Hey Leonhart, I had some great memories of pulling Pokemon cards when I was a kid. Unfortunately, I was bullied a lot when I was about 14, back in 2000, and got rid of all of my collection. But, with that being said, I have been watching you off and on for the past few years, and I want to thank you for getting back into Pokemon again. I'm now in my mid-30s and missed a whole lot in the Pokemon world, but In the last 6 or so years, I've been trying to get back into it. Unfortunately, the ones that I missed out on, are now expensive. But, thank you for putting the love of my childhood back into what I loved. As for everyone, don't let people bully you, just cause you love something.

As someone who generally can't afford vintage, I'm gonna have to say my best memories are probably of opening Crown Zenith. It's the set that got me back into collecting, and it never fails to deliver hits
I recently got back into it too (just after Surging Sparks came out) and Crown Zenith was one I got a few packs of randomly, not knowing what to buy. Got some amazing hits so kept buying them.. Now about 70 packs later I've pulled four Glaceons, a Mew, and the big boy himself Giratina VSTAR. LOVE that set and I'm so heartbroken the packs are skyrocketing in value right now because I just want to keep opening them and do a master set, or at least a full Galarian Gallery set lol.
I have a question about the rare candy app: is it possible for you to make the signing up thing only for if you’re buying because I really want to scan my cards but I don’t want to enter my address into the app

The base set will always hold a deep core memory for me. I'm a 90s kid and trading amongst my friends and making new friends along the way always made collecting worth it!

And more recently I hadn't bought pokemon cards in over a decade until 151 came out. I started buying packs, which got my mom into buying packs too 😆 we even started guessing the energy when we opened them thanks to you!

Good attempt on the app but I have given up on it. Everytime I scan my collection in it only ever keeps half of the collection and only gives me a value on half of them even after taking the time to sit there and scan each card does the same thing every single time. Fix this

Holon phantoms is the set that ive got fond memories of. My dad bought me 1 pack (this was when the set first came out) from 7-Eleven and I pulled the mew ex. Its the only big vintage hit that ive pulled (that i remember at least) and i still have it today.
My favourite set in terms of memories is Legendary Treasures. My dad bought me a booster box for Christmas when I was like 12-13 (I’m 21 now) and I pulled a golden reshiram, and I still have it to this day.
Before I collected Pokémon a lot, Pokémon was just a side hobby. My luck was horrible as the best card that I pulled was a Coalossal Vmax. But that all changed out of a single pack of Pokémon go that I pulled a radiant charizard. I got it graded and it came back a psa 10 and at the time it was a $400 card. Now it’s only $65 but I thought that I had the best luck ever, now I’m a huge collector of Pokémon cards and Pokémon go is one of my favorite set’s of all time along with Lost Origin and 25th anniversary.
I am from the base set aera, but didn't have the money to buy packs. First ever pack opened was Evolving Skies. That set will always be my favourite. Unfortunately it is almost crazy opening those packs now. But always enjoy the excitement of opening one
Going back to my childhood, I remember opening hundreds of base set, fossil and jungle packs. I have just about every holo from those sets. And, I have quite a few of the NO SYMBOL holos from Jungle. Definitely my favorite packs but kind of sad that I stopped after those sets and didn’t get back into the hobby until 2021
Hey @Leonhart, I think the rare candy app is a really cool idea. Sadly, it makes not much sense to use it to check for market value or buying/selling in Europe (specifically Germany in my case), since we use Euro but more importantly prices vary quite significantly in different languages and countries. Are you planning to include the different European markets in the future? A general European value might make sense, but an option to filter based on countries (as Cardmarket has e.g.) would be well appreciated. For instance, you will have trouble selling a Portuguese card in Germany and vice versa, because of language barriers.
I pulled the Greninja from a pack that came out of one of Walmart's Black Friday boxes. I was streaming it to a friend over discord and initially saw the corner and thought it was just a full art with a red background, when I revealed it, I lost it and couldn't stop shaking.
Best moment gotta say when i pulled a reverse holo venesaur from legendary collection pack when i was a kid. Since then i has been stolen when i was younger but i wish i still had it

Team rocket was the first pokemon set I can remember as a child that made me want to open packs but I was to young to buy some lol i was born in 1999 but i still remember Team rocket cards

Pokémon cards are not what’s sentimental to me it’s actually Yu-Gi-Oh!. I started with right before LOD. It was metal Raiders and LOD was the first to come out after I started playing. I have first edition legacy of the blue eyes cards because I got them so early on I don’t think most of my cards are in good condition but I have some really good cards cause I played with them, but I was older when Pokémon came out so I don’t have those memories cause I was at the age that you didn’t play with Pokémon. You played Yu-Gi-Oh! if you were in your teens And if you were in your 20s, you played magic I was a teenager and I kept playing some of us were in our 20s, but like most of us were teens there were some 30s even one guy with his like 10-year-old son would come and him and his son would play

Just buy vintage singles. They’re affordable raw and NM. Especially if you’re going to for binder pieces and not obsessed with grading and value.

Use shiny. It’s also a good app for sealed collections and keeping track of inventory. Prices update automatically and are pretty accurate
