I’ll never forget I remember playing this game and my dad walked in while I was in the extras menu, he said wow what is that.. he sat in my chair and listened to this track for like 20 minutes. He has never done that for anything else before or after. Something about this song really hit him deep in his core.

I had a great life. I'm 28 now. I'm African American and was fortunate to have both parents. I went to a white school and i never felt like I fit in with the blacks or the whites but when I played this game I felt comfortable. I love sonic and as someone who works out , I always listen to sonic theme music when I run. . It allows me to be fully alive and not let the kid in me die. . The kid in me has to be hidden from the world cause it will rip me apart. But when I run to the music of "city escape" or "speed highway" I can smile and be a kid. . . Thank you sonic . . I hope atleast one person reads this . This is my story. Catch you later

All the other kids in my grade treated me like if I were younger than them or if I were a toddler learning how to talk and it annoyed the hell out of me to the point where I wouldn't talk or hang out with anyone anymore unless if was necessary. Now after a few years and me about to go to high school, kids at my elementary school stopped treating me as a "toddler" and other kids/my friends started to enjoy my interest with Sonic and start talking about how they themselves enjoy the characters and games themselves. That's probably because we grew up with one similar similar thing... video games. We all eventually grew up to be adults and those who haven't yet are probably on the verge of becoming one, reading comments about how people felt during their childhood is just something we can all relate to, especially when it's something as marking as this music and when we all grew up with this mega collection back in 2002.
Back then I was about 6 years old, and now, I'm a 23 years old man that take cares of his 76 years old father, who is the reason why I got this game in the first place, just writting this made me tear up a bit... not tears of sadness, but of happiness due to how lucky I was to have such an amazing childhood with parents who cared deeply about me and games that defined a generation of young boys and girls.
Sorry if this went a bit overboard... it just felt amazing to feel all of those feelings again.

Heard that Brawlbrstms3's channel got taken down (witch sucks) and I've always wanted to post my own story with this game in that legendary comment section of this song... Welp, might as well share it here.
Back when I was 8, me and my family went on a vacation to Florida, we planed on going to Disney World during that trip.
Unfortunately for me, on the day we were supposed to go, I suddenly got very sick. I ended up getting diagnosed with Type 1.
What was supposed to be a trip to the 'Happiest place on Earth' quickly turned into a trip to the E.R...
While I was stuck in recovery, I got to play some GCN games on a little monitor that was hooked up to my bed.
The two games that they had were a copy of Mario Golf Toadstool Tour and... well... this, Sonic Mega Collection.
It was because of this game that my recovery in the E.R. was a lot less hellish for me.
After I got out of the hospital, we ended up getting to actually go to Disney World during that vacation, so I'd say it all turned out better at the end of our trip.
When we got back home, I made it my mission to scour the whole PLANET to get the game for myself, and a few weeks later, I found it at a Game Stop local to where I lived.
This game was what MADE me the Classic (and modern) Sonic fan that I am PROUD of being today,
and what made some of the best memories of my times with the Nintendo Wii I've cherished for years now...
To those who read all of this, thank you so much for taking your time to do so.
    Cheers.

After years of coming here I think I’m ready to share my story.
This song is so near and dear to my heart, It honestly brings me to tears when I hear it because it takes me back to one of my most creative and peaceful times. I was a kid in Harlem, and my family knew I was the biggest sonic fan that side of St. Nicholas Avenue lol. My dad bought me this game and I lost my mind. He loved a good deal, so a sonic game with several games on it for only $20 was the best purchase he could’ve made for me in his mind at the time, and it was. I wasn’t too good at video games but over time I became really good at all the games on there, these were the first games I ever beat by myself, the grind, the music, collecting all the super emeralds and feeling like a BOSS playing as hyper sonic for the first time, man good f****** times. I always used to play the Sonic Boom music video and sing along with my older sister, we shared a room in our small NYC apartment so she always watched me play the game. This game connected me to so many people at my school and has layed life long relationships that I still hold near to my heart. I even got into drawing comic books after spending HOURS looking through all of the Archie Comic covers. This game inspired me so much to do so many things. I wish someone would’ve noticed and held that kid a little tighter and pushed him a bit further in life.
In 2011 my family left NY and moved to FL leaving my city, my father, and all of my best friends behind. Time passed and I found myself in a new place and completely disconnected from everything. I lost myself for a bit and it took a long time to find what was left.
One day a friend gave me his old ass box tv and we hooked up an old Wii system to it. After a long and stressful day, I stumbled across this game in my old storage, I was actually gonna get rid of it because I just felt hopeless at the time and was being self destructive. I put this in and instantly went to the extras menu to hear this song and I cried like a baby. It felt as if I was given back a piece of me, music is that powerful to me. I remembered Harlem, my friends, all the good times I used to have. I feel I’ll never truly be that happy again, but thank God for the memories man.
Life has just been upside down for me since and whenever I feel lost I return to this song. Im about to graduate college after dropping out and going back (took eight years but I did I it!) and my gift to myself is going to be the new Sonic Frontiers game. I’m even gonna stream it on my twitch, I’m trying to make Affiliate🙌🏾
I’ll return home once again. Even if it’s completely different and everyone’s gone. I just want to be reconnected with my hometown, and my father one more time. Im 24 so I’m gonna make this happen🤝🏾.
If I do, I’ll return. Until then I love you all. Please continue to keep this song close, and be inspired. If nobody believes in you, from a fellow sonic fan, my heart goes out to you all. Much love🙏🏾

