easier. Thank you for bringing Khmer food to a bigger audience. You make us proud 🙂
Yes finally found a recipe that seems the most similar to my fathers. I just couldn’t find any other Cambodian that uses beer but when you explained that coco rico can be substituted with beer, it makes sense to me now thank you!!
I've never actually tried it with beer but I've seen some recipes that has Guinness beer, I'm gonna have to try it one day. Thank you so much for watching! :)
Hi! New subscriber here. Any chance you can show us the label of the ingredients? Or name the brand you like? I have a hard time looking for them without a pic 😂 thanks for these awesome videos. Can't wait to try them. Love that I can make real Cambodian at home now
Alaline Seth sorry for the late response. If you message me on ig I can screenshot the brands I used and send them to you on there. Thank you so much for subscribing and watching!! 🤗
Cambodian Hot Pot tastes amazing (the bean curd soup version)! have tried hot pot before (the Chinese and Japanese versions) at Boiling Point, except that they use either the beef broth version or the clear water version. However, I’m not a fan of quail eggs for the hot pot recipe, but I am a fan of the other ingredients you provided for this recipe. Looks delicious. the way, Jannie Lam, have you ever tried the Chinese version of Hot Pot?
Can you please tell me the brand/name of the bbq sauce you used with the hot pot picture on it? I wasn’t able to find it in the market since I didn’t know what I was looking for.
Nickey vorasith I’ve never used sprite but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Typically I use coco soda or coconut juice and some ppl have told me beer gives it a way better flavor.
Khatiya Korner one of my friends made it this way when I was in college and so I adopted the recipe. It’s so delicious!! Literally my favorite thing to eat 😋
@@tsam525 now adays there are so many versions and variations. I still prefer mine since it's simple and tasty. Sound a bit bias :) Many people who followed my blog (before TH-cam exist) will remember how easy and tasty my Yao Yon recipe is. Thank you so much for trying and enjoying my recipes.

Thanks for the recipe...Quick question: No dipping sauce is needed???
Syrah Hong sorry for the late response. I usually just eat with the broth so a sauce is not necessary ☺️

When you took the meat cleaver and struck the coconut from 4 different angles, you reminded me of my mom.
