Hi 👋, I'm from Indonesia. May I ask you to listen to the opening and ending songs from the anime Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken. and maybe you can give an opinion about the song. Thank you 👍
Imagine someone walks in the room and sees Tony 14:00 and thinks, "aw look at him, enjoying some happy music" Audio: RUMBLING! 🔥😈🤘 COMING FOR YOUUUU!!! 😡☠️😈🔥🎶
I'm glad to see some more recognition for Sim. On Sim's channel they have videos for each instrument for The Rumbling. A guitar, drum, and bass playthrough.
I saw them live in Utah when they opened up for dance gavin dance and they did Rumbling and omg the whole place exploded with energy and excitement, it was amazing seeing them live! They did some old and some new songs, they sound amazing live, 10/10 would go see them again ♥
I like how you now have a new vision, how knowing the story makes you realize how more amazing the song is, cause in anime industry most of the times the songs match the stories, the parts they're used for. That makes them even more gorgeous. Listening to the song without reading the lyrics and knowing the story behind it takes some of its awesomeness away from it, cause you won't know why they specifically created the song that way. A great example is "Unravel" perfomed by TK from ling tosite sigure. It's Tokyo Ghoul's first opening song. The song itself is a masterpiece, but knowing the story behind it, even a little bit of it, will have much more effect on how more carefully one views it
@@DrumRollTonyReacts but it can be the other way round as well, right? Like making you pay more attention to every effort they've put in making that song, instead of just listening to it as something general. You'll notice even the small parts they've adjusted, cause you are genuinely listening to every bit of the song. But you're right, it can also make you biased. If you haven't watched Tokyo Ghoul, I recommend the first opening. Regardless of the story, the song itself is very well-liked. Even I haven't watched it and only have a general idea of what's it about. I'll send the link to its music video to you. It's more than 10 years old but still captures anime and non-anime fans' hearts.
@Ladan1194 That's possible for the average listener. Layered listening on a nuanced level is part of my normal listening already. Context of a show doesn't give more details to the song, one should be able to hear them already. They are there in the song already. If the listener misses them, they weren't listening with a mindful ear. Context of a show generally builds mental contexts that we connect stories to. Context provides meaning and multiple interpretation of what the music MIGHT represent. Trust me... the artist in the studio does not have the same connection to the story or characters as fans who experienced the show over years. That experience is an emotional context that gives you bias.
@@DrumRollTonyReacts I see now. Thank you for explaining so well and easy to understand as always. Before I also wanted to metion that I'm not a professional, so I might lack the insight to it. Thanks for giving me the insight
Hey, I remember during a stream there was this discussion of how some people might take the reggae section differently, I think it was about not feeling genuine, because of the culture... Idk, but you used a word to describe that... I don't think it was "appropriation"... Does any word come to mind? Yeah I know I'm talking about like a year ago, so, lmao
Loved watching this whole Playlist seeing how you didn't know about the series except from the music to loving the series and going to see a live performance.
You should do a reaction to one of SIM’s older songs. Their first album, Silence iz Mine (2008), has a lot of unique influences with reggae, punk, metal, and hard rock. Definitely worth checking out!
@@luhvhue4591 I really enjoy all the songs on the album but my favorite has gotta be Here I Am. TxHxC and Paint Sky Blue are definitely my other favs on the album. Also really like Self Hypnotized too
14:11 I saw SiM live around the time this video dropped and their live shows kick ass. They perform with way more energy then a lot of metal bands out there and they make the crowd get down and jump and they do a wall of death as well!
They played this when they opened for Dance Gavin Dance's Jackpot Juicer Tour. At least their Denver show. I'm going to see them again on the 29th, so stoked.!
Yessss! It's so good I wanna headbang to it all the time. Also, seeing you nerding out about the show was so cool, I know exactly what it feels like, the music just hits so much harder with context. God! So good!!
Guess finally enough time passed to be able to review this without issues, tho the concert version might be a factor. Glad everyone has a good time with this one. Hope you can one day review Tonelico aka Morgan Battle from Fate Grand Order. There is also a live concert version.
Idk if you get comments complaining about you going back and dissecting the pieces, but i think that's the whole point of why i enjoy these. I can listen to the song a dozen times after if i really want, but after playing band in school and loving it, it's also really cool to hear someone with your level of knowledge and experience explain why it is that people like me enjoy and connect with music of all types.
This theme is by far the best in the entire series, and the adventure it takes to reach it is well worth it! That said, I wonder how much love the Vinland Saga openings would all get. I know 1 or 2 were already covered in the past, but 3 and 4 are both fantastic and addicting to listen to.
i havent check out season 2, but the 1st opening is one of my all time favorites. simply for the ending with the metal screams. Done in such an aggressive way that really pairs well with thorfins character. Really drives that feeling of him crying out almost to the world itself, and further characterizes him in the first part of the series and what separates him from just being another edgy angst protag. Sry for essay but damn so much love for that one.
i was lucky enough to see them life in germany on february as an opening act for the electric callboy concert. my gf and me where hell of surprised because we didnt know they are there. we just noticed it because they played rumbling :D
Great breakdown as per usual, especially after getting to see them live at Neptune theatre. They were honestly great performers and the crowd chanting USA was weird though. Was a great birthday surprise not even my girlfriend could arrange but after tiring from the pit I saw Tony relaxing at the venue as well! Was super humble and great to meet, great night overall :)
