I had the old Fisher Paykel dish drawers (installed 2005) and loved them. They were wearing out and requiring service calls, so instead of putting more money into them, we bought new ones. What a mistake! First, our dishes didn't fit. That's right. The dishes we had been using since 2005 now didn't fit in 2019. I contacted them and they said, oh, sure they do. I had to send them a video to prove the top wouldn't close. They still acted as if this was my fault. I bought a whole new set of dishes, having to bring sample after sample of dinner plates home to be sure they fit, not only in height (diameter of plate) but also depth of lip because (surprise) the space between the brackets for the dishes is also considerably smaller than the previous model. Now, in addition to my aggravation, the drawers only clean well when I space the dishes in every other slot, which, of course, reduces the number of dishes per load. I am still spitting mad, and, if I didn't have the two dish drawers configured on either side of my sink, I would have forced the company to take these back and installed a conventional dishwasher. Upshot: Don't buy these.
I remember seeing a drawer dishwasher in Macy's back in 2005 and I was absolutely in love with it. It was the perfect size, very water-efficient. Now I actually have the money to buy these things and I can't find one quite the same!

Just got This dishwasher and me and the wife are very happy with it. Performance is perfect and when it is being used you can’t hear it it’s almost like if it’s not even on so I recommend it 100%
Previously had a Fisher Paykel double draw for 16 years and loved . Just put that out to pasture. I just purchased this model and looking forward for many years of service. Great product.
Same here. Had their Gen 2 that came with its own quirks and 'features', for 18 years. We left it in the house we moved out from in full working order. BTW, F&P design team corrected all of the quirks by the Gen 4 and that was long ago. This is Gen 7 (or Series 7) now. Big thumbs up for F&P! We just got this model (DD60DCX9 as in video above) few month ago in our new house and couldn't be happier.
I have had the older version double drawer for the past 12 years, it has worked perfectly well with no service or change of parts for that long. Amazingly beautiful piece of machine, and being a double drawer brings all the uniqueness & slickness in my kitchen. It’s one of a kind and am now looking forward to the new version double drawer. Good job F & P on this machine hope the new versions are absolutely amazing
I wanted to love this dishwasher so badly. I really like the look of it and thought that having the drawers would be very convenient in terms of washing one while filling the other on a day to day basis or using both after a party. As a family of 4 use to turn on old dishwasher every 2-3 days - F&P is daily. Good stuff: it does work - clean dishes very well, super quiet, lots of washing selections depending on what’s required. The BAD Stuff: the capacity and loading restrictions are brutal. Because you need to make sure that everything has clear access to water jet you simply cannot get as much in. If you use the wine glass holders you effectively lose two rows on the bottom especially with larger glasses. The angled row is a complete pain to get multiple bowls in regardless of the width of the racks and they just don’t sit right and wind up knocking against the glasses in the adjacent row. The cutlery rack & divider is also useless unless you have very narrow handles - I have larger cutlery and none of it fits in using the separators. If you want to wash large cutting boards or serving dishes - FORGET ABOUT IT - they simply won’t fit unless you lay them flat and the only thing in there ergo a complete waste of energy and water. Same thing with pots - I am never going to use a dishwasher for 3 pots and lids for 144 minutes vs washing/drying them by hand in 10 minutes. Overall - for a single person might be great for a family or ppl who like to entertain get a traditional style.
You realize each drawer is effectively half the size of a regular dishwasher, right? So if you normally turn your old one on 2 times its not rocket science or surprising that this one will get turned on daily.
And to claim they're a waste of water and energy is complete nonsense. These use less than half the water of a regular dishwasher and way less energy. The motor in each unit is DC not AC and extremely efficient.
LOL my office has the F&P 2 drawer dishwasher in both offices we've occupied (moved from a small one to a much bigger one). After the monthly company BBQs, we load both drawers to the max and everything comes out clean. No problems with over loading it
This is ideal for RV use. By having one drawer for dirty and one drawer for clean you save space in the RV by not having to put your dishes in the cabinet. There is the added benefit of the locking feature that secures your dishes on travel day. It is truly perfect for this and should be marketed for that purpose as well.
