I just started my 11 years old granddaughter playing last week... she loves it! I've been playing and running since 1976, and will probably never stop...
10:20 - Matt: "Wild Mage Sorcerer." He *totally* just wants to cause chaos and shenanigans, like he does when he DMs. We're on to you, Mercer. We're on to you.
Talesin's comment about the difference between consequences and punishment really rings true to me, especially remembering one of the first games I GMed with my much more experienced friend (who got me into D&D in the 1st place). We were using the starter guide (I figured it was an easier way to teach me the required system), and his we get to a certain section where the party is supposed to clear an area of resident sentient creatures- no biggie, I fully expected a smash and grab scenario. Instead my friend decides to use diplomacy and reason with them. Threw me for a loop, but I went with it. The thing is, I was able to work this clan of creatures back into the campaign at a later date, this time as allies instead of enemies, and made another encounter SO MUCH easier than it would have otherwise been, and have plans to continue that further in my own story line (now the training wheels are off), which will have MAJOR ramifications later (#sinister GM chuckle#). He also managed to avoid another high level encounter by smooth talking the monster, motivated simply because, as I said in character "no-one has ever succeeded in trying that before." The look on his face as he went "Watch me." was both terrifying and hillarious for both of us!
I just love the fact that they kept forgetting there were people interviewing them. You can watch them go from accomplished professionals who know how to communicate on camera to just the dorks we watch each week. They're all just awesome.
@@Warpedfilms One of the greatest things about becoming a Critter at the start of 2022 is that there are literally thousands of hours of things to go through and I'm so glad for them all being up here on YT. I found this in a playlist made by a Critter and never would have otherwise.
Oh yes, very aware of that. And I'm sure he's familiar with Changeling the Dreaming. Which he'd probably enjoy playing too. Not sure he's familir with the more recent Changeling THE LOST, that goes on a much darker concept and integrates the mythical celtic notion of the "Changeling"... a stolen child raised by the Fey. In fact I sure he would love and be an amazing Storyteller for "the Lost".
3 out of 4 players agree: D&D is great therapy to help you work thru your issues. Also, about Tal's socks. Stephen Wright once said something like, "My socks are different colors, but to me they're the same. I go by thickness." (I tried to search it but the internet gets all its quotes wrong and can't source them for sh*t.)
On camera, it looks more like Talesin is wearing Portal colors than X-Men. Also, the Satanist thing, those of us who's real life character sheets are a bit tattered and played through the Dark Times (i.e. the 80s), a nerd stigma to D&D is NOTHING.
Really hard playing with kids, not entirely for kids, but kids mixed in adults. i have 2 14 years old that started at 12 with us. believe me, tons of question about what we were speaking of in-game. and i am too used to describe how creatures gets hit or killed. we still can keep ourselves from going too far into sex territory though. but funny things they are often the ones making the jokes though. tons of fun once we're accustomed to playing with them too !
I would seriously recommend it, I started a stream after a conversation with another viewer in a stream one time and we are still running games 3 years later. It can be a challenge to find the group right for you online but worth it when it happens.
Should everyone make fun of Matt and Marisha and tell them not to smile for the nest interview regardless how long it is? They have very similar expressions right near the beginning!

why would you ever stop? ;D
Death.
Revivify
PerfectTangent I think that when I die, I'll still play...lol maybe with Gygax and others ...that would be heaven!lol
i hope my dad will come back and play D&D again and will never stop like you do
I love Patrick Rothfuss's method for young D&D players and giving them tools instead of weapons.

If Taliesin actually ran a Vampire the Masquerade game for the group, That'd be amazing!!
It's been 4 month but, in case you don't already, it's gonna happen
I know Vampire the Masquerade was the hot game for a few years around 2004.. but like most rpg's it's faded away.
loved hearing Marisha's accent. The South takes hold when us southern girls head back.

Taliesin: "We are gonna lock the doors and release the spiders"
Me: one of the many reasons I like this guy
Wow, Dani is with them for four years now. Impressive.

It was so much fun to watch.

VAMPIRE! Plz make this happen Taliesin!
Talesin, hear me through the internet. Play. Changeling. the. Lost.
Oooh yeaaaah.
He has played Vampire and run Vampire, so he's probably played or is familiar with Changeling.

I can see Talison killing a pooka
That Jack Black Lord of the Rings stuff was a really good analogy.
Mollymauk was born at 9:47
Does anyone else remember when M:TG's 'Demonic Tutor' had an inverted Pentacle circle on it's forehead?
I remember when several MTG cards had inverted pentacles in them.
Taliesin saying he wanted to try bloodhunter :3

hero kids is a good family d&d style family RPG
This interview is great. Sidenote: I need Taliesin's hoodie. Does anyone know where he got it?
Brian do NOT loss the beard! Work be damned!
Way too late for this interview. But with the CC on it captures Taliesin's words incorrectly as Avantika. Ha!
Who’s that guy with the beard and why does he sound like Bryan Foster?!
Brian Foster
