🎯 Key points for quick navigation: Concrete has weaknesses against tension and is brittle, leading to cracks when subjected to maximum load. Prestressed concrete is done to increase member strength, reduce deflection, and prevent cracking. Prestressing can be done in two ways: pre-tensioning and post-tensioning. Pre-tensioning involves stretching steel tendons before concrete is placed, while post-tensioning involves stretching steel after concrete hardens. Advantages of prestressed concrete include sleek structures, reduced material consumption, longer spans, durability, fire resistance, and reduced maintenance costs. Prestressed concrete requires high-quality materials, high tensile steel, expensive equipment, and skilled labor. Made with HARPA AI
It should be made clear that pre-stressing the concrete does NOT add any extra load-bearing capacity!! A lot of the structures he was showing throughout the video had arcs and other reasons to be lean and bear more load and he made it sound like making a structure pre-stressed by itself allows you leaner profiles, "less dead weight" which is simply not true!! The only thing it does is reduce deformation!!
We cannot use fe 415 sir.... Tensile Strength of steel used in Prestressed Concrete will be appropriately 4 times more that HYSD bars Watch and subscribe to know more interesting points th-cam.com/video/Ny_QqfMPHvc/w-d-xo.html
Better than other videos, Simple, easy, and understandable way. even better than native speakers. thanks
thank you - this is the most impressive channel about constructions. Respect from Australia
Are you also a civil engineer?
What a marvellous job you are doing sir and yet not even disclosing your name....you are a great person
Very Very Very Nice . You just clarified me so much . Thanks 🙏🙏☺️
thank you! because of this I want to watch more of your videos, it is well explained and easy to undersrand
Excellent video,👍🏻👌🏻
Simple and very satisfying explanation. 👌
Extremely simple explanation easy to grasp the idea..thankyou
Thank you. So informative❤
That's a very cool channel you have going on here. I've subscribed! Keep up the good work, friend! Namaste! 🙏
fantastic explanation , thanks alot
Very nice way of explanation..Thank you so much
Thanks for sharing.
Very precisely explained 👍🏻👍🏻
Great high value video
Your video are always amazing even our teachers also recommend to watch it for better understanding........
Please make a video on design of a building process (structural)
great explaining
Worth seeing this video
This is really a great explanation
Well Explained.Thanks a lot
Excellent work
thanks, it really help for me!
Thankyou!!! Amazing job
Very good explanation sir
It is very useful for many of Engineering students

I humbly thank you bro...
Sir , you did great work
Nicely explained
good explaination
Thank a lot..
very very interested more power
. thanks good concept
Excellent 👍🏻
Useful
Which type of prestress has more strenght...?
💜
Sir i have a question that how stresses are developed in post tensioning when a wire is inserted into hole after the casting of conctrete member.
They use a hydraulic jack to stretch the cable. If you stretch too much you can damage the concrete.
More useful for us

Sir please post a detail video on pile foundation..process, material and tests
Sir i have a question i make Prestressd concrete pole for orchards what is the Ratio of cement saint and Aggregate
Or which grade is best M40, M50
Remarkable
Sir kindly post a video on how building plans to be drawn for fresher ...
Greet info.
