For a 2 player starter, where you can split the box and each person has everything they need to go and play with other people, not just who they split the box with, is amazing. When I opened my copy to split I was nicely surprised at just how much is crammed into that box. Good job Warcradle.
Great game. I love how it simplified Dystopian Wars. Much less flipping back and forth for weapon profiles and such. I've been having a lot of fun with it
I've been waiting for Warcradle to release this since they bought the Dystopian Wars IP from Spartan Games. I picked up the sets and rule books for the 1st and 2nd edition of Dystopian Wars, and the land battles and armoured tanks were my favourite part of the game. Loved the old resin models, but looking forward to picking up a starter set for this game and the plastic models.
For Dystopian Wars the faction starters all come with dice, tokens, measuring tool, a FULL rulebook, plus the actual starter army. For roughly $80 US, it’s pretty good value. Hopefully Armored Clash follows the same path as they expand the line.
I love the smaller scale miniatures- lets you play battles that actually look like battles! I bought two of these starter sets as it looked such good value for money, and I like both of the factions!
Very interesting. I’ve been expanding my BattleTech collection beyond mechs, into tanks and infantry (even boats recently!)…it may be the old Space Marine player in me, so it’s good to see this kind of game growing. I’m definitely interested in the epic-scale fantasy game coming next year as I never got into Warmaster but always wanted to.
I've been painting like a maniac to paint them to a very decent standard and I'm still not finished... There's so much good stuff in this box, it's insane.
From the look of it they seem to be including quick start rules, dice and tokens even with the smaller introductory forces (the ones at about the £45/$55 US price point). I think that's a pretty sensible idea. It keeps the barrier to entry low and it leads to a situation where your main fans, the folks who are going to grow your game by word of mouth, will probably always have a copy of the quick start rules they don't really need.
Painting is a big part of the hobby for me, so Epic scale has not really appealed. I started out with old board and counter war games, so I guess they scratch the mass battle itch.

Agreed. 10mm is an awesome scale for massed combined-arms play.

So many new games. Guy at my LGS is trying to start a Dystopian wars community. Cool to see another game from this company.

A good two player starter for a game by James Hewitt you say?
Gasp!
Dystopian wars is an excellent game. Armoured clash seems to follow a similar design language, so I'm looking forward to this taking off.
Bro got the Ultra Mono in the background.
More armoured clash please