I love my dish FP drawers and have installed them in the last three homes we have lived in. One thing I found is that these drawers require less dish detergent per load than regular dishwashers. For that reason I don’t use the commercial dish “pods”, but rather a small amount of powdered detergent.
We have the same F&P dish-draw and we dont use the drawer select button. When you close the drawer, it auto selects the closed drawer, then you choose your settings. I find this very intuitive because you will always be closing the drawer you’re about to wash. All the best
We rarely use ours and it breaks down. Repair cost almost as much as a new unit. Like the drawer idea but don’t think I will buy another. America used to sell products that lasted, now they are disposable! This is one of those!
I purchased my first drawer dishwasher in 2009. Was very happy with it and really liked the system. Recently replaced it and am not pleased with 2 factors - prewash water is not hot and it does not dry the dishes at all. Very disappointed and would not purchase again. Called customer service and they were not at all helpful, in fact rather rude.
As a note for people that may have issues with dishes not cleaning, if your model has it, some of these have an option to choose your water 'hardness'(mineral content) - so it sets the dishwasher to work the best for your water supply.
This is the dishwasher for me! Used a small drainboard for decades, tired of it taking up much valuable counter space. Thanks for the review and demonstration and posting the link, you sold me.
Thank you for doing a thorough review. I LOATHE this dishwasher. Nothing much fits, the lower one is too low for my husband to unload, so I always end up doing it. Plus, when you have to unload two drawers on the same day it really becomes a monotonous process. Mine is currently stuck closed with both drawers full of dishes. I was running the bottom only and somehow ended up with an error message for the top drawer! The message is not even mentioned in my user manual. The reset button is not doing a thing. I had to unplug it and it still is locked. This came in an apartment that we bought. Otherwise, would not have it at all. I do not think that the inconveniences are worth the few conveniences. Unless you have a tiny kitchen and rarely cook.
We've had one for 8 yrs, its had a fair few breakdowns and F&P have sorted it out every time even 1 time where its warentee had expired by over 1 year. This dishwasher works well for our lifestyle and even though its had its problems i would still purchase it again.
In the video, you show yourself using gel dishwasher detergent, but the owner's manual that came with my brand new DD24DAW9N says to NOT use gel dishwasher detergent. I read about this online, and the best guess we have is that the drain hoses on these F&Ps are a little smaller than a normal dishwasher and the gel can eventually clog up the discharge hose.
How would a gel clog the discharge hose? It won't clean unless it is highly diluted with water, which will wash easily through any hose that water will go through. And even if some did not mix with the hot water, it WILL mix eventually and flow down the tube. I have been wondering this exact same thing (and my search led me to this vid).
We have had the double drawer unit for over 13 years now with no major problems although the valve for feeding incoming water is now becoming a problem on the top drawer, Other than that, very little problems. My son has had a Kitchen aid and a Bosch full size dishwasher in the time our unit has been installed. We are considering replacing our unit with another FP double drawer sometime soon,
Hello. Maybe you can help me with a project. Can you remember what you paid (approx) for your DishDrawer back in the day? It would also help to know the country where you purchased it. Thanks in advance!
I have had a double unit of the prior generation for 6 years now. My observation is that was the 2nd generation of these dishdrawers. It requires thinking outside the box for one to learn to appreciate them over time. I am always worried if a new product is an improvement over the older version. My versions biggest drawback was breaking handles. At $250 CAD a set just for pieces of plastic, that is way crazy. So, in the end, it would have been nice to have in big bold letters on cover page of owner manual something saying "never attempt to open drawer when machine in cycle". So with new version, I suspose this maybe fixed. Second big letdown of prior gen was filter plate rubber seal and rubber at filter plug. All disintegratring over time with use if a bit of hardness in water. The new model here looks to have much better setup with no filter plate at all and round filter cartidge instead of that bad bean shape the prior generation has. Keeping an eye on stable spray arms has always been very important as I caugght them having lifed off a few times and by the same problem, ending up destroying the blades of water propellers. So, I see a new swing arm here. I like it but, does it clean as good as the old set up? Also, the max time for a cycle on prior gen was 128 minutes. I see here almost 3 hour cycle for the longest one. I have learned to live with the long cycles of the prior gen but, wow,,,this one is becoming long. Regardless, for my future new home, I am thinking to leave my current no longer available generation behind and take a chance on this one. I hope I will not long for the one I leave behind. About the dishes to fit...well, I would do what most people don't do, buy dishes that fit your dishwasher and not shop for a dishwasher that will fit your dishes. That would be backwards. With dish drawers, this approach mentailty is even more important. Trust me.
