Great video once again mate. Although I'm a Celtic fan, I live in Doncaster, if you are ever down in Donny come and do the tour of the Eco Power Stadium (formally known as the Keepmoat)
Loved this video Sam. The Dublin grounds have real soul and character to them. Especially Bohs ground, I loved the graffiti and the mixture of terracing abd seating. St Pats ground is really quirky as well. ⚽️👍🏻🏟
Shelbourne's ground was formally the home of arguably Dublin's most famous football team DRUMCONDRA FC who played in TOLKA PARK until the early '7o's before going out of the league on the early 1970's which was a tragedy but are still playing as a good junior club. They played in distinctive colours of all yellow with two vertical red hoops on their jerseys and regularly played to crowds of 20,000 and up to 28,000 up to the late '60's.Shelbourne were originally from Dublin's south docklands in Ringsend and had a fine ground built there in the 1950's which succumbed ti inclement bad weather which affected the iron clad ground. After a nomadic existance playing on Greyhound stadia in Dublin they moved into Drumcondra's old ground.it is now set to be redeveloped after being saved from demolition thanks to their fans relentless determination. We await news on when the new development is to start.
I was half watching this and celtic shakhtar on tv when Brian Kerr came on,couldn't believe he's just tipping around Richmond Park, lovely man and an absolute gift to irish football, need about 50 more of him
As an Irishman I love this. So cool of Brian kerr to act like he was bit of a nobody really. I actually didn't recognize him until he spoke....also this video made miss Dublin something fierce.
Brian Kerr is regular found at Richmond Park (Saint Patrick’s Athletic), I quote from Brian Kerr “Gordan Banks played a game for Pats, Pats had the likes of Gareth Bale (Tottenham Hotspur) Robbie Keane (Tottenham Hotspur) Mason Mount (Chelsea FC). Dalymount Park (Bohemains) Pele Brazil Football Legend played there, along with the Busby Babes 1958 Season. Bohemians is the 2nd longest football team in Ireland after Athlone FC. The first game at the Aviva Stadium (Lansdowne Road) was a League of Ireland XI vs Manchester United. Give us a shout out in the next video. Liking the videos.
I managed a few years ago to go around some of the stadiums in Dublin . Did Croke Park , Dalymount park & Tolka Park . As well as Shelbourne . Enjoyed my visits to them all & also your video Sam . Been to Landsdowne Road as was a few times . Love the old , quaint stadiums in Dublin .
I am constantly jealous of you and your adventures. I also get a huge charge when you visit a stadium I have been lucky enough to have seen myself during my 2018 UK/Ireland trip. Croke park is on that list. I took the stadium and museum tours which I highly recommend!! CHEERS!!
Excellent video, you jammy git !!! lol ... Can't wait to see where you and your car end up in Northern Ireland / The Republic next time ... Derry City is an absolute must, there's a terrific documentary on the club on BBC i-player...
Great video Sam. You have to come over for the Munster derby Cork City v Waterford. 2 big clubs now in the 1st division. Turners Cross has the best atmosphere of any ground in Ireland and this derby will be great. Citys average attendance is way more than the majority of clubs in the Premier League here. We are top at present and Waterford 3rd.
Good to see you take in the League of Ireland Sam. Just can't believe you were talking to Brian kerr and Didn't realise who he was. But anyone who's watched any of your footage will know that's the way you roll. Keep up the good work.
@0:17 just tidbit, very few people Ireland call it soccer. It used to be called that in previous generations more, to differentiate it from gaelic. But most people nowadays to make it clear just say "I play gaelic football", or just "gaelic". If you say 'did you watch the football match last night' - unless it was a gaelic football quarter final or something, they mean probably the Liverpool or Man United game Good video. I love seeing outside perspectives on Ireland
Hahaha fancy meeting the former Ireland manager outside his old club, that's gas. That's Dublin for ye, the smallest big city in the world. Bohs ground, Dalymount is probably the most iconic of the club grounds in Ireland and Ireland used to play games there up until the 1980's after which nearly all games were played in Lansdowne Road/Aviva...
