Best zipper tutorial ever! Been avoiding zipper garments but I won't anymore. The other tutorials made it so complicated. This tutorial cured my zipper phobia.
I own an antique Kenmore with a Super High Shank and only a Standard Zipper Foot. This tutorial was most helpful. I can get an invisible zipper in with no problem. However, knowing the proper tools is the best help. Now I know I can purchase a kit for the proper foot. Thanks.
I've watched quite a few invisible zipper tutorials today and this is absolutely the BEST. She explains not just how to do it but shows how the zipper is made and clearly shows why the ironing is so important. Other videos just said ironing was important, but now I really understand why. This has good camera work that shows it all. Good job!!
Thank you very much for this video. I am making a costume for my grand daughter and I am not experienced in garment sewing at all. This video is a great help to me! I can't thank you enough!
The best tutorial i have watched, after several failed attempts to insert the invisible zipper i found your tutorial, watched it and took the plunge again and it came out perfectly. Thank's.
Thank you for the close-up views of the various plastic feet. They let me know that the foot I bought is missing a piece, despite the assurances of the salesperson.
Thanks Laura. I get to try my invisible zipper foot from my 32 feet set.😊 I've also avoided these zippers but it's mostly bc I can't do mental manipulations.😕 Today I have a new machine and want to see how everything works, so, here goes.☮❤🙋
Thanks for this, Laura! Wow, no basting ... ? So nice to be able to skip all that. And keeping the zipper pull all the way down, using the tack bar as the stop? Like the other gals, I've watched so many of these tutorials, and you just made it like, ... what's the big deal? Appreciate it!
Wow, you gave a great tutorial. Right to the point. I'm so ready to try it. I was so intimidated, not any more. Do you have tutorials on other zipper installations.
I love invisible zippers. I just can't get my head around the fashion that puts big metal zippers down the back length of a dress. personal preference I guess. I have the plastic set, as I have several brands of machines. It's great to have a foot that will work on any of them. Thanks Laura.
Hola!!! Beso.
Hi Laura. I'm in the UK and own the Bernina 770 qe. I bought the no. 35 foot for sewing in invisible zips but subsequently found out that it doesn't work with YKK zips because the coils are slightly bigger than other brands. The shop has provided me with an adapter and different foot but when I tried it, it was worse than the Bernina foot. Bernina themselves have been less than helpful and suggested I buy an Opti zip which is, according to them, widely available in the UK. It isn't but I have been able to buy one off Ebay which will be delivered a week tomorrow. Meanwhile I can't go to the shop for a demonstration because we are back on lockdown so non essential shops are closed until at least early December. I'm so fed up and frustrated trying to sew in the zip and I wondered if you have any other suggestions? Thanks
I have a gray dress with a gold metal zipper running down the back. I really don’t like how that looks. Would it be possible to take out that zipper and install a gray invisible one? Thanks for your insight!
Dear Laura, I have a Pfaff Creative 3 (3 years old?) would your plastic pieces be ok for my machine? I've written to Pfaff Australia and waiting for their answer of prices of invisible zipper foot, they are around $50 here. Thank you, Marietta in Brisbane. PS: excellent video once again!
the plastic feet are designed for most machines. Ask if it can be returned if it will not fit. I would try it I think it will work. Please let me know if you do :) thanks
@@SewVeryEasy I'm happy to say my husband ordered a foot for me on line (Pfaff $15, ebay: heatherbelle02) rather than the $49 I'd seen. Much cheaper & arrived in 2 days (unheard of here!). Thank you for your prompt advice. I will practice tonight and do it tomorrow- grandchildren here at the moment. Best wishes from Brisbane

Fabulous tutorial, you’ve kept it nice and straightforward. I’ve watched others and they make it such a complicated process. Thank you Laura.
Thank you for this video. I struggle with a clean finish on a zipper and you clarified that for me. Thanks again.