This song has a deep connection to one of the most important times in my adolescence.
My mother was stricken with cancer when I was a kid, and it was a painful two years for her to endure. She would always watch me playing games, encouraging me to challenge myself through this form of entertainment. She'd cheer, laugh, and act shocked at story revelations with me. It meant a lot to me and is undoubtedly the beginning of my love of streaming. Sonic and Harry Potter were the two biggest things we bonded over, with Cartoon Network shows like Chowder and Kids Next Door also filling in as backup when games weren't on our minds.
This game was one of the few things I played religiously during those years. It was the start of my love of retro games and it was always a comfort for me. Even when I had arguably better ports of these games like with the Classics Collection on DS, I'd always come back to this game (specifically the Plus release on PS2).
Sadly, cancer got the better of her and she spent her last month alive in hospice care. She died when I was 11. It's been 12 years since then and it feels like nothing and everything has happened since then.
I've always been the type of person that blocked out emotional trauma, simply ignoring it so the pain never overwhelmed me.
    But this song.
This song brings me back to those years.
It's not pain I feel when I hear this. This song, thankfully, isn't a constant reminder of the pain our family suffered through during those two years.
This song is a reminder of childhood and the inevitable flow of time that causes one's childhood to fade away and be replaced with nostalgia.
I remember the good times with those bad. Especially those times involving this game.
I remember my mother encouraging me to get out of the Chemical Plant water sections.
Reaching the final level of Sonic Spinball (and losing immediately).
Discovering a gem with Comix Zone.
Never understanding what the fuck you're supposed to do in The Ooze.
Unlocking Sonic 3 & Knuckles and having a blast just playing as Knuckles in Hydrocity Zone.
Discovering my love for the early days of the Archie comics, influencing me into buying some of the Volume collections I'd find at Books-a-Million.
Watching the trailer for Sonic Heroes over and over and over again, despite being able to play the game whenever I wanted.
There's something ethereal about this piece. Hideaki Kobayashi has managed to touch the hearts of millions of Sonic fans across the globe with this song and we all collectively share that bond together.
I don't know any of you, but I'm glad we can share this song together.

I commented this elsewhere already but
This game is arguably the most important piece of media to me ever, to the point where even thinking about it makes me want to tear up. Here's why.
This was the first videogame I ever played, and I wasn't really close with my parents due to not seeing dad often and mom always working (they were separated) so I spent a lot of my time with my grandma. She loved the sonic trilogy, but mostly sonic 1 and when she saw me play it she immediately hopped in and played it with me and told me about how when my uncle was little, she'd play sonic 1 with him. We never did get very far in sonic 1 but I played every game on there and did the usual looking through comics and watching the trailers and stuff on there, played that game for YEARS (we went through 3 copies of the game and 2 gamecubes thats how often we played it) and never could beat sonic 1 for whatever reason until I was in 6th grade, the very last day of school her and I sat down and played it until scrap brain zone and I left the console on until I got off the bus and we were both there to beat it. It was the best feeling in the world but unfortunately a few months later she had an aneurysm out of nowhere and passed. I left a note in the case of the game, superglued it shut and put it in her casket. I kept the disc despite it not working as a memory and I get extremely emotional just thinking about mega collection, as it was the most important thing to me as a kid.
Tldr I was super close to my grandma when I was little because I was an undiagnosed adhd kid so no friends and we bonded over sonic and thats why I love the character despite the shortcomings of the franchise in recent years.

