@@mufc383 If AFL has been known worldwide it would be the dominant sport now. I love watching soccer highlights. There are only about three minutes of interesting play in each match so the highlights capture those without having to watch the other 87 minutes which are like watching grass grow. I agree the best ten-second events are better than any ten-seconds in AFL but AFL is a continuous spectacle. Any sport where a nil-all draw is common is boring and the fact that goals are so rare leads to the hooliganism associated with soccer when crowds react to the importance of one goal. The better team is more likely to win in AFL than it is in soccer where there is more luck in the rare goals.
Geelong came into the game overconfident paid the price a lot like hawthorn in 2012 the difference is this Geelong team never won back to back and hawthorn would go into history. Not a question who was the better team

This was one of the best Grand Finals t watch. Listening to Bruce barrack for Geelong all day then the subtle hint of salt when he says "Hawthorn the champions."

That grand final was so boring. Here us geelong supporters were expecting a thrashing, which we would of had, if our players coupd actually kick the goals.
Never good enough to go back to back, arrogantly dismissed your opponent and were smashed by a team who wanted it more...and who subsequently were the best team of this modern era, closely followed by the Lions.
