Long Beach CA thru the port of LA & the Wilmington Waterfront Promenade - Scenic Motorcycle Ride.
A scenic motorcycle ride from Long Beach CA to Wilmington Waterfront Promenade through the Port of Los Angeles, over the International bridge and Vincent Thomas bridge and back.
Driving on Highway 710 over the International Bridge and the Vincent Thomas Bridge through the Port of Los Angeles offers a dynamic and iconic Southern California experience, with unique views and an evolving urban landscape.
The entire ride takes you through one of the busiest and most critical port complexes in the world. The Port of Los Angeles, with its maze of terminals, is a world unto itself, with the infrastructure that supports global trade on full display.
The International Bridge itself is a relatively short span that spans the Los Angeles River. It's not particularly scenic, but it offers a chance to witness the vastness of the Port area, with cranes unloading massive ships in the distance. You may also glimpse some of the large freighters docked in the harbor or moving into the channel.
The Vincent Thomas bridge itself is quite striking, with its signature green color and tall suspension towers. Riding across offers a sweeping view of the harbor, with container ships on one side and the Los Angeles skyline on the other. The bridge has a height that allows large vessels to pass beneath it, giving the drive a sense of scale and drama. On a clear day, you can even see Catalina Island in the distance.
The Wilmington Waterfront Promenade is a new addition and a lovely spot for a quiet break.

Thank you, this is stunning. I want to go this year but a little nervous with some of the curves. The views are breathtaking ❤
What a great video! I'm lucky enough to have always lived close to this area and have made that trip to Cooke City and back countless times in the last 60 years! We used to just drive to Cooke City and back home for something to do on a lazy Sunday, never really giving it a thought that many people travel from all over the world just to see this very sight! I've traveled this same road via pickup, car and motorcycle .. through every type of weather there is, camped and fished along the way, too, and it's always a beautiful and worthwhile trip. Sometimes we still drive to the entrance to Yellowstone National Park since it's so close by. Normally, there are always snow banks along the road on the way to Cooke City and here is where I first saw "pink snow", an interesting sight that truly exists. Thank you for filming/editing this great video, it's almost like making the drive myself and I sincerely appreciate your efforts!
Thank you,, I count myself lucky as well, living in this area has given me the opportunity to see all that nature has to offer. The beauty of the Beartooths and surrounding areas are amazing and healing. I am glad you enjoyed the video.
@loristravels Your videos show why I love to ride. Thanks for the work you put into them. I rode some of these roads many years ago. Seeing your videos makes me want to ride them again.
Thank you, I am glad that they bring back memories for you
My husband and I will be heading there this summer. I see in previous comments that you use a Go Pro? The colors are honestly stunning. I have a Go Pro 9. What do you currently use?
I have a GoPro 11 - I shoot it in the Flat mode with medium sharpness then edit for color and contrast in Final Cut Pro. (Have a great Ride!)
Watched this while listening to Cheap Trick on Austin City Limits. They went together well. Looking forward to driving this in July.
Have a great drive through the Bighorns, they are an amazing place.
Another nice video. Thanks.
Thank you, Glad you enjoyed it
Another good slide show.
Thanks again!
WOW. Hope to do that someday. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed the ride!
❤ you're videos in the car or on the bike! Very informative to plan a moto trip.
Thanks!, I am glad that you enjoy them and they help to plan your trip. 🙂
Absolutely 💯 Love your videos! When is the best time to hit Yellowstone? I'm assu.ing before school is out or after it starts. Also, time of day?
Back in the day there was more of an off season, it is not so much the case now. There is less traffic before and after school starting and ending but not much. The benefit to going late June through the end of August is that you are less likely to encounter snow, and if you are on a bike that is a big deal. Plus the days are longer and riding in the mornings is awesome. Mid day is when the most crowds are at every stop. It is better to go in the fall off season due to weather.
@loristravels thank you for the suggestions! I literally spent an entire day watching your videos and googled alot of the highlights. Educate b4 I go so I know what stops I'm interested in and the history. Thank you again
When was this?
The photos are a mix of spring summer and fall.
How much time would you suggest putting aside for a motorcycle ride from Red lodge to Cooke City? It took you from 9AM till 1:00 PM
Just riding through with no stops would be between 2 1/2 to 3 hours in most cases. The wyoming side of Beartooth Highway has reduced the speed limit to 45mph in some areas, so that will make a difference. I didn't stop much on this trip, most of the still photos were taken at different times of the year.
Stay off the mustard dude. Couple times you were on it.
He will watch more closely
When would you say is best time to ride. Will be riding area late May and agin mid September to from Ak
July August are the best for riding, the less likelihood of snow. We have had some great rides in September as well. (video from 2023 th-cam.com/video/4XMH6vArKDs/w-d-xo.html) The fall colors and less traffic make for a great ride. Just keep an eye on the weather.
Thx what were temps like?
the lower elevations were around 45-50 degrees on this day, as I gained elevation to beartooth lake it dropped to between 25-32 degrees.
Hope to ride this end of May. How long you think from Cody to gardiner via these two
The beartooth highway and the "plug" (the section on roadway that connects Chief Joseph Highway to Cooke City) does not' open until the end of May, weather permitting and depending on snowpack. You will have snow to deal with and unexpected closures due to weather that early in the season. If the roads are clear and dry it would take between 2-3 hours with little stopping.
@@loristravelswhen was this filmed?
May 21, a week before the Beartooth highway opened.
