I wish there was a version of the SF3 series that included all stages, characters, music and endings from all three games. The art and music of these games are very well done.
I love 3rd strike but 2nd impact definitely had a little more variety with the presentation. The ideal game would be 2nd impact's presentation and 3rd strike's gameplay with a combination of the soundtrack.
One thing I miss are the defeated poses/screens here that aren't in *Third Strike.* Besides the allure of mild gore, it's also interesting how each character expresses their defeat whether kneeling, crying, or just plain unconscious.
3rd Strike maybe the pinnacle of the SF3 series. But i always loved and appreciated SF3 2nd Impact moreso for its far superior soundtrack, win poses art and background fighting stages! Sorely miss not seeing Ken's background in 3rd Strike, the underground Subway stage never suited him while the San Francisco boat on the dock stage DID!
My first time playing 2ND IMPACT was on the Dreamcast, and still one of my favorite SF games. During that time, I was healing from car accident, I was home for months. My skill set had gotten so good! Each game play looked just like this video!
Man, the visual direction in this version is so much better than 3rd Strike's. The stages are actually interesting to look at, the victory screen that shows BOTH characters in a somewhat dynamic scene, and actual color to the UI... man, if 3rd Strike didn't have all those additional characters and systems, I'd be wanting to play this instead.
They were running out of memory with 3rd Strike. Even though the game was loaded off a CD, the game itself was 64MB I believe. It’s why so much of it’s audio sounds compressed.
Really if you mix this one in 3rd Strike it would be great like how third strike could have a lot of balance done just with changing super bars length and stock. Give Ryu his two stock Super 3 back and several other characters can have tweaks like that like Chun-Li having one bar for her super 2 Etc and give everyone any moves they lost from this game especially like Sean
Somehow this game feels like it has more stuff than 3rd Strike, but think 3rd Strike still has a better announcer and better voice clips for each character.
"Pride...Power... Speed...Concentration, YOU CANT ESCAPE!" ARGH! From the point they got my full concentration/attention I had to play this game or else I would be escaping my pride power and speed! That is not a completely effective brainwashing technique in effect there Capcom.
There was always something good about 2nd Impact's endings. There wasn't a formal ending but it just ended with a character doing a win pose over Shin Akuma and the game ends with Gill beaten on the floor with a FANTASTIC credits roll.
Just so you know, Hugo was intended to be a character in SF3 New Generation, there are game assets for an unfinished version of Hugo hidden in that game, it's quite interesting to see.
I played III, skipped 2nd Impact for some reason b/c my local arcade didn't have it, went straight to 3rd Impact. So it's kinda weird seeing this. Dude, as for how you go from a parry to a super art with ease is a mystery. Plot twist on the last fight... did not see that coming.
kinda like that version of SF2 in the OTHER anniversary collection, except with multiple versions of the stages instead of multiple versions of the characters? actually, putting the other version(s) of Sean in 3rd Strike would be hilarious
CPS3 is where Capcom were able to maximize the animation with sprites. It basically outdid the NEO GEO. Red Earth imo is where they used it to it's full potential.
Ryu's Shin-Shoryuken and Ken's Shoryureppa are one of my favorite moves in the Street Fighter III Trilogy and one of the reasons why I play as Ryu and Ken in Street Fighter as a whole although I have beaten Street Fighter III: The New Generation and Street Fighter III: Third Strike - Fight for the Future in the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection on PS4.
Really tool assisted? I remember they had this machine in a lounge in college, I had around 8 full perfect games. Probably out of the 3,000+ I played, and yes i pumped several hundred dollars into it over the years there, well it was only a quarter. And the guy that owned them would some times through 4-10 credits on it for us when he emptied them. I thought this was a very good player. I minored in Street Fight 3 Second impact Giant Attack and Foosball while in college considering all the time I played them. There were also 4 other guys really good at this game, between all of us I would say 30-50 full perfect games combined. It got to a point the only competitive games were human vs human. Man I love this game.
2nd Impact had better stages, UI, music and victory screens. 3rd strike had better voices, gameplay and roaster. I wish Capcom could blend those two together
***** that happens to ALL rival battles of every character..After u score perfect rounds without losing any, Akuma comes in raging demoning your rival and then fights you.
This game is amazing and it's the only one in the Street Fighter III series that I haven't seen in an arcade. I know Chinatown Fair in NYC had it before it was renovated, but unfortunately I never got to go and play. I'm sure it's incredibly rare to come across these days. This and New Generation are way better than 3rd Strike in my opinion. The music, the art style... even the voice actors, even though I've heard some complaints about them.
The first sf3 waa popular in NYC but by the time second impact came out people were not that impressed because it was pretty much the same game but with minor tweaks, the game didn't build crows back up u til 3rd strike hit the arcades and akuma +Chunli was a smart move along with the other addition characters (except remy..nobody liked him..)
yeah it depends on the super as to how many you can charge up during a fight. Some you can only fill up once but do MASSIVE damage, or have a weaker one that can be used in combos and have better setups.
Good look. I have done the same when the game first came out in the arcade in 1998 multiple times... Its good to know I wasn't the only one who was able to do this.
I never seen second Impact at the arcade. i believe I have seen 3rd strike. I remember being really young I would see Street Fighter II at the arcade and I was really confused wondering why it was there because I had the game on SNES, lol
I never got to play this back in the day. The game was only released on the dreamcast which nobody owned. I'm playing a lot of SF III in 2017 though,..it's great! Every Street Fighter fan should get a Raspberry Pi for these arcade games. Especially second impact is a blast with its colourful and interesting backgrounds and widescreen mode.
I played the first SFIII a lot when it was in the arcades, as well as 3rd strike, but never really messed with 2nd Impact, so I never knew about Akuma being in there. I agree with both of you now that I've seen it though. The person playing this destroyed the CPU!
Thankfully you can use the 2nd Impact soundtrack for SF3 Online Edition. I actually like the soundtrack in 2nd Impact and some in Third Strike. Wished they included New Generation and 2nd Impact Stages, too.
Pretty sure it's TAS. Yes it's easy to anticipate the AI, but even the ones who are great at parrying whiff occasionally and just go into a block. Hell, this guy doesn't even space. He'll stand a pixel away and parry a move with a 3 or 4 frame start-up.
From watching these videos, it's painfully clear that the SF3 games had some improvements as they progressed but also some serious steps backward. "The New Generation" had multiple backgrounds, that just looked the best out of the series. "2nd Impact's" inclusion of Akuma as a hidden boss was a nice touch. "3rd Strike" had the best sound/music and the largest roster but removed a lot of the background stages and replaced them with inferior ones as well as removed the cool victory/defeat screens.
I kinda wish the Monte Carlo Tree Search was a thing back then. Just to see what would happen. For those of you curious about MCTS:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monte_Carlo_tree_search
nice video. and as some here already mention, i think hes is playing on easy, has dramatic mode ON, stun gauge, one buttom super. there some parts of hes game play where he does the motion for the super but in others hes doesnt. not sure if he has guard gauge on. i like the video non the less.
The difference between 2nd Impact and 3rd Strike is....
....staggering.
This game is so chill. I also like how the opponents aren't always wearing their default colors. It mixes things up a little
What about SSF2 Turbo?
@@zeromaycryboieveryone always has that becausr you have you select the old version of the character to get the original color
I wish there was a version of the SF3 series that included all stages, characters, music and endings from all three games.
The art and music of these games are very well done.
@Jotaro97 if that were to happen I would be all over it.
the stages maybe, but the rest, i'll keep the 3rd Strike version. everything save the returning character sprites looks more refined there.
on the street fighter 3 stages for mugen they are missing ken's, necro's, and Dudley's from new generation. just fyi
Something like Ultra Street Fighter 2
So maybe like Hyper Street Fighter 3?
I love 3rd strike but 2nd impact definitely had a little more variety with the presentation. The ideal game would be 2nd impact's presentation and 3rd strike's gameplay with a combination of the soundtrack.
Nicholas G I've always said that would of been the perfect st3 game.
I tell people this all the time this was the best Street fighter game of All-time
One thing I miss are the defeated poses/screens here that aren't in *Third Strike.* Besides the allure of mild gore, it's also interesting how each character expresses their defeat whether kneeling, crying, or just plain unconscious.
street fighter’s soundtrack is still the best. they didnt have to change

