um excuse me mr redeyesgreendragon I'm gonna have to flag this video for copyright it is an exact replica of a sleep deprived hallucination I had last week.
Oppenheimer was not that important. He's a face on a historical event, the advent of nuclear weaponry. He wasn't that fascinating a man and he actively stifled conscientious objections from staff and military personnel long before he said the meme. Because that's what it is. And oh my lord do the fascists love that he used the Kali Yuga for it. Also Nolan isng a good director just like Ridley Scott isn't a good director. They just made iconic films, and spun a career out of the hope they could reproduce the success. But the success is measured in monetary value so an accurate appraisal of their capabilities at any one time as a director isn't guaranteed. Look at Terrance Malick. Do you think his films improved with the advent of digital colour correction and CGI? I didn't even like the Dark Knight. It's reveres because most white dudes saw it when they were teenagers. Also, interstellar is just "the universe is looking out for humanity even when people die horribly in space, wink nod". Boring. Deus ex machina. Americans tend to lap that stuff up. Second part, Barbie is not feminist. It's not right wing either..it's cynical corporate cash grab by multiple multinationals trying to resurrect a brand that so obviously scarred generations of women and girls with fucked beauty standards and the idea that to be successful you had to be a blonde bimbo. That can't be redeemed by playing to people's nostalgia. These aren't really films, they're advertising campaigns. One for the posthumous lauding of the personality of an unethical scientist who contributed net negative to humanity and is presented as a kind of tortured anti hero and the movie is riddled with historicism and Scientism (look this word up). The other is just straight up "remember this thing? We remember, you're forever a child, this hate object to homunculus is actually feminist now, please teach your children to hate themselves"
