I did 20 years and just got out. Federal jobs are all about friends ! The job posting is almost always already filled, waste of time applying. It’s all about who you know, education and experience mean NOtHING. I’m now working at a job teenagers used to do making what I did 24 years ago. Military time was a complete waste of time

Military time is never a waste of time. You did 20 years and in today's youth that's a big deal. These kids have no love for country or sense of responsibility. I do agree that's all about the who you know and not what you know. It happened to my former boss and he already had a GS job. He just wanted to transfer out.
