Is this a take of the first 10 episodes only ? Where none of the top 30 best episodes are? 😭😭😭 I guess that speaks a lot about snk when the weakest season with the slowest pace can be this impactful and striking
So since this newbie vid was recommended to me here's my standard spiel on how to watch this anime 😂
1. Do not stop watching unless you see the "To Be Continued" card. There would usually be post-credits scenes there--except Season 3 Episode 12 where there is a well-made mid-credits teaser that I'm sure you'll love. "Fans" tend to tell reactors to skip that as they consider it a spoiler but since I don't think this is a reaction channel, go ahead and watch that mid-credits scene.
2. Another thing are episodes called OVA (original video animation) or OAD ( Original Animation DVD). 8 bonus episodes that are side stories apart from the main series. Again, this is a contention to some "fans" as they deem them "filler episodes" to be recommended to reaction channels. I think they just didn't know they existed so they wanted reactors to have the same experience. 😅 Attack on Titan has no filler episodes...
Though not all of them add a lot to the main story, they do contribute to world building, and character motivations and if you are keen enough, you'll find callbacks to them in the main series. They were also released during the season breaks when the series first aired as follows. You may want to watch them by order of release:
Between Seasons 1 & 2:
1. Ep 3.5 | Ilse's Notebook
2. Ep 3.25 | Sudden Visitor
3. Ep 3.75 | Distress
4. Ep 0.5A and B | No Regrets
Between Seasons 2 & 3

I think it would be interesting to hear your predictions of where the show is going as AOT is considered one of the most unpredictable shows. Also avoid spoilers like the damn plague lol
Probably my favorite show of all times. I rewatched the first season again recently and I loved how it still holds up. Of course the show gets better later on, like many will tell you but at the same time season 1 did an amazing job at introducing to he world to us and making us fall in love with the series.
The Only anime I watched from the start to the end a legendary show not going to lie
12:15 I think they cheat a little with the editing on the fake-out with Armin - If you go back and watch the duration of the shot and the scream 100% imply he is swallowed.

yes of course! it’s annoying i think i saw something suggested to me on reddit which is a spoiler but i don’t think it’s too bad but im not looking anywhere until im done with the series haha
Seriously, you can't even look up benign-seeming things because suddenly you're staring at a reddit post that exposes massive stuff you never meant to see. It's awful.
If you think it's good, you're not ready for next seasons and episodes. This show is a mystery show. All the hopeless of humans being is because of their lack of knowledge about titans. Basicallly titans are ununderstandable beings and the goal is to understand what they are. Everything is connected since the begenning. The show will even answer question from season 1 in last seasons. It's just made as a puzzle with a lot of pieces you have to assemble. Every details are important, to the point you'll feel very stupid to not see the answer before. But this feeling is normal. It's the feeling we all like, because we were proud to witness something that clever. Happy for you you appreciated it.
The show that got me started on my anime journey if you don't count Pokemon.

This show is deep, how emotions of the characters are depending of the conflicts, is very important on the show
Very good observations! AoT is filled with subtle and detailed character moments. As well as the realistic reactions from people in the series. It's extremely immersive! One of my pet peeves, especially with anime is when the characters don't react in a believable way. It's like they know they're a character in a story and just move as the plot demands them to. Missing the human element. AoT always feels real.
The scene with Eren's mom (Carla) is so well done! Good to see someone else pointing this out. Especially when she covers her mouth and says "don't go". You realise her bravery is a facade. She's so terrified that she wishes they'd return and help her. But she wont say it, becouse she doesn't want them to get eaten as well. Usually when you see a parent death scene like this, they happily self-sacrifice themselves. AoT once again makes it realistic. Also i like Hannes who we think is just some drunk guard and irrelivant character. You get to see him lose confidence, yet his first priority is saving the children. He's not just some coward who only thinks about himself, like you'd expect from this character archetype. There's nuance to him and he genuenily feels ashamed.
When AoT first aired the common complaint was that "They scream a lot" or the show is "overdramatic". This sentiment always annoyed me becouse they're in a constant life-threatening situation. The soldier in episode 1 is having a breakdown, due to feeling incompetent. The amount of stress they'd be on in these circumstances is unfathomable. So of course there's screaming in the series, it's a survival show. I'd understand if they did it over irrelivant everyday things. But whenever people complain about "screaming" they always pick high stakes situations or characters losing their morale as examples. It's like they complain about characters having realistic emotions. Never understood how some people see that as a negative. Then they go on to call AoT an "action flick" or a "thrill ride", like they're watching John Wick or something. This sentiment that season 1 got never sat right with me.
Another thing people complained about when it aired was having "superficial/streotypical" characters. While at the same time hating Armin, who i'd argue he is the most realistic character in season 1. Your review here makes me feel vindicated that there's other people who appreciate the same things about the series as i do! Some things in AoT doesn't get enough credit.
I'd be very careful about reading the comments if I were you because attack on titan fans are relentless in trying to spoil the show for others (it's more of a problem on reaction channels than review videos but still). Many spoilers are very subtle and give "hints" about the story. They may ask you very specific questions about the story which can lead you to thinking in line with the story. These questions are usually the "right" questions and are guiding you to think correctly about the story which is no fun at all. People might hype up certain episodes, talk about character motivations, give their insight on the story and characters (with full knowledge of the story). For example, people might say that they used to hate this character but now they love them or vice versa which can imply that a character undergoes some sort of significant development in the future. They might tell you to focus on something specific in the show because it is very important to the story which kinda ruins the fun of figuring out things yourself. They're basically highlighting all the hints and clues the story leaves for the viewer. Basically, if someone is talking about the story and the characters, it can possibly be a spoiler. So far, people are just saying that the show is good and that it gets better which is fine. Generic comments that don't talk about the story are probably safe but if someone is talking about specific things in the story then it might be a spoiler. I know you probably already know not to search anything up but I just want to reiterate how important it is to stay far away from anything attack on titan related except the show itself. Even youtube thumbnails can contain heavy spoilers. I just reaaally don't want you to be spoiled on ANYTHING because experiencing this show 100% blind is just the best feeling ever. I really enjoyed your video and how much you love the show already and I'm excited to watch your future reviews.

The quality of the show is basically a ramp angled upward. It's miraculously written. It shouldn't be possible for writing to be this tight and seamless but, it is. Everything you can't imagine happening makes 100% sense in hindsight. That's a tough trick to pull off.

Holy crap are you actually watching it for the first time?? What wouldnt i give for that. Just be carefull, it has crazy plot twists but because of that it can be massively spoiled easily even from pictures.
Attack on titan got me into anime but its still the best one out there.

I'm so glad you're getting into Attack on Titan. It's definitely my favorite anime and, in my opinion, one of the best geniusly written story.
It is a masterpiece and a very traumatic show.