You’ve no doubt realised by now you were blessed to meet the legend that is Brian Kerr, but don’t know if other points have been picked up. Dalymount Park used to be the home of Irish football with many internationals played there up until the early 90’s, Lansdowne would’ve taken over in the 70’s. I maybe wrong on this but Croke Park is the 3rd largest stadium in Europe with a capacity of over 82,000, it’s a magnificent stadium with lots of history (some tragic unfortunately) and while it’s a GAA stadium it does host big gigs as well as National football and rugby games while Lansdowne Road was being redeveloped. Great video.
Great to see you made it to Ireland 🇮🇪 You should visit Waterford, Waterford FC (formerly Waterford United) play in the RSC which is also an athletics track Waterford Untied have a huge history in Irish club football. They played in Europe against the likes of Manchester United, Celtic, Dinamo Tbilisi (the season they went on to win it) among others. Last time we qualified for Europe was finishing 4th in the 2018 Premier Division season but due to the 3 year new owner rule we were disqualified and St Patrick's Athletic took the spot instead for the 2019-20 Europa League
Nice video of the "Arena". You missed another unique stadium ( not far from the Arena) in Milan : the Vigorelli, an open stadium with a Football pitch and a wooden (!) bicicle track. I think that's now the stadium of the local American Football team. It was the place of the concert of Beatles in '65. And was the place of Historical 1h records in Cycling (Coppi, Riviere, Anquetil)
I saw Pele play at Dalymount Park in the 70's I also attended many famous internationals involving the Republic, the ground was in a much better condition than it is now 😱
Croke Park Stadium is the largest stadium in Ireland and the 3rd largest in Europe with a capacity of 84,000. By the way this is a great video. Well done!
Those Dublin stadiums have character; reminiscent of many a Championship or League 1 club in England. A few years ago I watched a groundhopping video hosted by a Welsh bloke and he visited aground in Ireland close to a former British fortress which was well-preserved.
Working my way round the grounds, I was at Cork on Friday and did Sligo and Finn harps last month. Disappointed with Cabinteelys merger with Bray they played at the Rugby ground in Blackrock not far from UCD it the smallest ground but still had some character with the wooden sleepers initially the only seating before a small stand had to be installed to meet criteria. The first team in the SSE to sign a Japanese player.
If English fans want a taste of what football was like in England in the 1950s, come to Ireland. Some of the grounds are stuck in the past in some cases. The FAI completely abdicated responsibility for developing the LOI and too many football fans only watch English football.
Great video! Wish you could have seen the Carlisle Ground, which is home to the Bray Wanderers. The ground is situated right next to the Bray/Bré DART station.
Great videos sam love watching them 👍😉 Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪 ⚽️ I love Scottish football too and Tottenham Hotspur ⚽️ League of Ireland is great too Really enjoyed your videos of Motherwell v Sligo rovers
Irish Rugby and Football was able to be played in Croke Park in 2007- 2010 since the old lansdowne road stadium was being developed into the Aviva Stadium. I recommend the stadium tour of Croke Park as you get to know more about the Irish Sport as well as the history of the 81,000 seater stadium
Great video. Some of those stadiums do look a bit dilapidated showing the lack of money in the game. Great to meet Brian Kerr, who managed St Pats, Ireland and the Faroes at one stage. A real honour there.
Bohemians are the oldest continuous team in the League of Ireland. They are also the only ever present team in the premier division. Their Stadium is also due for re-development in the very near future. This is the stadium where the Ireland national football team played all of their games up until the mid 80's when they started the share the The Aviva (Lansdowne Road) with the national Rugby team. Unfortunately Dalymount has deteriorated somewhat in the intervening period but due to be improved thankfully so the next time you return you should see a much improved stadium.
@@3210-n1x St Pat's only joined the league of Ireland in the 1950's Bohemians have played in the premier league the very foundation of the league of Ireland.
You should have gone to the match at croke park! But regardless, great video, Dublin is very much underappreciated as a footballing city so great you showcased its many unique clubs!