Prior to that, I had a Whirlpool dishwasher that was loud like a truck, used gallons of water and soap but, never cost me a dime in repairs over 20 years of daily use...it is hard to satisfy all angles of ownership. Now that I pay for water and the cost of soap, I am willing to deal with a bit of repairs and fragile stuff but...come on....250$ for a pair of plastic handles?
Couple other brands ... KitchenAid had drawer units for a few years starting in 2004 or 2005. Their first-generation model was a rebadged F&P. Second-generation KA was a different mechanical design that Whirlpool got via Maytag when they bought the company. It was marketed under the KA, Maytag, and Kenmore Elite labels.
I remember seeing the Kitchen Aid drawer dishwasher when I was shopping after my conventional DW went out on Christmas Day 2006. I thought it was too expensive to consider at the time. I bought one for my recent kitchen remodel and I just love it!
I bought the double drawer unit in 2005. Every few years the PCB board had to be replaced, as it would get stuck on "rinse" ... costing approx $400 incl labour, each time
Hello. Maybe you can help me with a project. Can you remember what you paid (approx) for your DishDrawer in 2005? It would also help to know the country where you purchased it. Thanks in advance!
As a current owner of 2003 double drawer "perfectly" is not exactly the word I would use :) Unit has a lot of quirks, but if you are handy and could find a way to fix it - it is a great. I can't see myself using a non-drawer, but honestly my unit has a very long problem list that I had to take care of.
I had a Fisher Paykel. It looked great and It was great at first and after a few years it just started falling apart. I would never buy one again. I hoped that for the price I paid for that unit that it would last but it didn't. I now have an LG and it blows away the Fisher Paykel double door.
HOW DO I TURN ON THE DISHWASHER? THE CONTROLS ARE ON THE INSIDE OF THE TOP DRAWER. I PUSH FAST THEN THE BUTTON ON THE FAR RIGHT ONCE. NOTHING HSPPENS AND THE DISHWASHER DOESN'T START. Help please!
The previous generations had two sets of controls, one per drawer. Was definitely a better setup in my opinion, albeit one requiring more bending down.
Bought the F&P dishdrawers in 2003 and they lasted until 2019, with never any issues. I got used to them pretty quick and liked them very much. I replaced the drawers with an AEG comfort-lift dishwasher and I feel that I should have purchased another set of dish drawers. With the AEG dishwasher I often find that I have dishes left in the sink. That was never a problem with the drawers. Also, loading the drawers there was never any spillage or splashing, which is an issue with the AEG. To avoid this you have to make sure that all residual liquids are tipped from cups and plates or they’ll splash, YUK! I also don’t feel that I have gained much space and capacity with the AEG. I am looking for an excuse to get rid of the AEG to buy another set of drawers.
Hello. Maybe you can help me with a project. Can you remember what you paid (approx) for your DishDrawer in 2003? It would also help to know the country where you purchased it. Thanks in advance!
I have had mine for almost 18 years and I love mine. I have to replace it now but it gets used everyday so worth it. The only thing I would warn People is don’t put dishes in with any dish soap and don’t open mid cycle to add something you forgot. But great machine for people that treat equipment well. Not for people that are hard on stuff.
Hey Gwen - If you've had yours for 18years, it is one of the old models. The old ones were fantastic! DON'T GET RID OF IT... Fix the old one... The new models are useless! I regret getting rid of the dishdrawer I bought in 2005 - I raced out and bought the new model and it is heaps smaller and doesn't wash properly - very disappointed. Hang on to yours!
Hello. Maybe you can help me with a project. Can you remember what you paid (approx) for your DishDrawer in-checks math-2002? It would also help to know the country where you purchased it. Thanks in advance!