Great video! Can’t wait to ride kw to Ak with few days in that srea
The Tetons are impressive, we love going there.
@ with usual stops how long would you think to ride from Cody viia chief Joseph via beartooth to red lodge back to gardiner?
@@rmoran113 adding sightseeing time for the stops I would make - 1 hour or less from Cody to the Hwy 296/212 intersection - 3 hours to Red Lodge (fuel) and 3 hours or less back to 296/212 interaction - from that intersection it is about 1 hour or less to Cooke City (fuel) going into YNP 45mph speed limit , traffic, animals, road construction to Mammoth is about 2-3 hours then from mammoth to gardiner less than 1 hour. 10-13 hours(ish) I do tend to take my time to enjoy the scenery. Hope this helps.
Brought back great memories of my trip out there Sept 23, God willing I will make it out there again🙏thanks for the great work and wonderful memories ✌️
I hope you get back there soon, it is such a beautiful ride (or drive)
Looked like you put in a lot of effort making this presentation. Good Job! Enjoyed it a ton....lots of great shots. Such beauty.
Thank you, it can be a lot of work but I love the area so much.
I have watched several of your videos before we rode it last year. Thank you
I am glad that the videos helped in your trip planning.
Never tire of this beauty...!!
Me either, I love going there.
Unbelievable scenery, ive been on the Beartooth by not Cheif Joseph. Breathtaking thank you 👍👍
I hope you get the chance to see Chief Joseph in the future. The entire area is beautiful beyond compare.
Thank You for the Beautiful video. Planning a bike trip there in August 2025. Can't wait
Thanks! We hope you have an awesome ride!
The ranch was founded by the family of the woman who played Dr. Nancy Cunningham--Oscar's girlfriend on the Odd Couple.
What a great bit of information! I will have to look it up.. Thank You!
Any particular direction to ride Beartooth and Chief Joseph better than the other. Plan is travel from Red Lodge South?
Both directions are beautiful. We prefer traveling north on Chief Joseph Highway, this direction has more impressive views of the mountain ranges while riding or driving. The Beartooth highway is impressive either way, I would recommend stopping at the pullouts to really take in the views if you haven't been there before. Give longer than you think you will need to travel these scenic byways, There are no services except for the Top of the world store near Beartooth lake and it is only open seasonally so make sure you top off your fuel. We hope you have an awesome trip!.
Memories of growing up near CSU Long Beach, Millikan H.S. class of 72, and I cruised Ocean Blvd back in the day. I also competed on a swim team at an indoor pool complex in Belmont Shore that is no longer there. But is this in a car and not a motorcycle? Bah!
I bet it was a lot less crowded back then, I have been to Belmont Shore a couple of times and took a Photo walk class around the canals for Christmas. There was an insane amount of lights there. I know it's not a motorcycle, but the jeep is the only way I get around to see things. Hopefully once we get back home I can do more motorcycle videos.
Thanks for the ride along, I visited 40 years ago, nice area cali has some nice areas but to many crazy people, I hope to revisit someday and ride the PCH to Astoria Or
I am sure that a lot has changed since then. a ride along the coast north would be a great ride!
It's a shame that our Government has almost destroyed the Mustang heritage in the United States. To take numbers down to the point as they have done in the Pryor Mountains so that the few remaining become so inbred they will eventually die off. This has been done all over. Several areas could have been set up as a "Sanctuary" with several thousand of the DNA tested Mustangs to ensure our Mustang Heritage. Land that they have taken the Mustangs off of are leased to people at rates so low it is beyond belief.
I agree, it breaks my heart the way these horses are treated so that welfare cattle ranchers can destroy our land. They keep pushing that story that it is the horses doing the destruction but we know it is not. I have read that the "2025 plan" is to euthanize all the wild horses in holding locations to save money and no longer be responsible for the situation that the BLM has caused. Our government does not care about wildlife unless you can hunt it or make a profit off it. Indiscriminate destruction of wild animals that "they" deem unworthy to exist is rampant especially in Montana and Wyoming. I have read about folks that brag online about going out and killing random wildlife and just leaving it, just using it as target practice. I believe that every creature has a right to live it's life in the wild. From our littlest bug to our greatest mammal, this is their world too and they should be given every chance to survive.
Thanks for this great video!
Thank you! I am glad that you enjoyed it.
Rode from SC to Jackson Hole last Aug. Riding out to Vegas next Aug. then north to Red Lodge and back on Hyw 2. On a motorcycle
Sounds like a great ride!
I'll be riding out and around and back to that region from Ohio next summer on my Harley. Can't wait. Your videos are fantastic
Thanks! I hope you have a great ride!
Been across there 3 times on a Harley ... loved the video
Thanks! We never get tired of this area, it is such a great ride
Thats what i like about wyoming wild and amazing,
I do love the open spaces with no one around. Feeds the soul.
25:47 was my first time camping in sunlight basin. Drove as far back as I could and camped in a camping area. There were like 20 people 1/4 mile away but nobody in my campground area. Kind of scary. Had a great time with my dog and truck back there. Will be back next year after going through the Pryors again!
I've been back there a couple of times so I know what you mean. There is almost too many people back there unless you know where to go. I am glad you had a great time. The Pryors are awesome too, I can't wait to get back there.
We rode it last summer for the first time
I hope you had an awesome ride!. This area is amazing.

Thanks! Glad you enjoy the video, the music in this video is from the TH-cam Library. I am sure that the Weather Channel can do a better job keeping you informed of the weather.
