Mc33262 is a boost converter pwm ic, it gives very good ac line power factor and its efficiency is also very good which is about 98%, you will see in its datasheet, Figure 19 is the circuit diagram, in this the primary winding works for boosting, the secondary winding works to give vcc supply to the IC.
