An insane wish of mine was shopkeepers on the surfac/CO and it happened. That is the most cursed thing ever. This mod is amazing, from the extra paths actually making the choices valid, rather than always going Volcana > Tidepool. Dwellings being interesting, radio making forgiveness less tempting and varying the quest to be even larger with multiple options for what you want to do with each item in it. Spelunky 2 has false variety and choice, as certain paths are clearly better, no matter how much balancing was attempted, plus certain things must be guranteed in design for each run to give the player the chance of reaching 7 - 99. Moreover, for the average player 7 - 99 isn’t worth replaying. I love how 2.5 makes every run fresh and with more possibilities of level generation, it brings back the chaotic feeling of HD.
Hey I just got an idea. How about, make a chance that an angry shopkeeper can spawn from a random crate (if you have killed one or two before) ? I mean the standard crates which contains items. Sounds like a great idea for an ambush.
It would be nice if they mixed in some Spelunky 2 music. I don't get the hate in the Spelunky community toward Spelunky 2 music. It seems like the first thing mod developers do is replace the music and toss it out on the curb for the garbage man to take.
because 2's soundtrack sacrifices all of its melodic music in favor of simple, boring tracks that can have reactive elements to the gameplay in them. 2's soundtrack has absolutely no staying power and is extremely forgettable
@@charliechuckles6494I never felt like 2’s music was bad. But I never felt like it was great. The imbalance and steeper difficulty in 2 also meant repeating runs more often, so the tracks in repeat just never measured up to the feeling of HD in my opinion. They suited the levels fine enough, but I just never felt like I could just get lost listening to the tracks. That does a lot to make a game feel more expansive.

What I gathered from this video is you want more mimics?

Its not bad by any means, just not *as* good. It doesnt have the same personality as HD did
No ?
If you prefer the Spelunky 2 music you can just delete the "soundbank" folder from the mod folder
