its not even a dog its an alien species that just looks like a dog the same way superman is an alien that just looks like a human...also gunn is a master at animals, just look at any marvel/dc project hes done
That’s assuming people have seen Goose, for many people this first time seeing Krypto. Not everyone is aware of these things outside our geekdom bubble 🤷🏾♂️
Gunn did the thing all of the DC fans of my generation (late 90s, early 2000s) have been saying for years now. Bring the animated series version of DC and bring it to life. I’m hyped‼️
Been waiting for Geek Buddies!! I actually like that it's Luthorcorp because all the other companies in DC are named after the characters' last names so it fits more. Stagg Industries, Wayne Tech, Lord Corp, etc
I'm taking a wait-and-see approach with Corenswet's Clark, but I really appreciated Tyler Hoechlin's take on it. For me, it seemed like Hoechlin showed that both Superman and Clark were just manifestations of the same underlying persona rather than a Superman pretending to be a Clark. I like the idea that Supes/Clark is really just a big lovable dork at heart, and I think of the standout things that Superman and Lois accomplished was truly humanizing Superman. It was his actions as "just a regular guy" (and not a wrestler-styled costume) that made him likable. Sure, it showed its CW lineage at times, but It's definitely an underappreciated show that did a lot with a little. And worth checking out. 🙂
Superman has never been my fav DC hero, but Wow, this trailer gave me chills in several spots. And just my humble opinion, it is absolutely NOT over stuffed. I LOved seeing Hawkgirl and Guy Gardner. I forgot who Ultra Man even was. Great job James Gunn!!!
1:01:27 Guy didn’t put up a wall, he blasted the window (not blasted as in broke, but he fired a beam at the window; I’ve taken way too many screenshots of that section of the trailer because while the effects look great, Fillion looks ridiculous and it’s good meme material)
As long as I can hear you guys, it's not a huge deal, but might I suggest a new camera for Senor Vogel? Rocha and Shannon look great, but Michael is a touch pixel-y at times. I assume it's a camera thing rather than a internet bandwidth or computer/device issue? It's not a huge priority or that important, but just wanted to point it out. As always, thanks for another awesome episode of GB!
it was LuthorCorp in Smallville because lex didn't run it at the beginning of the show his father was running it then. so maybe this is a time where Lex hasn't been in control of the corporation long and hasn't renamed it yet
I don't think the princess is evil, I think she is being controlled by Gorilla Grodd in that vision. And I think the little girl that Weasel tried to save was only made to look like the princess so that it made sense for Weasel to attack Circe in the last episode because he was trying to save the princess
youtube.com/@AgentJakeBond I'm more leaning towards the lawyer being the little girl who made it out at the start, when the guy with a gun passed her on the stairs...
It was LuthorCorp until Lex changed it to move away from his Father’s criminal record (ironically). Smallville especially used this but it does come from early source material. I’m 60 and a lifetime Supes fan. This trailer so warmed my heart, even brings a tear to my eye each time I watch this teaser. The light, the color, the love and the hope that is Superman certainly seem to be elements Gunn is putting on screen. I’m very excited to see this latest film about my favorite hero.
I wasn’t thinking this movie was going to make a lot of money, I just needed it to be good. However, my seven year old daughter is not into superheroes but I always show her trailers and she’s a sweetheart and will watch them. She watched it and said “can we go see that tomorrow?!” And was so sad it wasn’t till summer. Krypto might have been a genius move to get families to the theatre.
I'm not DC fan, but oh, boy, I'm hyped despite watching the trailer by accident (I didn't even know they're filming new Superman XD). I was at Joker recently (the theater near me played both 1&2) and I was so invested in the movie. So I'm definitely going to tune in and start paying attention to DC from now on.
I'm not too worried about the amount of characters just because it was clear in the trailer and the set images we've seen that Superman is the main focus. But obviously we'll see when it comes out.
James Gunn's SUPERMAN is going to be Superman: The Animated Series in live action! THIS is the movie we need! I believe it's going to be the BEST Superman movie ever made and us fans have ever seen! 🙂 Can't wait for July!😁
Here’s my question: how many more times does James need to prove that he can handle large ensemble stories successfully before some people believe in his abilities? (not you guys I mean others who are doubting) Guardians? Success Suicide Squad? Success Peacemaker? Success (IMO his best) This guy can handle a lot of characters in a story and deliver both humor and heart - and I predict that he is going to knock this story out of the park.
Lol 😂 I loved what Vogel said about people on twitter, TH-cam and other places were people are now experts color grading, listen you work at a bank lol (or even somewhere else doing a 9to 5 job) trying to be an expert on films and tv with the box office and production setups and details. Give it a rest lol 😂
Last season of cobra Kai is reallllllly good! But definitely agreed with you prior to this season, in regards to the show should’ve just ended, because season 5 was not it. Definitely worth the watch imo.
I'm 29 and just gave up my whole dvd/blu-ray collection. I moved in with my lady, got a new apartment so i had to let them go. It sucked cause ive been collecting since spiderman 2 was released first on dvd.
In Creature Commandos I think them trying to preemptively kill the princess will be what causes her to go bad. They cause the future they are trying to prevent
The only thing I can think of when I see what they came up with for The Electric State is "They looked at some of the pretty pictures but they didn't read any of the words, did they?" I mean where on earth did they manage to get Robot Uprising from that source material?? Seriously, you guys need to read that book because it sure as hell isn't anything to do with this.
I can already feel the critics licking their lips about tearing it down for having big cgi battles. I wont say I loved the trailer, but Im intrigued...My biggest worry is that the film loses its focus on supes story to show off how weird and messed up the other heroes are
Sorry Guys…I FF’d all the way to your trailer review of Superman on the FIRST viewing of this episode. Great show. man I loved this trailer! Man, I have to get that shirt MK is rocking!
Have any of you seen Nick Hoult in "The Order" yet? He delivers a great performance as a real-life villain. I'm excited to see his Lex. My all-time favorite Led so far is Michael Rosenbaum in Smallville, but I haven't watched the animated Superman series that Vogel said has the best-ever Lex.
Considering the first teaser, it somewhat got a Streaming/Netflix vibe to me but I've no problem with the overall color grading. My only concern is how well David Corenswet will fit as Sup. From the trailer, I liked him more as Clark but for Sup...I'm still not so much sure. His expressions are alright but have to wait for the 2nd trailer or the movie for his dialogue delivery & acting chops. Whatever garbage Snyder made in his time in DC but one thing he did good was casting of Henry Cavill. It'll be an interesting challenge for David to make this character in his own and overshadow Cavill's reprints from general audience's minds. Btw, I liked the casting of new Lois Lane & Lex Luthor, but I'd prefer a different breed of dog for Krypto.
I did find the teaser to the teaser kinda funny! 😄 It makes you go "come on! really??". But yes, I do understand the strategy. Do you guys think it'll become a thing, or was it just for this film? Also, this is a little of J.G.'s vibe, right? He comes across as "I can't wait for you guys to see this!!"
I think having Krypto in the trailer is saying to us that he is going to be a big part of the movie, because IKrypto is what connects Superman and the Supergirl movie because Krypto is a huge part of the Supergirl movie.

