With rim brakes that are cable actuated maintenance is really just changing the pads and cables as needed. Keeping the bike clean and not letting salt sit on cables extends the life. With hydraulic brakes it is recommended to flush the fluid once a year. Hydraulic has a better feel and has more power but has regular scheduled maintenance.
How comfortable is this bike?
