Enjoy guys! Who got the lens guess right? P.s how clean is that BMPCC4K studio shot at the end with the 16-35? Might have to make that my normal setup...
If you shoot in dark nightclubs or dark concerts the 2.8 doesn't allow enough light to keep a shutter speed at 200 or above, the sigma 18-35 is the way to go and to keep the iso below 3200.
Totally agree. Sigma is great if you have no plans to upgrade to full frame. Made a video where I tried it out with a full frame body and it was just okay. BUT I have to say I loved that the Sigma had more background blur due to the wider aperture. I'm a wide aperture lover
Call me crazy but I like the canon more. IS there a "blur" on the sigma? When I look at your talking video at 7:27, the white letters on your t-shirt feel blurry. It looks much sharper with the canon at 7:41
The Sigma is currently around £600-700 ish (new) in the UK, where did you get yours? You buy used or new? Should mention used I have seen for £540 on MPB but that's about it.
Great video. I've been looking at that lens since you posted a video about it a while back with your 90D. Now that I have a 90D, it's my next buy (when I can find one). I was giving some thought to the canon lens, but you already had me leaning toward the Sigma. This video was a nice comparison.
Soo I have a BM 6k pro. Which out of the two lens would you recommend for videography and films. I’ve seen some around the exact same price so that isn’t a factor. I just can’t decided. Is the 2.8 a lot darker the sigmas 1.8?
Yeah man I did! Abbbsolutely love it. Such an amazing lens - haven’t covered it yet on the channel really but was thinking about doing a video on the holy trinity! So maybe I’ll do that? :)
This video was exactly what I was looking for. I'm using the Canon m50 and the Sigma would be better for me then the Canon lens. Thanks a ton for this great comparison Video of these two lenses. Keep up the good work. Cheers
@@Hehenixon Hey Nixon what's up?! I wanted a wide-angle lens and I was debating on which one to get. I originally was looking at 3 wide-angle lenses (Tamron, Sigma and Canon) but after looking at a couple of tube vids It was certain that now I'm only looking at 2 wide-angle lenses (Sigma and Canon). After watching tons of reviews and than this one I was sure about what I wanted. The Canon lens is awesome no doubt and I find the colors look a little better on the Canon but like he explained in his video, if you own and only own a crop sensor camera you should go for the Sigma. I only own a crop sensor camera and not (yet) looking to upgrade to a full sensor camera. Made the discussion real easy plus the price for a L series Canon lens is ridiculous. I've been using the Sigma for quite some time now and I am very very happy about the discussion I made. I can't tell you which one to get but I can say I am very happy with the Sigma lens. Take care of yourself.
@@RandyJRoss Hello Randy, hope you're having a good! Thank you so much for your detailed reasoning! And it definitely makes sense to get the sigma since you're not swapping to a full frame camera as of yet. Hope you like it! But for me, I'll prob get the canon lens as it is lighter
@@Hehenixon the weight is really a deal breaker, but I'm happy with the Sigma. I have a couple sigma lenses and I can not complain at all. Thanks hope you do the same. Stay save. 🤙🏼
good review!! I prefer canon16-35 all the way, why? because its compat, fas auto focus, quality, something very importan to me lightweight!! easy to use in gimbal or carry around
Hi Tom, hope you are doing good. If i had the budget i would always go with the canon 16-35mm. I do have the sigma art 50mm, which is a sharp lens, no doubt about that. But i guess sharpness is not always a must have. There is something with the art lens, when i take pictures the 50mm art, the look or character is so baked in the picture, that i dont feel like editing much. It looks like a final product. On the other hand the colors of canon look more pleasing and i feel i could color grade to my will. But hey, thanks for putting up this video 😊

Don’t bother buy a contact zeiss.

Yes this is an important difference between the two. Good shout!
Managed to get a sigma 18-35 f1.8 for my canon R7 for 230 gbp in pristine condition (just a scratch on the lens hood) :)

canon 24-105 ii vs Sigma 18 35 which one is sharp?
Been really thinking about that sigma lens. Even when asleep its all i can think of. Lol! Thank you for this review! 👌🏻
😝 Sometimes you just have to give in if you’re thinking about it that much! Really glad you enjoyed it :) it’s a great lens.
@@ItsTomRich My only concern about the sigma lens is the auto focus. I don't want to invest in something that isn't consistent

Yeah you can pick it up used for about £450 sometimes - I would recommend trying DigitalRev it’s pretty cheap on there!
