I love the idea of creating little worlds within the pages of an art journal to visit when needed!

"Thread of magic"- perfect words to describe creative energy. Great video.

Hi, Lauren! Alexandra from Portugal here 👋! I’ve subscribed to your channel some months ago, but I never left a comment (but I always give it a thumbs up 👍), sometimes artists don’t have time to answer and that was my only reason, because I really like the content you share. Today, however, I have to comment, because I want you to know that the practice you talk about is precisely what I do. I see people on Instagram sharing everyday pages and I just have to keep some (or a lot) to myself. Like a diary, you know? I journal everyday and I have lots of art journals that I make myself to just collage, draw or paint whatever I couldn’t express in words in my journal. I love to paint odd faces and 90% of them I don’t share.
You’re so right! This practice is so good to our artistic self, because we’re free to paint “nonsenses”, “odd”, “crazy” 😂, everything, it’s just for us! It’s so freeing. I did relate to this so much and, as a person who doesn’t know anyone personally who likes any kind of art (my mother did but she passed away last year), it’s so important to see there are people like us 💙❤️💛💚🧡💗♥️🖤💜

Hello! I love that these reach people in other parts of the world. It’s the coolest part of TH-cam. Yeah, I totally get not sharing. There’s something magical about it. Like a secret just for yourself.

Great example of whole-page design and use of full, 2-page spread compositions! These are charming, on a human scale, but there's a lot of sophistication too! Love the range of broad techniques employed to activate the surface of the paper while still making room for some delicate details. Very nice!

Thank you so much. I am 70 and I have dabbled in art and felt like an artist in my soul but not for public critiques. So I would stop doing anything because -why bother? Thanks for saying that- even you do it for yourself sometimes and it's okay.

Love this! The only criteria for being an artist is whether you make art. That’s it. Sharing it is totally optional. It’s so good for your health too. Reduces stress and helps process things and overall enriches life ❤️

Loved watching you play on this. I actually did a master board based on the video where you created this book. Just haven’t added anything to it yet.

Lol! They’re actually just crates from Michaels! I painted them yellow with their cheap craft paint 😉