Well, my story was on another video whose channel is now removed, so I'll share it here.
The year is 2006, both of my parents passed away from a terminal illness. I still had the GameCube my mother bought me in 2002.
I visited a local game store in the small town I lived in with my grandmother and picked up this game.
Upon hearing this music, all the memories came flooding back. My first Sonic game my mom bought me was Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and I played it every night for an hour after school.
She was a kind and loving woman, who was equally stern when she needed to be.
My father, a very busy man for as long as I knew him, but he always had time for the both of us.
However, when my dad started getting sick, his happiness diminished; so did my mother's. I didn't know what was going on, I was too young.
Almost 20 years later, here I am, a (medically) retired military vet with a home in my name and soon to be married in April. I sometimes boot up that old GameCube and just listen to this song. Wondering if my parents are proud of the me that I am today.

There’s something very primal in this tune, an innate longing for friendship, for love, to see ones dreams come true one day. The softer side of human instinct. An uncontrollable desire to never feel alone. Through this game many of us were able to bond with friends or as corny as it sounds, with Sonic as a character. We can listen to this and smile, cry or laugh- it really helps to bring life and all it’s experiences full circle. A beautiful instrumental.

We just lost my stepdad a few weeks ago to cancer, and I’m sitting in my living room with my pets while my partner is asleep - just thinking about life. Somehow, I always find my way back here at this song’s TH-cam page when times get tough.
Who would’ve thought we’d be in a place like this: a worldwide pandemic. People dying left and right, most of us are struggling to keep jobs and just get by without succumbing to the stress of life. I kind of had a; not rough, but still complicated upbringing. My dad raised me as a single parent and while not without love, he was/is still a VERY distant man. To top it off, I was diagnosed with clinical depression at a rather early age. Sonic was a huge part of my childhood, SA2 in particular. Until I met the girl/woman that'd become my wife of 14 years, playing and watching anything Sonic was the only thing in my life that made me happy. I owe a lot to this franchise. It really got me through some of the worst times. I'm going 38 this year and listening to this just brings back so many memories me, man. What brought back even more memories was my 12 year old son finding my box Archie Sonic comics, before the reboot. Like me, he can't get enough of this franchise. Unlike me with my old man, I'm glad we have something we can bond over.

Here’s a piece of my story - My life as a youth was full of sickness to the point that I was suicidal before I even turned 10. Sonic Spinball was the first Sonic game I ever played and brought on my love for the character. It came with my SEGA which I wanted the day I learned about it. Then comes Sonic 3; the stage music drove me to learn how to play music (piano then guitar) by ear. Then came Sonic CD. The Sonic’s amazing dedication bundled with LYRICAL music! I was reminded that “If you try, you can do anything!”, “In your heart you can find a special place to unwind!” And “Extraordinary things can happen if you believe in yourself!”. Not like my family wasn’t there for me, but events would happen that would make me even belittle myself. I was pushed to BELIEVE in myself. Then came NiGHTS Into Dreams and negativity was quelled so much. That’s years in a nutshell and not much background behind it but let me just say that Sonic Team has been a BIG influence in my drive to keep pushing through all the chaos in my life, even to this day! 31 years old and I still find solitude in this song right here. I still find myself playing NiGHTS Journey of Dreams to enjoy or just play the soundtracks in game to be taken back into Nightopia. I still find myself shredding Angel Island Zone ACT 1 and the options menu for Sonic Spinball. I’ve lived and played many games and live my entrepreneurial life as an adult but I still have Tails and NiGHTS rare figurines in my room as those two are still my favorite video game characters. So thank you Sonic Team, thank you SEGA and to everyone, remember, you’re great. “Can’t stop, So what?!” Keep going! Life doesn’t wait for you, so keep the positivity rolling and win this game of life!