I have had mine for 8 years. I have 2 drawers one either side of the sink. We are a family of 4 and we use it a lot. One of the drawers broke. Turns out the drying fan is broken and it would cost $300 to fix because I live far from any approved repairman. They are changing $150 to drive the extra miles. The rack on the inside is also starting to rust on both units.
I've had this dishwasher for about 4 months now and I can honestly say it's not the best. My previous GE dishwasher cleaned way way better. With this one, I always find myself finding food stuck to forks and plates on every cycle. It's a shame because this costs 2x 3x the average dishwasher, yet it does 2x 3x less of the job.
I agree! I used to have one of the older models but now I have the DD60DCX9. The older model was fantastic but this one just doesn't clean properly! I don't understand why F&P had to change what was a really good product and make it really useless.
Try adding some powder to the smaller section of the holder. They seem a bit vague about this, as just being for dirtier loads, but I think it might be for the pre-rinse - it's possible this could make quite a difference. The different cycles may also make quite a difference.
I like it so much very efficient but i got many problems with pump/Motor & electric panel spare parts are expenses you end up prefering to change it instead of fixing it
Thank you for your review! :) We are looking to get a set again. We had one many years ago, and loved it, but When it broke, we didn't fix it and got a regular dish washer. Not a fan. Want to come back.
Well I replaced the twin drawer I had to one like this, I can confirm that both drawers are exactly the same size, as was the old one. My old one is perfectly fine . Had for 10 years or so. Giving to daughter.
the instructions say powder detergent only in the dispense, which isn't very common in th US anymore. did you have issues using the Gel detergent in the dispenser?
Hailer will tranfer tech from FISHER AND PAYKEL to it. Raising quality Hailer same time reducing quality reliable to raise more benefit by saling parts and the service customer.
@@mikele8476 The dishdrawers seem to have improved with each newer model, both before & after the company was sold. They'd already moved manufacturing overseas years before Haier bought the shares anyway. I live in NZ, so they're relatively common here. Several family members have had them, and been happy with them. For example, when my parents moved, they bought another one after having previously had one for many years. The oldest ones(they were first made in the late 90s) had some flaws that caused problems after a number of years, but all the later models seem fine. F&P are no longer the only company making drawer dishwashers, as it seems the patent has expired(here at least), though the only other brand I've seen so far is Midea.
@@DoubleMonoLR OF courrse tech alwway improve with time . Most relate to late model relating to heater element . Some other still in double !!! Since each drawwer very sensitive to what to going on to any part of the overall. Combime 2 control into one on the new model not the improve cause more difficult to tracking đơn when ever trouble coming up. also bêhide that each "independent" to other is not.. I am working in Australia many year around DD605 basic LCD model is the best among all model if it well maintenance can service 50 years no problem.
Man the indicator for the drawer selection is so bad! How hard would it be to just have the light of the select drawer show solid instead of the blinking light? Confusing.
We have had one for many years been great, Are you sure the lower drawer is smaller as mine are both the same, top looks bigger as it's a full panel on the front, the lower has the kick panel so under the drawer a bit so gives the impression it's smaller. Can you confirm actual size ? Open both drawers and look from the side .
I have had several dish drawers in my 2 homes. Most were good. My current one bought in 2016, runs about an extra 2 hours. We have had 2 service companies work on it so far with several parts . No one has been able to resolve it so far. I want the, to replace it for me.
lol the icon says if its upper unit or lower unit... It can not be more clearer than that. If i dont now what a button does guess what i read the manual
We have had draw dishwasher DD24 and DD060 for 10 years I just love it, but at the moment our control panel to pick what dishwasher setting to use keeps flashing, the arrow butter won’t move along to pick the setting what sound I do to fix this or has anybody had this problem

Just a note to anyone thinking of making a review video, don't use needless fill talk, get to the point and present information by the 10 second mark. I literally skipped half way through this video and finally found information that was useful.
I hate mine. glasses have a cloudy film and so do utensils. Can only wash dishes cups and bowls. Was advised to not use pods which would be awfully convenient. Have never used bottom drawer but it beeps after I use top drawer and I have to push button on lower drawer. No big deal but weird.
