Hey, Aaron, there's a whole up welling of people relearning how to skateboard in their older years, and you, yes you, are a reason we are being successful. I'm 56, picked up a board again after 20+ years off during the Rona lockdown, and you taught me to Ollie. Never could before in my life and 56 you taught this old dog a new trick. Thanks Aaron!!!
I'm 59, started when I was 12. That was before helmets and pads. Hit my first concrete park in my 40's. Love my downhill boards, now I ride an electric board every weekend. Yes, I wear pads and helmet.

40 and my daughter wanted to learn to skate, so I got her a board and pulled out my old POS board. I learned to stand and roll down the street, but nothing more since there was no TH-cam in the 80s. We're gonna learn together.
I'm about to turn 35, I'm a nurse and just got my 1st board after 12years without one. My ollie is terrible but I am loving being back on a board. Life is too short to miss out on the things we really want to be doing. Get out there, give it your best and most importantly have fun.
Skated in my preteen/teen years then dropped it during high school. That was 20 years ago. At 33 last week I dropped in on a quarter pipe for the first time ever! I owe a lot to you guys.
I just turned 30, recently got back into skating again after a 5+ year hiatus. Forgot how much I love skateboarding, your always a skater once you start.
31 Here, been skating my whole life. Three, yes Three left knee surgeries later I still skate. What little I can. Your videos have helped me regain some of my confidence on the board. Thanks Braille
Started skating when I was 8 years old, stopped when I was 15. I’m now 45, started to skate again and am going the local skate park with mates I used to skate with back in the 80’s. Dropped in on a 5ft mini ramp, slammed on the first attempt, then nailed it in the second attempt. Great advice Arron, many thanks for your support to all skaters of any ability and age.

Back to boarding in my mid-40's after stopping in my late teens. Modern long boards are a BLAST! Totally agree with these tips, and knowing when your tired/time to stop is a HUGE thing. I've been riding MTB's for 15+ years now and I know that once I hit "pretty tired" my chances to injure myself thru dumbness or just simply overstress something goes thru the roof. :)
Just want to agree 💯. Great video great tips. I myself just started skating at 40. Started lil over a month ago. Got decent at riding, pushing, turning, kick turns. Went out to local park this last wens. Skated for hour n half just cruising for first time.!! Totally awesome. Got home body not use to skating big park. Then I was on a high I jump back on at home 3 hours later fall cuz of noodle legs fractured my left elbow. Best and worst day of skating. Should have rested and skated next day. I tried to push to hard. Skating is not one of those activities. But I'm in a splint n sling and am itching to get back on. Fyi had pads at park got to comfy to should have put em back on
I am an elder ( much older than all mentioned in the comments ) I am planning to teach myself skateboarding .Your videos are so valuble Aaron and excellent preparation . I am determined to have fun learning .
Im 36 and i thought i was too old to skateboard! I figured most guys my age are married and they ditched the skateboard in their teen yrs! I never grew up so i want to buy a cool board!
I’m 33 and only recently started skateboarding due to boredom because of COVID-19. Four bruised ribs, and lots of binging Braille later, and still loving it!
I am 56 (began at 11, stoped at 17 restart at 34 to 37 then stopped again, restarted at 55)...Since I have had some skate injuries due to fatigue or being impatient to drop the 6` quarter ramp without much preparation at 37 or recently right wrist bad tendon injury for a simple olly attempt on the flat, I totaly agree about what you say. GREAT advice. MANY THANKS
I’m 28 just started skating like 2 weeks ago and my kneeeeeeeesssssss😫😫😫. Got some great stretching in the gym to today, rode about a mile on my board for my cardio Nd I feel great but my knees are sore
Im 25 and trying to learn to skateboard, Its a weird age where people look at me and expect me to be able to skate but I can barely tictac without killing myself. dropped in off a ramp today for the first time and slammed a few times trying to get it. But seeing adults starting to learn to skateboard all over the place is really inspiring thanks for the awesome videos Aaron! Gonna definitely get myself a helmet and some pads before I try any of the ramps at the park again though that's for sure lol
I’m 24 and haven’t skated in 3 years. I want to get back into it, but I feel like I’m at that age where it’s not a priority. Plus the risk of injury that could last a lifetime.
You're 24 and you think about lifetime injury's when skateboarding?!! Better don't ski or snowboard or play soccer because that's as dangerous as skateboarding. Dude, I'm 51 and skateboarding every weekend. My biggest problem is high blood pressure, high cholestorol, some overweight and mild diabetes, and that's the result of not skateboarding enough.
I’m turning 43 next month and I was inspired to assemble one again after seeing my old deck in storage. I haven’t skated for 26 years. I hope I can still pull off a couple of tricks!
36 here also not skated since i was probably around 20.. recently bought a ladyatchtz tugboat cruiser.. i think i could still skate street if i wanted too .. but at my age man i just wanna ollie and do the occasional flip and slide while cruising the streets last 3 years i been hitting fitness pretty hard, i have a 6pack, and very strong back and legs.. i ran over 3000miles over 3 years... you are only as old as you let your body become.. i was talking to a 20 year old guy i work with he saw i was wearing a DC hoodie.. and he came up to me like "do you skate?" i was like "yeah man but not in a while" he said "how old are you?" i said i was 36 he was surprised thought i was a lot younger than i was .. remember take care of yourselves. and you'll skate forever. hitting the gym helps.. makes you much more agile. i am 36 and in the best physical shape of my life.. i weigh the same as i did when i was 17 years old.. but i am much more muscular.
You need to make a video where you spend an entire session warming up and by the time you're finally ready to skate everyone else is ready to go and you're left sad and alone. :(
Can someone help me😅 I just got my skateboard since I wanted to find a hobby during quarantine and Idek where to start💀I don’t have any friends so how tf do I practice at a skatepark? 😂