I remember being around 9-10 while playing this game. I would come home after school and sit with the lights off and turn on my PlayStation 2 and go right to the extra’s menu. I had a huge window in my room that allowed for the natural light to shine through beautifully. Where my room was in the house made it to to where that window allowed me to peer out into our backyard. It was fenced in. The fence was a wooden fence that ran all the way down behind every other house on our side of the street. There were also these beautiful trees that hung over the fence. When the sun was setting in the afternoon and there was a cool breeze blowing through the trees, this song was absolutely perfect for solidifying such a still moment in time. I would look out of the window and hum along to this tune for hours. All the emotions it brings along with it was incredible. At the time, it made me think of my friendships in elementary school, the girl I was crushing on at the time, how much I loved Sonic, and what it meant to be Spider-Man (😂😭). So, just like everyone else, this song has a special place in my memories.

This music will forever be a reminder of my childhood.
The happy times I spent watching movies and playing outside with my family. Running around my house and drawing pictures with my one sibling. The endless hours I spent playing the Genesis Sonic titles. The friends that lived across the street whose houses we would come and go over to to play each other's video games. The nice neighbors that allowed me to come over whenever I wanted.
And especially the neatly tied community that was my mom's friend group in church.
In my life, this music gave me peace of mind over the thought of moving away from all that. The day I got Sonic Mega Collection for my GameCube was undoubtedly a testament to those times as it allowed me to relive a portion of my childhood in a way I never thought possible before the invention of classic game collections. Gone were the people I used to live with, but the memories forever remained. As a plus I even got to make new memories in both my gaming and real life with my newfound friends I made after moving. It was so great I never wanted it to end.
But then I graduated from high school. And the friends I made post-move have all dispersed in one way or another. And that has since kept happening with college and those who leave my current jobs. That's why this music reminds me that you ought to hold onto what you have before it's gone 'cause you never know when it's going to change. Memories may be in the past, but their essence remains in you.
All of it may be gone, but never forgotten.

This was the first time I really spent time with the classic series. Sure I’d seen them around here and there growing up, played the Adventure ports, but I was a loyal Nintendo fan, so this was my first time sitting down and getting to know classic Sonic. I was awful at Sonic 1, but spent so much time on 2 and 3. Then I found the stage select code in this book I’d bought and was able to practice the original’s tougher sections more.
Going through the extras was a blast, too. The gorgeous comic covers, the handful of stories on display, and this serene melody in the background. This is hands down my favorite collection ever.

This melody just makes me feel so much, nostalgia, happiness, sadness, all at the same time, the happy kid who just wanted to make the world a better place and be a biologist to help animals seems so distant now, like it was a different person, yet theres something that hasnt changed, i still feel like i can do anything when i look at Sonic with his iconic smirk

This game, specifically the version on PS2, made me a Sonic fan. I found it at a garage sale my school was having. I had already played Sonic 1 on a family member's phone and Colors on the Wii, but this game got me into the series. It made me search out more games to play in this series, which then lead me to the comics and TV shows. Even though I lost my copy of Mega Collection Plus, I got the original version a few months back due to getting into the GameCube again. So, thank you Sonic Mega Collection Plus, for making memories that aren't even a decade old yet, that I'll remember forever. Sure, I may only be 15, but I'll remember this game for years to come.

    The first Sonic game..
No, the first game that I owned was Sonic Mega Collection Plus. I remember spending hours trying to play Sonic & Knuckles. I never could get past that first boss (The weird woodcutter boss) but it really didn't matter to me. I was having fun just roaming around the mushroom forest, smashing badniks. And then I'd head back to the menu and just listen to this music for a bit.
There's just... something about it that even back then hit me. I can never fully explain the feeling.
...I hope when I go to see the Lord, this is the kind of music I'll be greeted with.