I really love the look and design of Fisher & Paykel's gas ranges and refrigerators. I'm nervous about buying them, however. I am terrified about durability. Would you recommend this company? If I spend my savings for these appliances I want them to be care free for years to come and if there should be an issue, will Fisher & Paykel fix their products or will they blow me off after their two year manufacturers warranty?
you are an orphan after 2 yrs is up .. after 2 and half yrs my 2020 stopped draining and beeps error code A3 .. appliance repair back flushed it charging $ 290 for 30 minute 'visit ' 4 months later happened again .. had to reroute drain hose ,s shortened it by 50 % and mo more loop around the cupboard wall beside it ,, dont think the pump is up to the task .. and why it takes 2 hours ro wash a load ? no more F'/P dishdrawers when this one blows up again
Yeah, there should be a removable shelf that fits in the cutlery rack. That's where I put mt Kirkland dishwasher pacs. That said, the dishwasher works better with 1-2 tsp of regular powdered dishwasher detergent. It doesn't like to be overfilled with dishwashing powder.
Here in NZ, I think a lot of people just use powder in them(my family does anyway, the tablets seem kind of pointless/expensive/wasteful) There's instructions for a 2017 model here: producthelp.fisherpaykel.com/eu/Clean/DishDrawer%E2%84%A2/Double/DD60DAHX9/User_Guide_DD60DAHX9/08_Adding_detergent I suppose there might be variations for different markets, but I'd imagine they're generally very similar.
Can this be installed with ONLY ONE drawer and be fully functional? Or, does one need to order them as a PAIR only? In my case both drawers upper and lower would not fit but ONE would. But can these units run completely independently of each other as long as they have water supply, drain and power?
The two drawer is one complete unit, but you can buy single drawer versions of all the models. www.fisherpaykel.com/nz/kitchen/dishwashing/dishdrawer.html
Considering this as a minimalist setup where one drawer is for dirty dishes while the other is clean dishes, and just rotating dishes after use from one compartment to the other alternating. Any advice or comments on this idea? A couple of issues I can imagine are needing to have a small dish set, needing some dishes more frequently than others and therefore still needing a dry cabinet, possible issues with dirty or cleaned but damp dishes sitting in a confined space for too long? Has anyone seen or tried this?
I find that my dish drawer is really inefficient on washing pots and especially woks. The wok bottom comes out as it is never been cleaned. Where else in standard dishwasher that I used in the past, the won comes out like brand new. Any tips on washing wok in dish drawer ?
Yep- don't. You shouldn't wash pans in dishwasher, certainly not a wok- your pans will last MUCH longer. I don't really think the dish drawers are made for huge pots- only has the one sprayer at the bottom.
@@paula1758 I think that depends on the material more than anything, it might be rough on non-stick coatings, and perhaps aluminium or copper etc, but I think stainless steel should be fine. They can take up a massive amount of space though.
When he lifted up the filter, there was a lot of water pooled at the bottom. I have the same problem with the older generation. Is there a way to ensure that all the water gets pumped out? Or is that normal?
It's form molded plastic as one piece for two reasons; one, so it has no ability to leak and two, it's much quieter than water banging off of metal. The only way to seal this with SS is with silicone caulking or welding/brazing it together. That's not going to be as waterproof as a single formed piece of hardened plastic.
Seems like a major complaint in that the value to having 2 drawers is to control using either the top or bottom drawer and if that's not easy, I feel like the value is lost.
Yes. I did it by accident last week. Thought I was just washing the bottom drawer and woke up to both sets of dishes feeling warm! After watching this video, I now understand the controls better. It was only installed about 3 weeks ago, so I've only used it about a dozen times so far.
Moved house and the home we are in came with a f&p dish drawer. It's rubbish at cleaning the dishes compared to our Panasonic. Never will purchase in the future.
I thought I did. Noise level is not bad. It's no Miele or Bosch, but on par with virtually any other typical midrange dishwasher (GE, Kitchenaid, Whirlpool, Samsung)
@@ApplianceBuyersGuide My LG is quieter- and probably more reliable- than every brand you just named other than Bosch, has a stainless steel compartment and it comes with a 10-year warranty on the direct-drive motor.

