- 'Not just a tractor man'.
I love this about our motorway sculptures here in Ireland, every one of them has an untold story. In this episode I ride my trusty Royal Enfield Continental GT to Northern Ireland in order to unearth some lesser known facts about the man this sculpture was built to honour. To say he was a Genius is perhaps an understatement. Enjoy.
This is a bit different for my channel and is aimed at bringing in other viewers who perhaps otherwise might not visit a motorbike review channel. I've always been in awe of the incredible motorway sculptures in Ireland and the stories behind them have always intrigued me. Thanks again for tuning in folks!!

Fascinating. I knew that the Ferguson tractors were built in Coventry, but was not aware of their Irish lineage. It does explain however, why my Irish Uncle farmers all had Fergie tractors back in the day and one still does!
What a fabulous pro-level film Dave (of course, you're a pro!) must have taken you ages to write, film and produce....stunning but of work. ....and what a man! Sort of an early Irish Elon Musk, and as you said at the end of the piece, truly someone who changed the world. Great stuff mate, this was brilliant, thoroughly enjoyed it.
PS loved it when he said "you wouldn't have got in his aeroplane"........little did he know the barmy things you used to fly!!!

Fabulous! I'd heard of 'the little grey Fergie' tractor and it's 3-point linkage but hadn't made the connection with Fordson and Massey Ferguson tractors. I'd also heard of the Ferguson Formula 4-wheel drive system from the Jenson FF car but didn't know it was the same Ferguson, or that it'd been put into an F1 car. I also hadn't heard of Ferguson the aviator despite being a bit of an aviation nut and pilot. Considering the fate of many early aviators it's perhaps as well he gave up flying once he had 'done' it! An excellent video.. Thanks!

One of the world’s greatest engineering brains was a humble farmer from the Magheraconluce road near Dromore. I’ve two framed bank notes in the house here 1 is the George Best one and the other is the Harry Ferguson one and as a former Tractor Mechanic myself it’s the Harry Ferguson one I like the most. @@WheelieGoodTV the Harry Ferguson one is worth more as it’s a £20 from the danske bank, the George Best one is only a £5 note lol. The next time your over the border stop at any Danske bank machine and you should get one from it

This should be on main stream telly, Dave. Professional work at the highest level. Had me captivated and wishing for more details and a longer piece. You're a natural in front of a camera as well as behind it. A series of stories detailing the history of each motorcycle company or even just British ones to start with would be extremely popular! @@WheelieGoodTV Seriously Dave, you are good at documentaries and whichever family member is helping you, they are top drawer and should be on mainstream TV. Have you thought about doing 30 or 60 minute documentaries for TV or even TH-cam? Yes I know its a lot of work but you have a natural talent both sides of the camera which is very rare.
Whatever you decide do what makes you happy and brings in the money, you have to live and support the family. Looking forward to the next one!!!!👍

An interesting and beautifully filmed documentary on Harry Ferguson. Growing up on a farm I was well aware of his contributions to tractors (The little grey Fergi and the 3 point linkage) I wasn't aware of all of his other endeavours. Thanks and best wishes
