You won’t have too long to wait to experience it yourself🥳. My tips for the route - book the first day’s accommodation on the espiritual route as it’s quite the bottle neck, and if you want the first boat out I’d book that before you get there too. Hope all is going well on your camino, mate?

@@Caminohacks thanks mate. How far in advance would you recommend booking? More than a day?

I did both a couple of days ahead, but that was in august. The monastery from what others were saying was a nicer place than the little municipal I stayed in - which also has had its bed capacity reduced. Maybe see how busy the route is when you’re a few days away. Are there many people on your sections?

I just walked this route in the beginning of May. It was a bit cooler and a lot wetter when I walked it though. A couple of notes, wait till sunrise (or at least till it starts to get light out) before you leave Armenteria. The trail leaving there was one of the best walks of the Camino. Regarding the boat ride, the time they leave is determined by the tides. The day I went the first boat was not until 11am.

@@PaulNelson392 Thanks for the tips. We left Armenteria early due to the summer heat and wanting to get to our final destination early, well that and the lack of being able to sleep 😄. With it being cooler in May it sounds like you had a more relaxed start to the day. Buen Camino

      It’s a special route isn’t it. I loved it too! ☺️
I totally understand why you’d want to go back and do it again. Buen Camino

Such a shame you had to leave early from Armenteira as the path of Stone and Water with the mills along the river were the highlight of our Camino (that’s the forest section you did in the dark). Also that would have been a bit sketchy to negotiate in the dark !!
Your boat trip capturing the sunrise was beautiful.

After I got back home I did hear that the section after Armenteria is a beautiful stretch. Had we not been kept awake by the noise and heat we would've probably left much later and been able to see it all. Maybe I'll have to go back again to see it, ha ha. It must be lovely if it was a highlight of your Camino. Thank you, I loved the boat journey and getting to see the sunrise over the ocean

What a beautiful route. Never heard of this particular one - will definitely consider taking this versus the coastal or central. Thanks for sharing your experience!

      Thank you for watching
It’s a lovely route to take and the boat journey is such a special way to end the experience. You can walk the coastal and then cut in to the central after Caminha, then it pops up a few days later.