I love my dish FP drawers and have installed them in the last three homes we have lived in. One thing I found is that these drawers require less dish detergent per load than regular dishwashers. For that reason I don’t use the commercial dish “pods”, but rather a small amount of powdered detergent.
When we designed it, the two tubs were the same size. They look different from the outside due to the kick strip at the bottom.
If you adjust the settings just after you close one drawer, the settings will apply to the drawer you just closed.
And rinse aid is essential.
We had this since 2009 and still working great. Very happy with the purchase
Having trouble with ours? I’m so done with this? Not knowing the model number, we’re 2nd owners.
Could you do a video with you putting really dirty dishes in and what they are like when they come out I'd like to see how efficient they are
We have had the double drawer unit for over 13 years now with no major problems although the valve for feeding incoming water is now becoming a problem on the top drawer, Other than that, very little problems.
Did your son have a lot of issues with their Kitchen Aid and Bosch one compared to your FP?
My 2002 double drawer has worked perfectly now for 18 years.
As a current owner of 2003 double drawer "perfectly" is not exactly the word I would use :)
Unit has a lot of quirks, but if you are handy and could find a way to fix it - it is a great.
I can't see myself using a non-drawer, but honestly my unit has a very long problem list that I had to take care of.
actually dishdrawer just like bicycle. That mean dishdrawer can service 100 year if you well maintenace it.dd603,dd605 the best all model around
Hang on to it! The newer models are nothing like these older ones!
We discussed this as well. It's a catch-22, neither solution is perfect. An inherent issue with having two drawers I think.
Agreed ,I think the older design was better.
The trickiest thing is thd installation. My GC did it and there’s far too many parts left over. I have to pay for a pro re-install.
Great point, with a traditional dishwasher I always get water on the floor when loading
The only thing I would warn
People is don’t put dishes in with any dish soap and don’t open mid cycle to add something you forgot.
I hear ya. Just like with people I was all all about looks. Very good looking unit but doesn't do the job! I certainly didn't get what I payed for.
F&P manual states to use powder (crystal) detergent only, NOT gel as shown in this video.
Hard for me to believe this cleans as well as a good standard DW with multiple spray arms etc.
Well I replaced the twin drawer I had to one like this, I can confirm that both drawers are exactly the same size, as was the old one. My old one is perfectly fine . Had for 10 years or so. Giving to daughter.
One reason that drove the design was to eliminate redeposition of food from really soiled pots and pans onto glassware.
the instructions say powder detergent only in the dispense, which isn't very common in th US anymore. did you have issues using the Gel detergent in the dispenser?
Have you noticed any change in quality since Haier's takeover of Fisher Paykel in 2012?
What type and size cabinet do I need for the 24” single drawer dishwasher?
Man the indicator for the drawer selection is so bad! How hard would it be to just have the light of the select drawer show solid instead of the blinking light? Confusing.
Lift the dishrack from the back first to remove it, not from the front. Do the reverse when setting it back in ... front first.
Is there a mintue countdown on the front? so you know how many minutes to go.
I'm lazy , can I use the bottom draw as a place to store my dirty dishes while I eat off the clean ones in the top drawer? Do you get what I mean?
Elijah - that’s not lazy... that’s smart
Yes ive done it s few times.
Yes you can that is one of the advantages of dish drawers.
Another great use for these is ice and drinks for parties. Then just run the dishwasher to melt and get rid of the ice when done!
lol the icon says if its upper unit or lower unit... It can not be more clearer than that. If i dont now what a button does guess what i read the manual
Recently the power in the house switches off when we turn the dishwasher powerbon
I didn't think the function button was a problem at all, With most things, They normally come with a User Manual, that no one likes to read ?
wondering if there is a substantial energy savings when using one drawer only
We have had draw dishwasher DD24 and DD060 for 10 years I just love it, but at the moment our control panel to pick what dishwasher setting to use keeps flashing, the arrow butter won’t move along to pick the setting what sound I do to fix this or has anybody had this problem
This happens to me every few years, and requires the PCB board to be replaced. Not cheap, especiallyif you are paying F&P rates for a service call!