Hi everybody! Amazing video! I’m 43 and decide skateboarding again after 25 years, thank you! I think is very important to know your own limit. But you must never give up! In my opinion, you must to do what makes you happy and realized. Skateboarding is life, it is a state of mind. Be safe, take care of yourself but always have fun! Regards from Brazil to you and to all people who has not afraid to get older!
i'm 51 and never skateboarded before. got a skateboard a few weeks ago, just want to be able to cruise around. i practice a couple of times each week and am getting more comfortable with it each time. scary at first, but really enjoying getting better at it
Thank you so much for this and all your videos! Just bought my second skateboard. I am skateboarding since three months. And I love it. Last week I became 54. Now I am sitting watching skate vids and havind a bad flu. All I can think is getting better and skate :)

That is awesome!
There's so many people prove that age is only a number and i admire them a lot 🔥🖤❤️💚💛
In the netherlands their is a whole new skatepark
Is it the one Skateboard Bruh made a video about?
@@blueberrybubbletea_ yeah
Sweet
It's insane
@@PHeMoX nice 🤙👍
Same man. After taking a few years off of skating i didnt expect my knees to hurt so much im only 24
Im 25 and trying to learn to skateboard, Its a weird age where people look at me and expect me to be able to skate but I can barely tictac without killing myself. dropped in off a ramp today for the first time and slammed a few times trying to get it. But seeing adults starting to learn to skateboard all over the place is really inspiring thanks for the awesome videos Aaron! Gonna definitely get myself a helmet and some pads before I try any of the ramps at the park again though that's for sure lol
I'm 46 and just started learning how to ride with my daughter. Thanks for speaking to us old farts!
Im 134 years old, i stared skateboreding when i was about 212 yo, i love all your videos ive been watching for about 5 minutes. Love you NORAA
I’m 23 and fractured my wrist. Was told I’ll probably get arthritis in my wrist but that’s something I can worry about later on.
U used to skate?
same i went to the park with a friend and could barely do anything
Broke my hip skating. It healed with 4 screws in it and I went back to skating 3 months later. Idk what my point is. Do what you have to do.
I’m turning 43 next month and I was inspired to assemble one again after seeing my old deck in storage. I haven’t skated for 26 years. I hope I can still pull off a couple of tricks!
Oh i remember this channel i used to always watch this when i never knew how to master an ollie
36 here also not skated since i was probably around 20.. recently bought a ladyatchtz tugboat cruiser.. i think i could still skate street if i wanted too .. but at my age man i just wanna ollie and do the occasional flip and slide while cruising the streets
last 3 years i been hitting fitness pretty hard, i have a 6pack, and very strong back and legs.. i ran over 3000miles over 3 years...
you are only as old as you let your body become..
i was talking to a 20 year old guy i work with he saw i was wearing a DC hoodie.. and he came up to me like "do you skate?" i was like "yeah man but not in a while"
he said "how old are you?"
i said i was 36
