IT'S UNHAPPY SO WE STOPPED SICK WEEK TO DYNO TEST BLASPHEMI!!

- In the middle of Sick week 2025, a road-tripping drag racing event, I decided that Blasphemi really needed to be tuned on a chassis dyno. So, in the middle of the event, we stopped by Kevin Smith's KSR Performance in Gainesville, Florida, to strap the car to his Dynojet and measure the power output of the 528ci Hemi. We did this because the day before, we noticed our Holley Dominator EFI system adding nearly 300 lb/hr of additional fuel to the base fuel map even though we weren't asking it to do so. Luckily, Pete Harrell, owner of Harrel Engine and Dyno, the shop that built the Hemi was onhand to dissect the data we were looking at and to make the calls on how to adjust the tune. What we discovered on the dyno was that Cylinder number 5 was running lean, even though the average of all the cylinders were not. By adding fuel to just that cylinder, were able to lower its Exhaust Gas Temperature and subsequently the EFI system stopped adding so much extra fuel to every cylinder of the engine. The engine responded positively and we left KSR feeling much better about the health of the Hemi. This is Finnegan's Garage Episode Number 335 and next month we'll have the entire movie of this event edited and uploaded here to TH-cam.

Kevin and Pete in the thumbnail, finally some responsible adults!
Good to see Kevin on the channel.
AND Pete the wizard.
Good to see Kevin back and feeling better.
Always awesome when Pete Harrell.......The Man, The Myth, The Legend is there 😎
kevin and his crew are a great group of guys and having pete there is just a huge bonus
Excellent video - this shows the real reason to use a chassis dyno - not just to get the biggest number, but dial in the tune.
Great all star episode! Pete, Kevin, Dave, and of course Mike.... great to see everybody!
Whenever Pete strolls in with his laptop, it's like everything is okay, Daddy's home.
First, the HP is wave looking at 9:55 because that's where the clutch is slipping and the rearward curve back is where the cutch is locking = the wave is actually showing the clutch slip.
I'm surprised Kevin didn't think to switch the dyno graph from RPM to Speed on the previous (and last) pulls because that will show the actual HP (directly at the drum) and in that case the wheel Speed trace will be flater where the clutch is slipping (and then it will increases quicker when the clutch locks)...
Blasphemi is the rotsun of the finnegans garage channel
I totally agree with you
Never fails to fail
I actually enjoy Mike make countless bad decisions plus wasting alot of money on that not stop problem child HEMI Motor , i honestly believe Mike is so far over his head that's why he continues to beg for help anywhere he can get it....... simple solution put a BIG BLOCK CHEVY IN IT.😮
@@Motorcitypower1 Put a hemi headed tall deck stroker bbc in it and he can keep the cars name I think any other way and he couldn't call it Blasphemi any more
I'm wondering if Finn snapped up the Rotsun so it can be the failure still :)
It’s amazing how much that can be told by the electronics on your car but yet there you were with the spark plugs staring at the center electrode with your spark plug scope!! It was actually kinda cool seeing just how closely the plug was matching the computer!
Blasphemi is beginning to sound really good! Now you can get the chassis tuned and that car will rip!! And no matter how much I (but who cares what I think😃) would love to see a new 632 nestled between the frame rails, I get what you say about the Hemi and the 5 speed! I really do! But I think you are closing in on having a consistent power plant the will survive many a drag n drive!
Can’t wait for the movie, it should be awesome! Thank Mike, Joe and now 12 Volt Dave again for the awesome Sunday entertainment! Between you and Dennis Taylor the knowledge just flows! Thanks again!!
the plugs don't lie.
@@FinnegansGarage That's what pop's always said lol.
Oops, you used the Trademarked Drag-n-D… name. Better get ready to contribute a dollar! 💵
I would of asked for a print out on the 34,000 horsepower so I could frame it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Also, knocking on the door of Mach 3 😂 That's Blasphemy
"Would've": WOULD HAVE.