It's late 2002, my dad passed away from a stroke just before I finished middle school earlier in the year. My mom has been raising my brother and I but he's already close to moving out and I'm becoming more of a depressed recluse because high school sucked.
After visiting relatives in a nearby city we decide to stop by a nearby Target. It's December so it's cold, I look at the jackets while she shops around. At home I had a GameCube, the last gift my dad had gotten me. I would get a ps2 later in the month but I didn't know that yet. I'm looking in the games area and see the Sonic Mega Collection for GameCube, I'm a 90s kid so I played the older games but hadn't actually played them in many years since my brother got rid of his Genesis long ago. I didn't know ROMS were even a thing and even though I was more of a Nintendo kid I did enjoy the games. My mom came over and saw me looking at the game and asked if I wanted it, I was never even good at the old Sonic games but I desperately wanted a reminder of better times, back when my family was whole, so I said yeah, without even thinking of the $40 price tag. She bought it without a second thought and I played the game soon after at home.
I put a lot of time into the collection, I never played Sonic 1 as a kid, mainly 2 so 3 was mostly brand new to me too. I spent so much time in the extras menu, looking at the comics and art.
Thinking about it, because I haven't played the game in over a decade, this is the first time I'm hearing this song in a very long time. Being as depressed as I was this song did make me cry a few times, thinking back to the early 90s and my dad yelling for me to turn the SNES off to come to dinner.
I still have this game, something I never wanted to get rid of because of sentimental value because of that memory with my mom. Now in 2024 I can't say the depression ever left and my mother has since passed away from brain cancer in late November 2020.
Lots of emotions listening to this now. If anyone reads all this, I hope your life has been better than mine, I hope any family and pets you care about are happy and healthy, I hope you're not sitting there, crying, listening to this song.

Normally I show almost zero emotion, aside from occasional excitement with small groups of friends.

    My story:
I was just staying at my grandmother's for a week and all we had was a PS2 and a Wii. I noticed the PS2 had a Sonic game (which was of course Sonic Mega Collection) so I instantly chose to play the PS2. Me and my cousin had the PS2 upstairs and she'd just watch me play all the Sonic games. I mostly played the Game Gear games and 3D Blast since I already beat the Genesis games on a Sonic DS Collection game. Then our 8 year old selves would just have conversations about Sonic, and just life and all that, while this song would be in the background. I'd also just look at all the comic covers and just make up stories from them and tell them to my cousin. I remember her being so amazed by them too, and we'd just stay up until around 2 in the morning. This song just gives me so many memories of my younger self just loving Sonic, and not giving a damn about the reviews, what people thought of Sonic, the questionable fanbase, I just loved Sonic, and my cousin did too.
Not gonna lie, I'd also Sonic run around the backyard pretending I was Sonic, and my cousin was Tails.

Recent events in my life have made me appreciate this song more, and have a deeper connection with it. A while ago I got out my GameCube and started playing Sonic Mega Collection again. I told my girlfriend, who also had a GameCube, and we both snuck downstairs at night to play it while being on call with each other. We had a great time, and we especially loved looking through the comics and their cover arts.
Unfortunately a week ago, (as of writing this) she may no longer be with us. She sent me a long set of goodbye messages, saying thanks for everything and that she feels as if she can no longer live in this world. Nothing has 100% confirmed it, but the chances are that she has committed suicide, as she hasn’t been online at all, nor has she texted anyone else ever since. It’s been very hard without her, and this was her favourite Sonic song in the franchise. I really really miss her…
This song will always make me think of her, and the wonderful times we shared together… 💞

Played this back in 2006 for PS2, Before I even played it I was mad because I wanted to get super Mario 64 but money was low and mega was the only thing i could get at the pawn shop. I start playing and could not get off of it for months until I could finally beat it. Hardest game for me had to be the sonic pinball; I thought I beat the game until I realized I only completed the 1st level(if you beat it, you have my respect ✊). Fast forward to 2021 and I’m scrolling through TH-cam to find a video thumbnail having “History - Sonic Mega Collection”, I listen to this song and the memories flood back as if I had found an old friend, remembering the simpler times and all the years I spent with this game. Now as the beginning of 2021 is here, I have responsibilities and I get shipped out at august. History gave me that feeling of nostalgia and happiness i was missing in my life, reminding myself that I’ll be fine no matter the path. Thank you old friend, may we cross paths another day

SEGA is very different from Nintendo. SEGA allows their games and music to be used by their fans, it's all free publicity to them, and they need that to keep Sonic and their business alive. Nintendo, is a very strict business and it's legal team is actively looking for things to shut down, you can't fight back, if you do you could face strict penalties and fines. Its a shame what they do. Just look at AM2R, a game 10 years in the making, shut down merely a day after it was finished. I love Nintendo, but they are not kind to their fans in that regard. The are not losing anything or gaining anything for taking down popular channels, they are mainly gaining more hate, if anything.

