      I'd say 100,000 or more

    • @dazzer273
      @dazzer273 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      Hill 16 holds 13,000 so minus this from 82,500 = 69,500 plus the capacity of the Davin Stand (27,000) = 96,500. However this would only be possible if the railway line was built to run through an underground tunnel but even at that there is still not enough space or land to mirror the Davin Stand so the capacity would be less than 96,500. Nonetheless our Páirc an Crocaigh is a special place ☺️

    • @jasonwall5012
      @jasonwall5012 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      They would be albe to complete a full construction of croker like the rest, they'd incorporate the train tracks behind hill 16, just like the aviva stadium. It would be over 100k...
      but thats a pipe dream, hill 16 is left like that on purpose. I find it very hard for the GAA to build up hill 16

    No idea where you got 183,000 for Hampden. The record attendance is 149,547 in 1947 for a Scotland v England match.

    • @endagriffin2530
      @endagriffin2530 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      183,388 was the capacity but the SFA were only allowed to sell 150000 tickets.

    • @gordon1545
      @gordon1545 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@endagriffin2530 That's sort-of true, but that figure presumed standing being allowed on the walkways, which would never have been permitted (even in those days). As you say, the highest number of tickets they were ever allowed to sell was 150,000.
      I grew up a 5 minute walk from Hampden, and when I was a kid the capacity was 74,000 (pre-Hillsborough). The ground was barely smaller then than in the heyday of the 1930s-1960s, so I can't imagine how cramped it must have been with so many people in it.

    • @endagriffin2530
      @endagriffin2530 ปีที่แล้ว

      That makes you a hell of a lot more qualified than me so 🤣 That was it though back before Hillsborough..squeeze them in anywhere and everywhere. Was never lucky enough to see it in person, just on TV but them walls of terracing were a behemoth. They'd intimidate you even when empty. One thing I will say though, I do understand the need for all seaters from a safety point of view, but there was a certain atmosphere from a terrace that you can't get in an all seated stand and that's been lost forever.

    2:00 I hate it when people outside of Ireland try to compare hurling to other sports, I get that it's necessary for viewers to understand it, but it cannot be compared to any other sports and it feels almost disrespectful to do so as it is thousands of years older than all the sports you mentioned. England did an otherworldly job with hosting Euro 2020 games. There was no violence or xenophobia towards foreign fans, no attacks, no near-death experiences; security was adequate; hosts were extremely welcoming and graceful in defeat even as England lost the final. UEFA's President can be sure that with this bid we will see more of the same in 2028. And do not doubt for a second that Ireland, NI, Wales and Scotland will host a lot of games thanks to the "collaborative" nature of the bid. There is no way a magnanimous co-host like England would want to keep most of the action for itself and leave just scraps for everybody else.

      I hear the media having a go at OT... but they forget that when it comes to viewing lines Old Trafford is the best stadium anywhere. The stands are close to the pitch and steep on 3 sides. The shallow bottom tiers at Arsenal, the Council House and West Ham give dreadful views. The roof at OT is a disgrace and needs sorting and it would be great to build up the South Stand. Worst condition in the Premier League? Sellhurst Park? Elland Road? Fulham? What a mess Wolves have + all the boring boxes at Southampton and Leicester..... Yeah OT is in the worst condition!

    I would recommend games at The Principality (Millennium) Stadium in Cardiff for anyone thinking far in advance where they might want to go - it's widely considered the best atmosphere of any rugby stadium in the world due to both the roof (acoustics); excessive pyrotechnics, and being in the city centre - feels like the whole of South Wales has turned up for matchday drinking! 7 minute walk from Cardiff Central train station too!
    Cardiff Airport isn't super close, but the transport links are good.
    Certainly Cardiff is the only place I'd go to for a matchday just to soak up the atmosphere in the city (unless Ireland was playing at Croke or Scotland in Glasgow - doesn't matter who's playing in Cardiff, though on a Wales day it will beat em all!)
    (I hope we get an Ireland Wales game at Croke or Principality!)

      Problem is Wales isn't guaranteed a spot. UEFA rules dictate only 2 host countries are guaranteed automatic qualification. So yeah it would be nice for Cardiff to host matches, but would be a bit unfair if our national team isn't taking part.

    Why can’t they just expand the amount of host stadiums like we should be using like 10 stadiums which would include Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge, Emirates Stadium, Celtic Park, Ibrox Stadium, Anfield, St Mary’s Stadium, City Ground (Nottingham), King Power Staduim, London (Olympic) Stadium, Windsor Park, as well as Cork and Galway! So why not? Like come on! If the Euros is hosted all over the U.K. and Ireland then you would have a whole nation engaged in the tournament rather than just 4 cities. Encourage growth in places that need it- I would include north Wales on here as well but it would have to be Bangor, Aberystwyth or TNS (and they’re in Shropshire not Wales and they all would need huge infrastructure renovations- maybe having Swansea and Cardiff would have been good but they you’re limiting growth to south Wales). Why limit the amount of stadiums when we will have enough games?

Those two stands on each wing at Bramley Moore have removable roof sections as they are supported by the trusses at each end. Expansion from 52,888 to 65,000 can be done within 18 months if needed as the foundations have already been piledriven. And the side/wing roofing they are now installing is removable. I'm actually hoping this doesn't happen. Not to begrudge England, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Wales (I'm a Welshman) or a Scotland just irritating that it's an assumption that major sports events are reliant on England. Would love to see upgrades made to stadiums and transport infrastructure elsewhere allowing a Celtic Nations Euros

    Hello, there is a lot of development in Saudi football. I hope you will talk about it. There are stadiums that will be built for the 2027 Asian Cup, as well as stadiums for clubs such as Al-Ettifaq Club and Al-Shabab Club, which will be opened next season.
