    Mate. Cheers for the video. Exact same issue with the same model. Didn't need to replace any parts as I just didn't install the rotor correctly after pulling it all apart to clean it properly. Thought it might have been full of sludge. Legend!

      Yeah, thanx mate!! 😺. We have a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher in Pittsburgh, PA cos I loved the one we had when we lived in Australia. More gonna have to check that the rotor isn't the issue. It's still under warranty so not too worried yet.

    If you still have the five white blades on the rotor on the unit and not missing and they are very loose, lost their stiffness then try the following. White blades that have lost any firmness will not drain the washer. Coat the white blades with three rounds of super glue and let that sit overnight. This will restore the blade strength and water will drain out of the unit. Has worked for me and may save you a bit of money.

    Such a good problem solving video - especially where you inserted it wrong at first and then explained what you had done wrong and how you corrected it. That said, I would have loved to have seen you attempt the 3D print you mentioned, but maybe the risk of killing the entire dishwasher was too great.

    Thank you for this amazing video. I ordered the new part, installed it and it’s been working fine. After a few successful cycles it is now making weird sounds. It’s not the incorrectly inserted part (I did that too at first but then corrected it), I am wondering if it’s the spray arm. Is there a way to connect it besides just playing it on top of the newly purchased part? Any help appreciated.

    • @jelreviews
      @jelreviews  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Glad it helped - sorry, I'm no expert with this except for my experience in what I showed on the video. However, double check your installation of rotor motor again. I installed my slightly incorrectly and - although it worked and drained the water out, it still made a weird sound, just wasn't right. So I reinstalled it until it simply fit in nicely - and then no more noise. Personally, I've never had issues with the spray arm, however double check it, make sure it's properly cleaned out and the holes on it are clear. That's what I'd look at first.

    • @Bubaglobalj
      @Bubaglobalj 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jelreviews Hi there, I did do that same mistake you mentioned and was able to correct it. I'm happy to report I also fixed the other weird sounds. There is a plastic circle thingie that sits on top of the rotor motor. I didn't realize it had to be secured tight by turning it clockwise until it fits snug. I think not doing that had led the spray arm to sit loose and that made the weird sounds. All good now, thanks for your video it made me feel proud and accomplished and saved me a few bucks!

    would like to add here. There are 3d printed motors being sold on Ebay, total scam. Watch for those that have larger than original impeller blades. The motors are marketed as "used" justifying a low price but they are actually 3d printed, with no scuffs whatsover but the impeller area to sit in pool of water is not re-created like the original rendering them totally useless. The design does not allow for forceful sideways into the drain expulsion of the water. wASTE OF MONEY AND SCAMMERS RUNNING FREE

    I wonder if you can tell me what might be wrong with our DD603; it refused to drain during a cycle and since then we're unable to get it working at all, but it doesn't display a fault code. It's been about a week and we're still waiting for the landlord to even approve the maintenance request, let alone book a technician, so the water that was in the tub has all drained away now, but when we try to start a cycle it just beeps four times. The first three beeps are the same note and the fourth is around five notes down. No error message is displayed on the LCD or the cycle selection LEDs, it just beeps and nothing changes. I cycled the power at the outlet but that didn't change anything, and I've removed / cleaned the base plate, impeller, and motor, and I've also disconnected the drain hose on the sink side but no water came out of it. I'm not able to disconnect the hose from the dishwasher side because I can't reach it, so I'm not sure if the hose itself is clogged.
    Any idea what it could be? The fact there's no error code is very annoying, I would have thought that if the machine knows enough that it won't even let you start a cycle then it must surely know enough to tell you what it knows.
    Cheers mate, appreciate any advice you might be able to offer.

    • @jelreviews
      @jelreviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm, I'm no expert however I briefly checked some forums that seemed to suggest that if the dishwasher is beeping but no error codes, then it is likely to be a problem with the control board. I've had a few problems with mine over the years but generally there has usually been an error code for me to investigate further. Here's a site that might offer some other troubleshooting you could consider: machineanswered.com/fisher-paykel-dishwasher-troubleshooting/
      And here's one more: www.easilyfixit.com/fisher-and-paykel-dishdrawer-dishwasher-beeping/
      Sorry, can't help further than that, hope you get it fixed soon.

      @sfdntk ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jelreviews I appreciate the reply mate, it's a head scratcher for sure. I'll check those links out, hopefully I'll at least be able to get a fault code to narrow things down.

    • @sfdntk
      @sfdntk ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's fixed! So it turns out the beeping sound is the tone it plays when the drawer isn't closed properly, that's why there was no fault code. The reason it couldn't sense the drawer was closed is because some idiot who "repaired" this dishwasher a while back (before we moved in) snapped off a tiny little board support attached to the controller, and I guess over time the controller shifted until the alignment on the light sensor was out of whack so it could no longer properly detect whether the door was closed. The irony is that I almost figured this out myself when I had the machine in diagnostic mode, the key lock symbol is supposed to light up whenever the drawer is closed but I noticed it wasn't lighting up at all, however instead of realising that the sensor wasn't working I figured I must have misunderstood the manual, and disregarded it entirely.
      To fix it, the technician had to add a screw to hold the controller in place so the sensor lines up with the two light channels next to it; not the best fix but the best he could do under the circumstance since there are no replacement boards available for the DD603 any more.
      As for the leaking, he seems confident that it's caused by the dishwasher tablets we're using. The DD603 is a half-sized drawer model, and so using dishwasher tablets, which are designed for full sized models, causes the water to be excessively foamy. The DD603 detects the water level by measuring how many amps the motor draws as it's pumping water, and because the water is extra foamy the motor experiences less resistance and spins more freely, therefore drawing fewer amps, and it tricks the controller into thinking the water level is too low, so it keeps adding more water until it overflows. The solution is to switch to a powder detergent and use half as much as the recommended amount. Apparently the DD603 usually has two little plastic prongs in the detergent tray specifically designed to discourage you from using tablets, but some idiot has clearly snapped them off!
      Anyway it's all fixed now, no more hand washing thank Christ. It's all quite ingenious really, utterly fascinating to learn how these machines work and the complex methods they use to determine various operating states.
      I hope this helps someone else in the future, and thanks again for your kind advice!
