His words are just so poetic. "On clear days, I can see that I'm a small and simple part of a big and complex ancient structure. In some mysterious way we are connected to each other. And we grow from that connection".
As expected he is not crazy nor a loner but a family guy who loves running and gives some amazing explanation of the world in as less words as possible. Gem

Videos involving mathematician always bring me back to my undergraduate training in Mathematics. One of the best times of my life. Pity that I am not tenacious enough in my course and become a mathematician. Through these videos, I can live my forgotten dreams through the live of these amazing mathematician while I continue in my path. Escapism, yes. But, hey, it helps me to find solace in my current life course.
The cinematography, the background score, the narration was very poignant. The one thing that stood out was the calming voice of professor June. It soothed my anxiety. My worries about my career, and my personal life vanished as I watched this video till the end. His outlook towards life has inspired me to find beauty in the simplest things in life.
Dear June Huh Congratulations for your fields medal distinction, thank you for your hard work and most important thank you for sharing with us your family life and your life perspective. You really inspired me to be a better person with my family and at Work.
Sometimes a random video in your feed can made your day and so this is! The way he narrated whole story is so soothing and mesmerizing... Being a maths teacher and poetry teller it's love to see the poetic form of a mathematican...
This is one of the best videos I've watched in my life. Thank you so much for sharing these thoughts with us, Mr. Huh. I wish you and your family health and happiness.

This is brilliant! In a world that is full of angst and anger it is a delight to listen to such a positive and modest personal commentary from this great (Fields Medal) mathematician - "I'm a small and simple part of a big and complex and ancient structure". Let's all take note!
What a lovely video full of unique, colorful, and insightful animations to go along with Professor Huh's narration... truly a stunning video and an interesting view into his and his family's life!

I really admire the fact that he being an ethnic Korean worked under the tutelage in the form of a good friend as well, of a Japanese maths professor who was also a fields medal recipient. All this despite ethnic tensions between Koreans and Japanese in the political realm. This is truly inspiring and more. :)

I think poetic imagination is very similar to mathematical imagination.
"If you think about something long enough, you cross that line of understanding."
"And then we repeat the whole thing. There is beauty in this repetition." The way he said it, the context, made this so heartwarming...
The beauty is in this…simple things done repeatedly. One Italian poet said that happiness is always the desire of what you already have….great person…
He is not just a good mathematician, but a truly good person as well.
June Huh has an interesting daily routine of running and Zen meditation. The groundedness, serenity and wisdom is coming through loud and clear.