I'm so sorry about that car accident.
I liked the grading system.
***** Sure it does. It encourages you to do better the next fight which makes you more experienced with the character you are using.
They were running out of memory with 3rd Strike. Even though the game was loaded off a CD, the game itself was 64MB I believe. It’s why so much of it’s audio sounds compressed.
Ralph Pillars It may have been compressed buy I still think it had the best soundtrack in the street fighter series.
Really if you mix this one in 3rd Strike it would be great like how third strike could have a lot of balance done just with changing super bars length and stock. 11:05 Ryu: _"The world is BIG, and so is your ASS!"_
Yeah they did her dirty with that UNFORTUNATE pose
The new York theme is so good I think I might add it to my playlist for the gym.
2:33
Urien: Shit I hope they dont notice how similar to Gill I am!
Either way Urien is NOT looking forward to this fight...
OMG I was looking for that soundtrack! Amaaaaaazing! Thank you for that! Made part of my child days
The fact that characters in stages react to specials like Hadoken but pulling people out of the way or a cat being scared is such a nice touch.
Time stamp, please? I never noticed that!
Somehow this game feels like it has more stuff than 3rd Strike, but think 3rd Strike still has a better announcer and better voice clips for each character.
Urien's face tho.
you dang right
ha
RJ Dr. Manhattan with white hair. And a thong...
@Jotaro Cujoh Ah, a man of culture as well
Ryu is a real. Master of the universe.