@@zacharykenniston748 I wouldn't go as far as to direct hate at Nintendo, the people who are responsible for the take downs are their legal team.
It wasn't Miyamoto, or anyone else directly involved with Nintendo and it's characters, but rather their team who is responsible for copyright protection, I know it is completely within in their right to take down videos, fan games and other things related to their IPs, but they don't have to do that. SEGA doesn't mind, so why does Nintendo? Heck that is the case for most gaming companies, videos about games, game play help them gain more publicity, so they don't care, more people will buy the game after all. I know I cannot argue with the law, they are in place to protect us and our IPs (if we have any), but at the same time, I cannot help but feel as though Nintendo is not fan friendly.
Thankfully they've started listening to us, they knew we wanted prime 4, so they're working overtime to make it happen. They'll come around eventually.

I remember my mum got me the Sonic Pc Collection from a goodwill store when I was a kid. At that time I had played both Sonic Gems Collection on my PS2 and Sonic Colours on my Wii. While I enjoyed both a lot, I wasn't really that much of a sonic fan. It wasn't until playing Sonic Adventure DX (one of the games in the pc collection) that I immediately, truly fell in love with this series. Memories of dashing through speed highway, snowboarding away from an avalanche in icecap and defeating perfect chaos as super sonic with open your heart blasting away in the background, these were moments that defined my experiences of Sonic and made me a true fan and both the other games in the bundle, Sonic Heroes and Sonic Mega Collection Plus, made me love this series more. Although I was bullied in high school for my love of sonic while everyone else was playing the same boring FPS games, that never hindered my enjoyment of these games. Though sonic has had such a rollercoaster of game quality, nothing has stopped me from playing these games of my childhood and having a blast while doing so. If it weren't for sonic, I probably wouldn't be a fan of video games today. And for that, thank you sonic, for both showing me just how awesome games can be and for giving me some of the greatest childhood memories that I will cherish forever. I will always be a sonic fan, no matter what.

This makes me very happy yet very sad with my childhood.😥 Here's my story about this game. IDK
When I was like 4 or 5 years old, my parents got me a Gamecube and I was able to pick any game I wanted. I was a huge Sonic fan so Mega Collection was the first thing I wanted. Both of my parents got me this game. Besides the games, I loved looking at the illustrations and comics ( I didn't even know how to read yet at this time 😂). Soon my dad passed away after a month and I didn't even know. When I finally asked where my mom wheres my dad, and soon she explained. My heart shattered💔. Then I went to play this game and the music got to me because...do I really need to explain. Then I saw one illustration of Sonic and Tails together and this put me into tears. Yet i push this aside and focus on life.
Sorry for sad story I just need to get it off my chest.

I remember being in elementary school, flipping through the archie sonic covers and studying them for hours on end. I always had so much fun imagining what kind of stories were inside, and found many of my favorite characters just by looking at the covers. This song reminds me of being a young kid with so much hope for a brighter future, and while things are still tough, I am in a much better place, far far away from those who hurt me. It's a song of remembrance, even without your trying just hearing it brings you back to a calmer time where everything felt right.
I can see me right before I was thrown into the deep end of my teenage years, in my basement sitting infront of this chunky old flat screen with a Wii in front of it. At that age I'm starting to really discover myself for the first time, and I'm soaking in every sight and sound on this disk because I could already feel that Sonic was something that meshed with me at my core. Sitting in a recliner that was thrown out long ago, looking at a TV I helped get rid of for good, on a console we never hook up anymore, all on a table that's since been destroyed by rain and wind, it's a scene that makes me feel truly at home.
Friends that want to hang out all the time, the energy and drive to jump up at a moments notice and do something fun, the hardships and problems of the world nowhere in sight, my future too far away to worry about, and the optimism that could get me through any dark day that may come around and surprise me.
If only I could live there forever.

I long to be as happy now as I was then, I'm about to hit 24 , I've battled cancer, I've had heartache and heartbreak, I'm burdened by stresses of normal life just like so many of you, but this calms me, and yet really upsets me. So many days spent playing and listening to this in my youth, so many memories. Playing Mean Bean Machine with my Mum, playing the mainline games when my Gran was around, I'll always cherish those memories, and I'd give anything to have it back. Life for me isn't the same as it was since my illness and probably never will be , this takes me back to those times with my Mum and Nan. Nana never knew I had Cancer , we lost her to dementia and I just wish I could have told her how brave I was, just like her, the best role model. Until then, I will constantly revisit this, thank you for uploading.