Eat your heart out, Clay! His top fuel car has nothing on that run.
Kevin and Pete hanging with ol' Finny. Lets gooooo!
I'm still amazed that the guy I read in MiniTruckin' as a kid is driving a lifted blown hemi gasser, a long way from bagged 4 banger laying body.
That's called EVOLVING 😂
Kevin's dyno is a party all on its own.
Blasphemy is my favorite car on yt.
Gassers have soul.
Always fun to see Pete , Kevin , 12 volt on the show too . Glad to see Blasphemi running good and The boys enjoying themselves instead of rebuilding motors on the side of the road !!
Always a pleasure Finn. Cheers mate
Hell of a crew tuning the beast. Like it
I love the fact you love the car but im ready for the caddy ,chevy power in a old land yachts bilt for drag and drive
TBH, I think Mike has lost interest in the Caddy.
Nice to see Kevin and everyone working together great job
I like your motto its the same as mine about learning stuff. I don't care what I break or try that doesn't work as long as I learn from it.
Good to see Kevin and Pete in your video! I get why you stick with the hemi....it's just badass...I love your 55!!!!
Great video!..good work… I have a ‘55 gasser and I also love driving it … it’s been in my family since 1966 … lots of stories and great times …
Blessed is the race car driver who can say they love driving their car.
Keep going ! These vid's are great insights as to what it takes to get the BEAST tuned correctly.
The car sounded like a complete beast going down Gainesville raceway. I'm glad i got to see it in person.
Finn: Blas, are you happy?
Blas: I’m hungry. Feed me another hemi!
😄
You've heard of Little Shop of Horrors? Meet Little Tri-Five of Hemis.
"Feed me, Michael" - Blasphemi (probably).
The pass at Gainesville sounded violent from the stands, I can't imagine what it's like inside the car.
That car just keeps getting more complex as time goes on. It sure seems to go steadily faster, but seems more finicky. Good luck!!
technology fails....lightest body, biggest engine, keep it simple, , win more passes. freiberger s 31.
@@stanallport6746wait we are still talking cars right? 😝
Hell yeah Kevin is so chill and awesome
What cool group of dudes pete and ksr are pure genius.
Always learning , and if you love the car all is good.
WE ALL LOVE THE HEMI TOO!!
Your definitely in good hands Brother
When I hear “Blasphemi”, “dyno”, and “in the middle of a drag and drive”, I get a vision of a mushroom cloud in my mind.
A friend of mine sent me some dyno numbers a while back. It was on a 258CID engine with EFI, big turbos and ice water intercoolers.842 ft/lb torque @ 6944 rpm, 1140 h.p. @ 7257rpm @ 20 lbs boost., These are rear wheel numbers , the load cells bolt directly to hubs so no tire slip.
Great video! Love Blasphemi, such an amazing machine.
It was great seeing it on sick week my wife now recognizes Blashemi at track and yall pulling into hotel. I thought she was crazy and next morning boom there yall were.
good to see you at ksr kevin is good people
8:37 take those 34000HP and don't be greedy.😊
Learning and evolving is the point of hot rods. Blasphemi keeps Mike going better and better
Kevin is such a great guy. Love his videos too. See you 2 working together is so great, I hope you’ll do more with him in the future
So much knowledge in this video
@8:48 I'm not a spark plug install expert but I've never had to crank on a spark plug like that installing one and it be a good thing.
Yeah, normally they're finger loose until it bottoms out. Only time I've had one that wasn't was because the thread needed chasing.
😂😂😂 same
Hemi spark plug tubes.
Thank you for another great video. I certainly appreciate being along for the ride as you get things sorted out. I am wondering why no conversation about the #5 injector possibly causing the elevated egt's.
Much love from Guam 🤙🏾🇬🇺🍻
I dropped in early enough to see all the bots, LOL.
Cool Kevin and pete. Made a great trio
You've certainly got the right tuner there!
Can’t wait to see the movie hope all is well during sick week
Pete is really good at doing stuff! 💪
That’s got a ring to it. Someone should make that their channel name.