ARGH! From the point they got my full concentration/attention I had to play this game or else I would be escaping my pride power and speed! That is not a completely effective brainwashing technique in effect there Capcom.
I like that akuma is a secret final boss again in sf3 2nd impact. Especially because he transforms into Shin Akuma if you beat him twice.
12:48
Ryu:Akuma... I'll go beyond you with my hado!
Akuma:Ryu! Can you satisfy me? Nuuuuun!
There was always something good about 2nd Impact's endings. There wasn't a formal ending but it just ended with a character doing a win pose over Shin Akuma and the game ends with Gill beaten on the floor with a FANTASTIC credits roll.
Despite all the palette swaps, this is indeed my favorite version of SF3. The only "new" character drawn from scratch is Hugo. 😏
Just so you know, Hugo was intended to be a character in SF3 New Generation, there are game assets for an unfinished version of Hugo hidden in that game, it's quite interesting to see.

there should have been a mode for the 2nd impact style on 3rd strike. especially the PSN 3rd strike, this is way better looking!
Um dos melhores Street Fighters já feitos.
Diversão garantida por horas.
I love this Ryu voice.
I wished his voice was in 3rd strike
His voice sounds like he's been drinking scotch all his life. Not smooth at all!
i wish there was sf with all 3rd strike characters and all 3 games stages sf 2nd impact had the best stages by far
I hope the Street Fighter 3 30th Anniversary has some kind of a mode like that
kinda like that version of SF2 in the OTHER anniversary collection, except with multiple versions of the stages instead of multiple versions of the characters?

You mean like Hyper Street Fighter 3?
well the street fighter 30th anniversary is almost here but no Chunli won't be in second impact sadly.
The best street fighter III 2nd in all street fighiter
CPS3 is where Capcom were able to maximize the animation with sprites. It basically outdid the NEO GEO. Red Earth imo is where they used it to it's full potential.
Man listen to the character select screen music jus give me goosebumps & nostalgia . I love this feeling😊
Gills stage looks so awesome whoever did the sprite art deserves alot of credit
Same with Urien's
autoparry mode and baby mama dificult
Bad Gato 😂😂😂
i think its for rp or some shit, to look like in the anime that ryu beats everyone without effort

That moment Akuma shoto-bombs Ryu and Ken's friendly sparring match XD
The reason why it’s all perfect and super art finishes is because it was TAS (Tool-Assisted superplay)
Really tool assisted? I remember they had this machine in a lounge in college, I had around 8 full perfect games. Great video, man: thanks! Enjoyed the music, the game's art and the parries of the game play. Definitively thumbs up!
2nd Impact had better stages, UI, music and victory screens.
3rd strike had better voices, gameplay and roaster.
I wish Capcom could blend those two together
thanks for not shitting on a game i play alot
The music is hype too😊
Damn dawg!!! Shin Shoryukens and Perfects for everyone!!!
The guy in the light blue shirt in Yun's stage kinda looks like Tung Fu Rue from Fatal Fury.
That old bald guy wearing the blue shirt and fanning himself looks like Master Roshi from Dragon Ball!
WormyGamer94 aka SuperSonicFan60 Y'know what? You may be right.
he's the old man whose riding a bike in Street Fighter 2 Chun Li's stage
That One Wormy Meme Guy they were inspired
calvin3464 Can Tung Fue Rue transform into a giant meathead?
This events happens after Street Fighter Alpha and Street Fighter 2 and Ryu didn't know who is Akuma?
This cant be cannon... I mean Akuma sending Ken`s soul to hell before the fight begins?
***** that happens to ALL rival battles of every character..After u score perfect rounds without losing any, Akuma comes in raging demoning your rival and then fights you.
Buck Schneider Yeah, basically I know, thus its not canon... Its just that simple...

Nero Angelo Yeah. 3rd Strike is the only canon iteration of SF3.
God, I love this OST
Pride....
Power....
Speed....
Concentration....
YOU CAN'T ESCAPE!!!!!!!
C'mon man this game is just perfect
Question: how come there’s no Ryu’s ending story scene? Is that because of the player fought Akuma?
I wish capcom re-releases this along with new generation for psn and xbla. I like these better than third strike for some reason.
and the alpha series

Thankfully you can use the 2nd Impact soundtrack for SF3 Online Edition. I actually like the soundtrack in 2nd Impact and some in Third Strike. Wished they included New Generation and 2nd Impact Stages, too.
what difficulty was this?
nope. SF4 takes place before SF3.
The best of the three to me. No OP Chun-Li/Makoto, and the sounds (and musics) are way better.
Adnane Rabah yea mokoto was a horrible character.
I own this game for the dreamcast Street fighter 3 double Impact 💕
i really love this game
How i do the parry here?
Pretty sure it's TAS. Yes it's easy to anticipate the AI, but even the ones who are great at parrying whiff occasionally and just go into a block. Hell, this guy doesn't even space. He'll stand a pixel away and parry a move with a 3 or 4 frame start-up.
Just ordered this for my DreamCast. Next comes a Sanwa mod to my stick and buttons on the Dreamcast Fight Stick. Super... Effing.... excited.
Sean is a beast in 2nd impact. They sure nerfed him down in 3rd Strike.
what's the name of the moves that releases yellow auras, those reversal like moves?
It is called EX Moves.