Hideaki Kobayashi. Also did most of the cutscene music throughout Sonic 06 and Sonic Unleashed. I miss his pixar-esque, cinematic pieces of music.

Was absolutely heartbroken to see the original video was deleted but I have to share my story. Not much of story but more so a retelling of how this song makes me feel. Free, it takes me back to when things were easy and I'd run around my house pretending to be sonic. God growing up really isn't all its cracked out to be, huh? I'm glad there's a wonderful family of people that share this same love over this universal tune. Music is incredible. I love you all.

sonic was always that thing that would capture a childlike wonder, i always wanted to have friends like sonics and go on cool adventures. the older i got the more i realized its just that, a childlike wonder- a fantasy. i dont know how to feel knowing ill never be able to have the same feelings i had about this franchise from when i was a kid. im going to become an adult in just a few days and ive been grasping for straws listening to old songs like these from my childhood to try and just feel something again. i'm scared. i dont know if i'll ever stop being scared, but maybe that's ok. im not sure
i wish life wasn't so confusing
but i'm grateful that im able to find people that although have different stories all have a strong connection to this song
it makes me feel less alone in the world

This song just hits me like a ton of bricks.
Makes me somewhat teary, when i barely get teary at all.
It takes me back to simpler times, with my brother, playing games on his ps2, in our old parents house back in 2009-2012. What i wouldn't give to have those good times back. I'm here, listening to this at 1 am, typing this comment. How we'd use to stay up and play games like GTA SA, Dragon Ball Z Budokai, Sonic Mega Collection, Super Monkey Ball and so many more. I aughta thank my brother. He looks out for me so often. I'd love to say more, but like i said, it's 1 am and i desperately need sleep. To anyone reading this, you are loved by family and friends alike, and goodnight.

I still remember when mum got me this game, sixteen years ago. When I stumbled upon the extras, I almost fell asleep. I only avoided doing so when my cat jumped on me for attention.
And then Mum asked me what was playing - I showed her the tune. She was the one who got me into video games.

Brawl may had his channel terminated, but this one piece of music will always be my favorite to go back to every now and then. Listening away to this while drawing and reading the comments of the original video on how this music made an impact on people who had listen to it.
All of those comments may be gone, but not forgotten. All we can do now is rebuild what was the most heartfelt comment section it previously had.

Same. I remember being one of those comments because this game was something else when my Dad first got it at Hollywood Video at the time in 2005. This experience was so special to me as a longtime Sonic fan.

Reinhard Luntungan I left a comment on the same video too, my impact with this piece of music was looking at all of art work, mostly the comic book covers.
I remember years back in when I first had the game and reliving Sonic 3, I stumbled across the Extras menu, and I was shocked that they made comics, it was my first time ever knowing they even existed as well as obscure Sonic characters like Fang and Mighty, and introducing me to the Freedom Fighters and the Sonic Sat AM cartoon.

@@IAmInfinitus208 j read your comic about your dad getting it at Hollywood Video. It really brought tears to my eyes. I believe I read another one where one guy's dad got it for him for christmas, and it's what introduced him to sonic. Ever since then, he would play it with his dad every christmas and man did it make me tear up.

@@ariaofthe6strings230 That was actually my 2nd Sonic game. The first two games I ever had for the PS2 (my first video game console, prior to that I was playing on Dad's Aptiva IBM computer with Windows 98 which he later gave to me) was Jampack Vol. 13 which introduced me to the PlayStation trio, Sly, Jak & Ratchet, & Sonic Heroes my first Sonic game.

every once in a while i come back to this song and every time i see this comments section and im reminded how important video games are to me and to the human race in general.
sonic 2 was the first game i ever played and its how i connected with my cousin who i dont talk with much anymore. i got super into super smash bros because of sonic and through smash was how i met most of my friends. my life has gone to the worst places and truly beat my ass as a kid and still now. at one point, id considered taking my own life. but those friends i met though those games and our shared interests have changed my life for the better. I formed unforgettable memories with these friends. They were always there to encourage me if i tried to do something. they were always there for me when things went down in my life ready to help. they gave me undying support though my still hazey questioning of my gender. even though the fights and bullshit were still there for one another throughout our lives and i could not be happier to have met them, all thanks to this dumb blue circle.
to me, this theme isnt just to cherish the history that youve made in the past, but also to tell you that you are important and loved enough to be around today and in the future so that you can *make* history