he was surprised thought i was a lot younger than i was ..
remember take care of yourselves. and you'll skate forever.
hitting the gym helps.. makes you much more agile.
i am 36 and in the best physical shape of my life.. i weigh the same as i did when i was 17 years old.. but i am much more muscular.
You need to make a video where you spend an entire session warming up and by the time you're finally ready to skate everyone else is ready to go and you're left sad and alone. :(
I’m 53 and just started skating again so excited about it
53 here. Out on my RipStik every day or two.
I'm 55 haven't been on a skateboard in 40 yrs. I just bought a new board yesterday. Excited to go for it. Thanks for the video. I'm in san jose
I'm 17 and my bones snap with literally any quick movement
40. I've skated on and off since 86. Now I skate 2-5 hours a day and feel great.
Can someone help me😅 I just got my skateboard since I wanted to find a hobby during quarantine and Idek where to start💀I don’t have any friends so how tf do I practice at a skatepark? 😂
Practice at home. Theres alot you can learn just in your parking lot.
Just ride around first and maybe try some hippie jump or nose pivots. Once you are comfortable on your board start learning ollies.
First practice learning how to skateboard at home then when u feel comfortable skateboarding then skateboard around the block
They have a playlist here called "How to Skate" i guess. Look for it ;)
Me E thanks!
I’m 37. I picked up a skateboard because I got tired of paying for parking at my new job. I’m super excited had my first skate today. Thank you for this video.
That is awesome!
Come to the netherlands
Yeah! And then to Germany 😁
I'm 44. Recently started skating again after some 25 years. I'm hooked.
Aaron’s showing is age talking about orange soda at McDonald’s lol rip hi-c
Wait... what happened to Hi-C?!?
@@Adam-M- McDonalds doesn't sell orange Hi-C anymore.... :(
It's in Cicis pizza & dollar stores .
They got pink lemonade hi c in tons of places it's even in Sam's club .
I'm 42 and am way better now than I was at 16 (Stopped at 17 and came back at 35). Ollies are still getting higher and am starting to land treflips. The key is to love it and keep doing it.
I'm 36 and just got back into it after 20 years. Your videos have been so helpful and motivating.
Waiting for the early squad comments LOL
Hi everybody! Amazing video! I’m 43 and decide skateboarding again after 25 years, thank you! I think is very important to know your own limit. But you must never give up! In my opinion, you must to do what makes you happy and realized. Skateboarding is life, it is a state of mind. Be safe, take care of yourself but always have fun! Regards from Brazil to you and to all people who has not afraid to get older!
guys guys tony hawk is old lets be honest

i'm 51 and never skateboarded before. got a skateboard a few weeks ago, just want to be able to cruise around. i practice a couple of times each week and am getting more comfortable with it each time. scary at first, but really enjoying getting better at it
That is awesome, cursing around and just getting around on the board is the best form of transportation
I am sad I can’t afford a skateboard 😭
That sucks
I was saving money for 9 months for my first skateboard
These a great tips... I turn 36 tomorrow and I skate on a daily. Skateboarding is life!