Dish draws have a been in production for 25 years a double unit both draws are the same size
I bought a home with the one with the double drawer and it does not clean well at all. Always food leaves on the dishes even after rinsing first.
I can’t fit my square dinner plates in my draw any suggestions
Skip half way through to get to the content. This guy loves the sound of his voice..... GET TO THE POINT!!!!!
Just a note to anyone thinking of making a review video, don't use needless fill talk, get to the point and present information by the 10 second mark. I literally skipped half way through this video and finally found information that was useful.
Hey but aren't we all interested in WHY he put the dishwasher in the staff kitchen? I was waiting to hear what he had for lunch, and why, too.
Is the stainless steel show fingerprints?
How do u use both at the same
Time
Does anyone know how much clearance in inches the FP drawer needs when opened for loading?
Since F&P belongs to Haier now, have they shifted where these are made?
They already had, they moved most manufacturing overseas in 2008, Haier bought majority shares in 2012.
Haier also owns GE appliances
FYI the owner's manually specifically states to not use liquid detergent in the detergent dispenser :p
They will definitely blow you off. Read the reviews.
you are an orphan after 2 yrs is up .. after 2 and half yrs my 2020 stopped draining and beeps error code A3 .. appliance repair back flushed it charging $ 290 for 30 minute 'visit '
4 months later happened again .. had to reroute drain hose ,s shortened it by 50 % and mo more loop around the cupboard wall beside it ,, dont think the pump is up to the task .. and why it takes 2 hours ro wash a load ? no more F'/P dishdrawers when this one blows up again
Hello do you happen to know where soap tablets go? Detergent pill? Not sure what it's called lol
A whole pod for half size dishwasher is too much soap- does that make sense? Just pour some detergent in.
Here in NZ, I think a lot of people just use powder in them(my family does anyway, the tablets seem kind of pointless/expensive/wasteful)
There's instructions for a 2017 model here:
producthelp.fisherpaykel.com/eu/Clean/DishDrawer%E2%84%A2/Double/DD60DAHX9/User_Guide_DD60DAHX9/08_Adding_detergent
I suppose there might be variations for different markets, but I'd imagine they're generally very similar.
@@paula1758 the instruction say to only use powder if using the dispenser in the door
You might as well get the single drawer model instead. Although with the double you could wash more when needed.
How does it do with pot crubber
Great review! Thank you guys...
What kind of detergent to you use. I have been using cubes but the detergent ends up all over my glassware
I was told by a serviceman to use a small amount of powdered detergent..about a heaping teaspoon per load.
Thank you this saved my sanity!
how far the drawers open in inches?
When he lifted up the filter, there was a lot of water pooled at the bottom. I have the same problem with the older generation. Is there a way to ensure that all the water gets pumped out? Or is that normal?
its normal its to keep the seal from craking
What is the time of the quickest cycle?
mine dishdrawer is 43 minutes on the quick cycle and it works a treat
Why dont they put stainless steel inside these?
Another appliance reviewer said because it raised the noise of the wash cycle
It's form molded plastic as one piece for two reasons; one, so it has no ability to leak and two, it's much quieter than water banging off of metal. The only way to seal this with SS is with silicone caulking or welding/brazing it together. That's not going to be as waterproof as a single formed piece of hardened plastic.
They've always been like that, since they were first made in the 90s.
Proper pronunciation is Fisher and "Piekull". I know because I helped design the dishdrawer.
Seems like a major complaint in that the value to having 2 drawers is to control using either the top or bottom drawer and if that's not easy, I feel like the value is lost.
So helpful ! I am putting this unit on my short list.
Can you run both drawers at the same time?
Yes. I did it by accident last week. Thought I was just washing the bottom drawer and woke up to both sets of dishes feeling warm! After watching this video, I now understand the controls better. It was only installed about 3 weeks ago, so I've only used it about a dozen times so far.
Nice!! I need one of these

Didn’t mention noise level.
I thought I did. Noise level is not bad. It's no Miele or Bosch, but on par with virtually any other typical midrange dishwasher (GE, Kitchenaid, Whirlpool, Samsung)

What should we use. The tablets does not fit. Should we use powder? We just bought a house and it has a brand new unit.