Man that car sounds so good ❤❤❤❤❤
Pete and Kevin. What a combo. Kevin needs a 388 from Pete.
Kevin and Pete helping on Blasphemi?! Hell yes!!
Good bunch of guys in this event.
Hope to see this in the movie. A piece of the puzzle.
When ur tuner says way gooder u know u have a gooder tuner 😅
👍😎👍 As long as you enjoy driving it that's what matters.
1 million subs on the way!!!!!!
He's Real Good, At Doin Stuff 💖
bunch of great people in this vid, cool car too !!
Good video i like seeing Kevin in any video pete in any video and newburn and Finnegan. Get frieburger hooked on drag and drive. Him and Dolsich would be a good pair for drag and drive. Road kill style even
Great to see Kevin. Give em hell Mike!!
34000 & 2091 that's just so cool
Glad you love it... That is what its all about.
The EFI and the 6 speed are big reasons I follow this project. However, I am generally more interested in road racing and pro-touring builds than drag racing. I respect both, but the canyon carver is where I elect to spend my cash. Blasphemi has sparked some in interest in drag and drives.
Man that hemi is really good at doing stuff
Especially breaking!
It's cool as fuck, I wouldn't care about the numbers, the look and sound does it for me.
✌️😎
Build a guard for the oil pump belt. You will regret it if you don’t. A small rock gets thrown up from the road and gets in there the belts gone.
Thanks for the update. Can’t wait for the movie!!
Morning Finn, morning all... lets roll.
man that cars work vs fun ratio is crazy out of wack
You know your shit is loud when Pete Harrell is scrambling to find his ear plugs 😂
Blasphemi is telling you it wants a water jacketed Noonan Hemi for Christmas.
I’ve heard Pete is reeeally good at doin’ stuff
Freakin awesome episode
It might be possible to fit a couple of load cells to the trailing arms and calibrate them against a dyno to create a pseudo in car dyno system
You made ALL the horsepowers!
Big Power Pete!
HEY PETE, Its better than way worser! Much more gooder!
Be prepared to get real good at doin stuff if professor Pete is around.
Any four digit horsepower (at the wheels!) on a street car is INSANE!
Get the engine to race temperature first. I hope you're not competing against each other. ✌️🤣🤣🤣🤣 Track Life, it takes about a week to dyno test properly. I enjoy seeing success.
That guy is Real Good at doin Stuff
how are you guys not at #1millionsubscribers ? cmon guys you know you should be subscribed and watching every video this dude is in!
Sure, the car would probably be more reliable with a different engine - but the Hemi and stick are so freaking cool.
The car would be more reliable if everything was put together at least 2 weeks in advance so every part could be tested individually and then together to insure they all play nice, consistently getting put together at the last minute all be it to the best of everyone’s best ability does no one any favors.
34,000 horsies, that thing must have that 3/4 race cam in it...😊
Heck yeah love this
I have been making myself not watch other YT channel coverage of Sick Week while waiting on your vid
it will be worth the wait. however, no other channel will have the full story of our particular experience so I say watch them all and enjoy.
@@FinnegansGaragesay what??? I’ll just go watch fryaburger and dullstiches whilst u post up more experiences😂
Happy , Happy , Happy.!
It was good funny content the first 10 times... now it's just sad 🤣
Yea, yay all my youtuber friends hang out!!👍🏻
Loose load sensor on the dyno? Causes wildly different reading from loading and unloading the rollers
So much awesome!!!
Kevin pissing excellence as usual 😂😂😂😂#winwithKSR
Nothing like some Blasphhemi on a Sunday morning...
Thank you Finnegan
Sometimes we love the difficult ones the most haha
I had the same problem with my F2 Procharged Camaro. If we only run it to 6,000rpm we could get a number. Above that RPM the dyno would freak out and say that it made 31,000HP. Happened on two different Dynojet dyno's. Never did get a real number above 6K.
I think Big Ball’s hacked your Holley!😂
