Hey, thanks for all the super easy-to-follow tutorials! I have a tremolo harmonica with 24 holes and I was wondering if you could put together a video on how to do Chainsmoking by: Jacob Banks?
Sorry it took me a whole year to write back! But I'm afraid I only do videos for songs that are in the public domain now, trying to keep my channel safe... but if you're still interested in learning more songs, here are all of my tremolo lessons so far! th-cam.com/video/8Or5oLjFhKE/w-d-xo.html
Man its 3 am and i was thinking about one very specific harmonica song i like and got up and dug my mom's old harmonica from the closet. It is 3am. I have never touched a harmonica in my life. I have school tomorrow. Well here i am i guess.
Thank you so much Im subscribing becuse this is easy to follow and helpful. This is also the only information I could find on the tromolo Scale. I thought it looked weird thenk you for your help.
You could start here and follow the links that I mention in the video... but you've probably figured it out by now! th-cam.com/video/vxoA4ZP5rdM/w-d-xo.html
I accidentally bought a tremolo (chromatic) harmonica instead of a regular chromatic. As there's obviously a kind of chord-like sound instead of the regular single notes, I was just wondering if it's possible to learn how to only play the single note sounds as well? (Basically just using the top hole, or the bottom, instead of blowing into both) I've kind of been unable to find anything on that topic so far.
That's Slideless Chromatic eg Yamaha SS220, Tombo S 50. Bottom raw hole is C and above raw is C#. Just play in 1 row hole only. With me it's good harmonica, easy to play, clear and bright sound.
I am having some problem identifying the holes and have to count them again and again. How to figure for ex if i am at 3 hole where is the 9 hole. Please Help
The more you do it the more it becomes instinctive. There's no shame in looking the first few times you play the song, even I count the holes when I learn a new song as not all of my harmonicas are numbered, but over time, the more times you play a song the more you just "know" where the holes are!
Thank you for the video! But i really wonder something. Will we never draw the holes that we're supposed to blow? I mean for example when i draw the fifth hole( which is supposed to be blown for c note) i feel like it sounds similar to note d when drawing sixth hole. Is it meaningless to do that or wrong?
Not 100% sure, but I think it has something to do with the way the reeds are positioned. Tremolo harmonicas are distinct by having two reeds per note. In a tremolo harmonica the two reeds are tuned slightly off a reference pitch, one slightly sharp and the other slightly flat.
Hi, do you have a note chart for a 14-hole tremolo harmonica in the key of C? Harmonica is CBS Masterwork... Is it the same chart as your 16-hole tremolo? Regards
Hello, how are you? I am Brazilian. I am learning english, perdon a wrongs. It's possible to play flat notes and sharp notes on this instrument, or just natural notes? How can do it? Thank you very much!!
These harmonicas are tuned to play a particular key. The easiest way to play sharps and flats is to learn chromatic harmonica but you can also learn a technique called bending to create various notes, but that's not easy with a Tremolo
I think you're meaning what I call a 16 hole.. looks like 32 holes but you treat the two like 1 hole when playing.. basically I have a playlist for 16 hole trems... all if them are in c major but if you turn the volume down and follow the arrows the tutorials will work for your E Trem
No there aren't, to get those notes you either need to learn bending, which is difficult on this type of harmonica, or you can get a chromatic harmonica
Yours must be in a different key... if you want to learn some of the songs I've made 16 hole tutorials for just turn the volume down and follow the arrows
It takes a lot of practice, but my advice is not to worry about it. The harmonica is designed so that the notes on either side of a single hole harmonize with one another
Found my old kaine harmonica, cleaned it, then found this tutorial because my harmonica has 16 holes, thinking kaine was the same as trremelo, or is it the same?
I’m trying to learn songs on my tremolo in key of G, you said the numbers are always the same does that mean watching your tutorials where you play a song in key of C I don’t have to switch my notes around? So I don’t have to figure out where C is on my harmonica I just play 5 when you say 5?
I looked up why there is such a scacity of music for this it is said that is is a traditional country intrument and most music has not beed written down but passed down. I was wondering if that was true or not.
Hey sorry belma, I don't have a 12 hole Chromatic, maybe one day though. I'm actually trying to raise money to get more equipment so if you want to help me make more tutorials please support Tune Basics here www.buymeacoffee.com/KerinGedge

Me too, I got a tremolo in stead of diatonic one.,..
Same I was like why isn’t it like the ten hole harmonica
Same lol

Literally found this harmonica in my dead grandma's things and im eager to learn it. Just enough to play some easy songs or melodics
Well, hopefully you can honour her memory by learning it 😉 Good luck!
I didn’t know what type of harmonica mine was so I kept playin it like a normal one but now I know. Thanks!!
You're welcome!
I was today years old when I found out tremolo harmonicas exist. Thank you.
Your explanation is just so perfect I could comprehend everything and is really helpful!
Glad you think so! Thanks for watching :)
It was never easier man. You're sweet man. Blessings
I appreciate that

Its kinda hard to note blow into 2 holes.
Any tips on that?
I kinda just bought a cheap one from Wal-Mart, help me--

Oh so its about holes 5 and 11 not the first one! Thank you!
No worries!
It was amazing sir
Thanks sir I am learning jingle bells on tin whistle from watching your video thanks sir

Does it have a button on the side? I'm a bit confused by this one..
I'm sorry, it worked out. The site I ordered from acknowledged that the one in the pictures wasn't the same as the one they sent me!