Can't believe it in the middle of the video up pops Brian Kerr, very successful Irish manager helped bring through Robbie Keane, Duff etc in very successful Irish youth teams, also managed Ireland and the Faroe Islands
Mate I swear I must have just missed you at some of these grounds. One of the best grounds was Richmond Park. Was there for the Pats-Shelbourne derby. Madness!
Irish driver was funny , it's sad the state of Irish football it's not what it should be losing players to England , what team do you support , Man United
Went to my first big game at Tolka Park. I think it was the summer of 1987 Home Farm v Liverpool, it was part of the deal that sent Ronnie Whelan to LFC. Great buzz around the place that night. I believe they are knocking it soon to build apartments, such a shame.
A bit like me. My first game was Liverpool v Shamrock Rovers friendly at Milltown in '82. Jim Beglin was playing for Rovers and I suspect the game was part of the transfer deal. Milltown is gone now too of course. Whelan signed for Liverpool in 1979 so your memory might be a bit foggy on the date?
Growing up supporting the league people would look at you like you were a odd ball for doing so and would talk down to you like you didn't know anything about football because you didn't support an English football club
The stadium you were at called Dalymount Park is less than 10 minutes from the SBG gym where Conor McGregor trains. The record attendance at that stadium came in 1957 when Ireland played England in front of 48,000 it was Irelands first home ground for a long time before Landsdown Road which is now the Aviva stadium. Pele also played in Dalymount for his club Santos.
Pele played in Dalymount, Maradonna played in Lansdowne Road and George Best once played a few minutes at a charity match in Tolka Park. Ronaldo had his Real debut in Tallaght Stadium.
You should do the west coast. Derry, Finn Harps, Sligo, Galway and Limerick. And check out Finn Harps white elephant stadium. Slowly, slowly, catchy monkey. Maybe Athlone as well. If you like that sort of thing.

Same lol
Brian Kerr an absolute gem! Hugely underrated spell in charge of Ireland
And of course, you met The Greener outside Richmond. Love it!
Lovely video.
Hilarious ya hadn't a clue bout Brian Kerr! Unreal ya got to meet him and didn't even know him! Class good video man 👍
I was half watching this and celtic shakhtar on tv when Brian Kerr came on,couldn't believe he's just tipping around Richmond Park, lovely man and an absolute gift to irish football, need about 50 more of him
Love you're channel mate! Dublin club visit brilliant... Best of luck with further football content in the new season! 👍😁
Mad to bump into Brian Kerr. Pats and Irish football legend. Paul McGrath probably the most famous ex Pats player.
No mention of Duffer at Tolka was a surprise.
Loving the videos lately! Thanks for promoting our league 🇮🇪
Brilliant you met Brian Kerr had to be the man lives and breathes Irish soccer legend
Lol great stuff from Kerr. Thought you might have known him! He managed Ireland!
Loving these videos mate. U give a great insight into the Irish league. Keep up the good work mate
If you say 'did you watch the football match last night' - unless it was a gaelic football quarter final or something, they mean probably the Liverpool or Man United game
Good video. I love seeing outside perspectives on Ireland
Best part of this was meeting Brian Kerr and not knowing who Brian Kerr was. Brilliant! 😂 He's a gentleman!
I’d say Glasgow is the smallest big city in the world.
Great to see you made it to Ireland 🇮🇪
You should visit Waterford, Waterford FC (formerly Waterford United) play in the RSC which is also an athletics track
Waterford Untied have a huge history in Irish club football.
Brian Kerr, a legend and the best pundit on Irish TV for sure.
I saw Pele play at Dalymount Park in the 70's
I also attended many famous internationals involving the Republic, the ground was in a much better condition than it is now 😱
I was at that GAA match, can't believe you were walking about outside Croker! Shame I didn't see you because I'd a spare ticket.
Croke Park Stadium is the largest stadium in Ireland and the 3rd largest in Europe with a capacity of 84,000. By the way this is a great video. Well done!
It’s not all seater though, so it can’t really be compared.
Brian Kerr outside richmond, what a legend!
