This is a really great video. It's sad to see the the arcade scene die out. I may be too young to ever lived it, but I still wish it was active today as it was in the past. I'm hopeful that the future of the FGC will continue to grow and more local and casuals will too. Thanks for the great insight of your arcade scene.

sad truth of the matter is, Arcade places are being taken over by Internet cafe's which are more popular b/c of the versatility. It would be awesome if some places incorporated some arcade machines as well to keep the scene alive.

When the arcade I went to closed I felt sad, but it was also like "I knew this would happen" I knew the owner ever since he did yard sales. At least I'll never forget the 2 fighting games that got me into the FGC: SC2 & Tekken 4. I played & loved TTT1 but nothing beats that arcade feeling

I didn't go to arcades when they were popular but in college when I got into fighting games I would always hear about the great arcades of the past. I wish I was there when they were in their prime but alas that is in the past. Arcades are truly dead and they will never come back, but there is one true arcade left in Austin and it is truly amazing that it is not only open but thriving. I try to go as often as possible and I realize now why people loved arcades so much. It wasn't really about the games, after all you can play most of them at home. It was about the community. Being physically around people that share your passion is truly amazing. Talking to people online simply cannot compare. Fighting games are perhaps the last video game that people play together in person. I know this will eventually go away so I will cherish this opportunity I have that the majority of people around the country will never experience ever again.

I also grew up and met most of my friends in an arcade. The arcade we used to play and hung out in is still open to this day (it's inside a mall) but there's barely any game cabinets now. It's mostly just rides for toddlers. It is sad that the arcades started to close down but it's kind of expected. This video made me reminisce the good ol' days of playing Tekken in the arcade.

This hit me right in the feels man. I used to go to this Arcade Shop in my city for about 9 years. The shop was around for much longer (nearly 17 years) and the only game the arcade had was Tekken 3. The memories are still fresh in my mind. Recently the arcade closed down and now it's just a closed shop.