Yes. It gets a bit tricky on both ends😬😬
Nice job I like this channel it SOOOOOOOO COOOOL
Thanks, you're cool too!
Holy cow thank you!! I don’t have a not very good one and keep blowing into two wholes. Any tips?

I had that harmonica right now
Thank you so much, this is great

Thank you very much.
Thanks for the great video!
Does the same numbering work for other keys as well? (Mine's D Major i think)
Yes it does!

I'm not really sure I understand what you mean?
If you play well and exactly you can't draw fifth hole.
@@KerinGedge dbellatrix is wondering if it's meaningless or wrong to breathe in a hole that is meant to be blown in, or vice versa.
@@KerinGedge me neither tbh
You're just accidentally drawing the 6th hole
Wait, But why are there two holes above each other in the first place?
Not 100% sure, but I think it has something to do with the way the reeds are positioned. Tremolo harmonicas are distinct by having two reeds per note. In a tremolo harmonica the two reeds are tuned slightly off a reference pitch, one slightly sharp and the other slightly flat.
@@KerinGedge So, you are NOT supposed to angle your mouth weirdly to only blow into one hole then.
No

When I Draw on 2 I get a G, the same as when I blow on 3. It's a brand new harmonica--could it be my mouth position? Or....?
Normal.
hmm

I have a weltmeister with 18 holes (36) ?? What is this kind of harmonica?
Not sure, possibly a type of tremolo that I'm not familiar with?
This video is very helpful to me but thing I didn't understand is: are there C# D# F# G# Bb notes on this instrument?
No there aren't, to get those notes you either need to learn bending, which is difficult on this type of harmonica, or you can get a chromatic harmonica
@@KerinGedge Thank you 😁
No worries, hope you're still get a lot outta my lessons:)
öğrendin mi bi şeyler :)
Hmmm a really old tremolo harmonica I just got has the lowest draw note tuned to G instead of A, so there are two Gs. 1D and 2B
Yours must be in a different key... if you want to learn some of the songs I've made 16 hole tutorials for just turn the volume down and follow the arrows
No offense but i dont know how you can only blow into one hole they are like half a centimeter
It takes a lot of practice, but my advice is not to worry about it. The harmonica is designed so that the notes on either side of a single hole harmonize with one another
thank you very mach

Found my old kaine harmonica, cleaned it, then found this tutorial because my harmonica has 16 holes, thinking kaine was the same as trremelo, or is it the same?
Honestly I'm not sure, Kaine sounds more like a brand to me?
Please make senorita on 16 hole harmonica
Sorry, I only do songs that are in the public domain now, protecting myself from copyright strikes!
Does this work with a toy network bee harmonica?
If it has the same number of holes, ie is the same type of harmonica, then I don't see why not!
I’m trying to learn songs on my tremolo in key of G, you said the numbers are always the same does that mean watching your tutorials where you play a song in key of C I don’t have to switch my notes around? So I don’t have to figure out where C is on my harmonica I just play 5 when you say 5?
No, it means if you follow the arrows with the volume turned down you'll end up with the correct song but in a different key;)
Kerin Gedge thank you!!
Kerin Gedge huh?
Can a tremolo harmonica play chromatic notes
It is possible to bend notes on a Tremolo but I don't recommend it, best to learn a Chromatic harmonica if you want the full range in my opinion
@@KerinGedge thanks for the reply
@@KerinGedge would it damage my harp if I still bend tho?
depends on the quality of your reeds I guess?
my harmonica has 18 pairs holes...and I cant find any lesson :(
what do you mean "18 pairs" do you mean 18 on top and 18 on the bottom like on a tremolo?
@@KerinGedge yes!!
sorry mate, I am not too sure about that one.. if I ever manage to get one I'll be sure to make tabs for it!
@@KerinGedge Thank you so much dude...lots of love

In my country, harmonica was popular in the 70s and 80s, u could hear it in all sorts of music from that decade, but not is not so popular
ok thanks
No problem

Dude... How in the world can you blow in one hole at a time?! They are SOOOO LITTLE! I am blowing like in 5 holes. Together sounds like trash!
th-cam.com/video/vxoA4ZP5rdM/w-d-xo.html
How to make a bend note by using tremolo harmonica ?
You can with some good quality tremolo come from Tombo.
The secret is breathing in through one hole only, but it ain't easy... I don't do it myself
I have a toy harmonica like this and it’s holes are way too small 💀💀💀
If you practice long enough the size of the holes becomes inconsequential!
I am so confused
You're meant to be, do a song tutorial and gradually it will make sense
Bruh no wonder people play this dumb ass instrument when there isn't any booze, I feel high as hell from hyperventilating
It's good for your lungs
