I always thought I was a big bad motherfucker until I found myself on a III yard. I'll never forget when I got kicked in the face with state boots for the first time. Or the first time I got the shit stomped out of me until I puked. I learned quick to make sure shit was important before I got all worked up about something.
i met my girl after they transferred me to work release so i would get my phone 11-7 night shift working at a hotel she would come and visit and she ended up riding out the next 9 months with me, they even let me come for a month early on (house arrest) due to corona and my mother asked her to move in my fam loves her and she took care of my daughter like her own while i was gone i’m home now and shits still goin smoove
I did 7 1/2 months with no problems and I'm a very quiet person. I just told people I suffer from social anxiety and depression and nobody bothered me there and just left me alone.
Yeah and they'll be the first to have a beat red face with teary puff out eyes the minute a confrontation comes there way. Never go for work related help with these kinds of people. They'll be hyping you up to stab or jump whoever you're having a problem with AND AT WORK.
Not going to lie......the first time when I went to the penitentiary in illinois, we were putting on our yellow transport jumpsuits, this little white guy asked me have I ever been to the joint before and I told him no and then he asked me was I'm plugged meaning was I plugged with a gang, which I replied no again. Well I m not going to lie, I was kinda scared bc I didn't know what to expect but the kid was like we're leaving Cook County Jail, so the hard part is over with. He said the joint was cool bc now we're actually bidding (counting time until your release date), and the one thing that I took away from our conversation that still remains with me until this very day was, " you will be ok as long as u respect yourself and don't disrespect anyone". I've done two bids and on both bids I've always followed that rule.

@schnappspapi in Illinois it's the gangs that structure all politics. From what phones everyone uses, it's always going to be a folks phone, a people phone, and a neutron (neutral) phone. Back then no matter where ever u walked like chow or the yard ......People were always at the front, neutrons was always in the middle of the line, and folks were always in the back of the line. Everything was structured to prevent riots from kicking off. In some places they even had someone calling it for neutrons. I knew some neutrons that was about it, they just didn't gang bang.
Unfortunately I was this guy when I went to jail for 30 days on a probation violation. My first week, I was detoxing from drugs and just constantly crying about my 30 days around guys who were facing serious charges and I’m lucky they all liked me or else I woulda got beat tf up!

Most people who know how to fight don't start fights because....(see point 3) 3. You never know who knows what. I regularly send guys twice my size flying through the air and might still get choked out by a girl I outweigh by 30 lbs. It's just my experience that the most dangerous people (who aren't crazy) don't go around announcing how dangerous they are.
I was an arrogant young kid when I first got sentenced to prison. I thought of the prison sentence as I was hard or something I could scare people with little did I realize after having 2 older bunk mates who both had life sentences talk to me I soon realized this wasn’t where I wanted to be . They gave me assistance life lessons and told me to enjoy my life in the free world and to leave all my anger at the world in prison . Them guys saved my life and I have since got a great job family house etc all because of those lifers
One of the funniest things I seen was a 7 ft tall black dude with dreads coming in screaming and crying pleading he wasn't suppose to be there he didn't do anything for about ten mins till he got sent to the hole seen him the next day going to court bragging about his charges to his boys
I was the distant one that didnt get involved with anything like a ghost. Had no cellie and minded my own business. Nobody really noticed me and I was only in for 3 months

There's always the guy in county who's always talking about his case and "what do you thinks going to happen" who is always accompanied by the jail house lawyer who will proceed to tell them exactly what the states going to offer and what they should do....but this guy is super annoying because all he wants to do is talk about his case and is always minimizing his involvement in the case...smh...the type of guy you try to avoid sitting next to at all costs.

When I was in prison the loudmouths were never a threat. Be afraid of a quiet person..... Also, snitches... as said in this video anyone can be a snitch. I made a mistake once talking a bit louder in the gym about some contrabands. Guess what, within 15 minutes after we finished the training I was thrown in the hole. There was 6 prisoners in the gym at the time, could have been anyone and they all act like your friends. Never found out who. So, never talk about your case, or about illegal stuff.

I had a dude come up to me on the yard asking all kinds of fish questions. When I asked him how much time he got he said, "two days." I told him to go take a nap and by the time he woke up he'd be leaving.
I used to be very quiet and shy. Got bullied a lot growing up. But after getting into serious trouble with the law I saw people on the outside as far less scary than I once thought. That's a good and a bad thing I think.
Mr. Guererro - question. Regarding notes, snitching, talking to guards. Can seasoned veterans do those things as a convict move for some type of benefit or advantage and still maintain respect? Like calculated politicing with the guards for some type of comfort.. but still it not be agaisnt the convict code.. like.. colab to get something.. borderline stuff??
This legit happened to me. She threw an alarm clock and hit me in the back of the head as I was walking away. Pissed me off so bad, I ran back to where she was (mistake), picked her up and laid her on the bed, on her back, held her down until she promised not to try to hurt me anymore. As soon as I let her up, she ran across the street and called 911. The senior officer that came told me that he believed me, but, since there weren't any scratches on either of us, he had to take whomever didn't called 911. Messed up system, sometimes.

I was a victim guy, but didn't play the victim guy. Charges dropped pretty quickly, but I just kept quiet best I could and didn't try to make any waves. Was way outside of my comfort zone, and couple people cued in on it, but I just did my best to swerve them.

There's always the guy in county who's always talking about his case and "what do you thinks going to happen" who is always accompanied by the jail house lawyer who will proceed to tell them exactly what the states going to offer and what they should do....but this guy is super annoying because all he wants to do is talk about his case and is always minimizing his involvement in the case...smh...the type of guy you try to avoid sitting next to at all costs.

When I was in prison the loudmouths were never a threat. Be afraid of a quiet person..... Also, snitches... as said in this video anyone can be a snitch. I made a mistake once talking a bit louder in the gym about some contrabands. Guess what, within 15 minutes after we finished the training I was thrown in the hole. There was 6 prisoners in the gym at the time, could have been anyone and they all act like your friends. Never found out who. So, never talk about your case, or about illegal stuff.

I had a dude come up to me on the yard asking all kinds of fish questions. When I asked him how much time he got he said, "two days." I told him to go take a nap and by the time he woke up he'd be leaving.
Going to Upstate tomorrow, gonna be serving 33 years. This was very helpful, wish me luck!

The victim: she hit me, I called 911 but, I'm the one arrested
This legit happened to me. She threw an alarm clock and hit me in the back of the head as I was walking away. Pissed me off so bad, I ran back to where she was (mistake), picked her up and laid her on the bed, on her back, held her down until she promised not to try to hurt me anymore. As soon as I let her up, she ran across the street and called 911. The senior officer that came told me that he believed me, but, since there weren't any scratches on either of us, he had to take whomever didn't called 911. Messed up system, sometimes.

I was a victim guy, but didn't play the victim guy. Charges dropped pretty quickly, but I just kept quiet best I could and didn't try to make any waves. Was way outside of my comfort zone, and couple people cued in on it, but I just did my best to swerve them.