Great video Honest and genuine video brilliant
If English fans want a taste of what football was like in England in the 1950s, come to Ireland. Some of the grounds are stuck in the past in some cases. The FAI completely abdicated responsibility for developing the LOI and too many football fans only watch English football.
Brian Kerr 😂 amazing
Great video! Wish you could have seen the Carlisle Ground, which is home to the Bray Wanderers. The ground is situated right next to the Bray/Bré DART station.
I've been there a couple times, nice little ground. Wall fell down the first time I went tho
Great videos sam love watching them 👍😉
Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪 ⚽️
I love Scottish football too and Tottenham Hotspur ⚽️
League of Ireland is great too
Really enjoyed your videos of Motherwell v Sligo rovers
Irish Rugby and Football was able to be played in Croke Park in 2007- 2010 since the old lansdowne road stadium was being developed into the Aviva Stadium. I recommend the stadium tour of Croke Park as you get to know more about the Irish Sport as well as the history of the 81,000 seater stadium
Great one! I'm going to Ireland ( from the States) next weekend and I'm going to see Cork play
And you met Brian Kerr too!!! Great stuff...
Bohs supporter here in Cincinnati, you should come to an FC Cincinnati game.
Only ever present? St Patrick's athletic never relegated.
@@3210-n1x St Pat's only joined the league of Ireland in the 1950's Bohemians have played in the premier league the very foundation of the league of Ireland.
I actually really enjoyed your video, I’m a heavy LOI fan yet I’ve never stepped foot on any of those pitches
Brilliant Sam, loving the content, keep up the great work 👍⚽🙂 What an amazing coincidence bumping into Brian Kerr as well 👍
Great video. Plenty of character at the likes of Finn Harps or Sligo Rovers as well as the Irish league (NI) grounds.
S R F C tallaght Dublin ireland great vud well done 👍👍👍🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Mate I swear I must have just missed you at some of these grounds. One of the best grounds was Richmond Park. Was there for the Pats-Shelbourne derby. Madness!
Irish driver was funny , it's sad the state of Irish football it's not what it should be losing players to England , what team do you support , Man United
…. (And of course Celtic) haha
Well done again same , pity you didn’t see the aviva properly, what a coincidence running into Brian Kerr what a programme
Would love to see these clubs grow in popularity. Come on Irishmen, EPL teams have enough fans already!
Growing up supporting the league people would look at you like you were a odd ball for doing so and would talk down to you like you didn't know anything about football because you didn't support an English football club
@@daviddunne7794 That's ridiculous. Hopefully the rising attendances in the league keep going that way.
You get laughed at for supporting the league by Irish people who don’t
@@Dublin-np4sy your joking?
@@josephyearwood1179 unfortunately not
Love these stadium tours ...keep up the good work
The stadium you were at called Dalymount Park is less than 10 minutes from the SBG gym where Conor McGregor trains.
That old stand in dalymount park (bohs studium) used to go the whole length of the side when Ireland played there before landsdown road
You should do the west coast. Derry, Finn Harps, Sligo, Galway and Limerick. And check out Finn Harps white elephant stadium. Slowly, slowly, catchy monkey. Maybe Athlone as well. If you like that sort of thing.
Love the fact you met Brain Kerr and absolutely brilliant content.
9:30 Thats so true😫😫😫
Brian Kerr was an amazing Ireland manager. So under rated
We were almost breaking into the top 10 in the world rankings under him.
Sup Liam
Awesome video.. Next time you come back you should do the croke park tour !
Fantastic video as always. Keep'm coming.
Pretty cool you’ve also showed Croke Park, I love football and GAA, great to see both sports getting featured in this video 😀⚽️🏐🏑
It really isnt .
Nice you met Brian, he does all the punditry for most of the republics games.
Haha can't believe your met Kerr. That's great.
Brilliant video!! 👏👏👏
In Dayler… “look at this old stand, wow amazing” no need to be too nice, it’s an absolute kip (but deserves to be renovated asap) 🤣
fantastic vid ucd hit the bar in that game at goodison i remember
I like the idea that Brian Kerr just wanders around Dublin wearing a tracksuit and carrying a football waiting for people to start talking about football with.
