Winter Special Full Sleeve Umbrella Cut Baby Frock Cutting and Stitching | DIY Very Easy Baby Frock

Step 1: Materials Needed
• Fabric (soft woolen or velvet for the body and chiffon or georgette for the sleeves)
• Measuring tape
• Scissors
• Sewing machine
• Matching thread
• Pins
• Lining fabric (optional)
• Elastic for cuffs
Step 2: Cutting the Fabric
1. Body (Umbrella Cut): Take the fabric and fold it in half. Measure the baby’s chest circumference and decide the length of the frock. Draw the umbrella cut by marking the radius for the waist and length for the frock. Cut along the marked lines.
2. Sleeves: For the full-sleeve pattern, measure the length from the shoulder to wrist. Cut the sleeves with a slight puff by adding a little extra fabric width at the shoulder. Don’t forget to cut the ruffle for the sleeve ends.
3. Yoke (Top Bodice): Measure and cut the yoke (upper part) of the frock. This will include the chest width plus seam allowance.
Step 3: Sewing the Body
1. Sew the side seams of the umbrella-cut skirt part.
2. Attach the yoke to the skirt part, making sure the seams are neat.
Step 4: Sewing the Sleeves
1. For the sleeves, hem the edges and sew the ruffle to the sleeve ends.
2. Attach elastic inside the ruffle to create a gathered effect.
3. Sew the sleeves to the yoke. You can add extra ruffles at the shoulder area for a stylish look.
Step 5: Finishing Touches
1. Add a back closure using a zipper or buttons.
2. Finish all the raw edges and give the frock a neat look by ironing the seams.