Every time Shannon tears up, I tear up. Stop it, Shannon! 😂
I can’t help it!
I hope he doesn't take this the wrong way b/c I don't mean it that way and I love Shannon, but he's the Neel of the Geek Buddies, just wholesome.
Several people I talked to legitimately thought Clark Kent and Superman were being played by two different actors. The Clark Kent disguise works

Agree not big fan of the Superman suit but it look good I just hope its a billion dollar movie better be good if not say good buy to DCU
Glad to hear the general audience is liking the trailer. The true essence of Superman is back.
I could 100 percent see Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner getting punched in the face not only by Batman, but from everybody in the multiverse😂😂

Merry Christmas from Vancouver, Buddies! Thanks for all the amazing content!
Simplest guess for the giant monster is a Kryptonian Flame Dragon first seen in SUPERMAN #142...
If Lex could prove that Supes and the monster came from the same planet--that could turn public opinion against Kal-El...
James Gunn's SUPERMAN is going to be Superman: The Animated Series in live action!

Agent 47 Lex
Jason Isaacs needs to be the new Magneto

In the scene where Superman is lying in the snow injured... is that a thumb and fingers around him? Hand/paw print?
Death of a Unicorn feels like Cocaine Bear (which is not A24). If it's as good...

Full disclosure, Superman was my most anticipated movie for 2025. I was on a 10.8 out of 10 anticipation scale, but after the trailer I'm on a 6 out of 10 - and I didn't know why.
After some free of influence thoughts, I broke it down like this;
1. The beginning threw me off totally which meant I never quite saw or felt comfortable, while watching the rest. A dog with a cape (as wonderful as it was), just seemed odd combined with the busted up superman. I thought I'd clicked on a spoof trailer which was intended to be a “ha ha”, I gotcha.
2. If I only listen to the music without the trailer, I think and feel very inspired - like I can fly, type of vibe.
3. If I mute the trailer and only watch it, I get thrown off by the beginning which makes me think, this is different, superman has problems - brace yourself.
4.Then the “good vibes” feel of Clark, Lois, Kansas, family, scenes with the daily planet are all great, but then the trailer changes again into a marvel 3rd act type of movie, which I'm literally bored and tired of.
That's one of the reasons I was looking forward to this because I thought a different lense of what superpowers and heroes look like would be good - but it just looked like marvel again.
5. I now wish this movie was called “The Daily Planet”, with just people around Clark - and as little as possible of other superpowers and hero stuff. I respect you guys (and Gunn) but I Just saw a ton of “STUFF”, which didn't mean anything except for a few small diamond moments.
6. Maybe I need a trailer with words and character scenes to get on board, and I haven't seen the movie but I've finally accepted that I didn't like the trailer. All the pieces seem to be there - kind of sort of - but it just didn't click for me, which really sucks.
