Scott Strauss NYPD ESU actually had severe problems with his lungs and has had several major surgeries, he says he’s just waiting for the day he gets sick. He has an obvious cough in all his interviews. But he’s happy for all the time he’s had, none of the rescue workers thought they were coming out of that hole. The actual hole was 30 feet+ deep and so small and horrific, you couldn’t actually film in the actual size, so it was made bigger for the movie. The movie is pretty much word for word what happened in real life. Will asking them to cut his leg off. Encroaching fired couldn’t be controlled at one point and the team was told to get out now, it was in danger of collapse or death by fire. Patty McGee actually told them to “go fuck themselves” when given the order to pull back and leave them. The rescuers knew the Sgt personally. They said if the hole collapses and will and John were killed, they were dying with them. Will was trapped for 13 hours and John 23 ish. The real guys actually make a cameo in the end of the movie. Oliver stone and Scott actually fought about the filming because Oliver stone kept asking “does this look right”, and Scott Strauss would say “it was much more horrific than that”. Oliver stone was pissed because if they made the hole any smaller, they wouldn’t be able to film it. So however horrific this movie is, it was ten times worse in real life. But the dialogue, wills vision of Jesus, all of that was word for word accurate according to Jimeno. Including Dominick’s last words. He said “don’t ever let anyone forget I died trying to save you guys”. And then asked the Sgt for a break, and he died like two feet from will, it looks much farther away in the movie
If you guys watch the National Geographic documentary on 9/11, they interviewed the people that were trapped, and those who found him. It’s a nice documentary but it really is hard to get through it without having to stop and contemplate the situation, your life and just how real people were impacted from this. No matter what you believe, what conspiracy theories anyone has, how any war or invasion was unjustifiable. No matter what it is. The fact remains innocent lives paid the highest price. First responders being crushed by bodies falling from the building. People jumping because they only have two ways of dying. Post 9/11 sickness like cancer. I hope these innocent lives are in peace and that their families are strong to get through it all
Yep, that's with any building along with interior stairwells.. Most people who made it to a stairwell on 9/11 but thought they'd be fine if they stayed there weren't exactly wrong in thinking that, I believe there was part of a stairwell left standing and a entire fire department crew was standing there safe and sound when the tower came down, I believe it was Ladder Company 6, they were on their way up and a woman needed help coming down and they were on the 8th floor when the buildings came down and the stairwell they were in (Stairwell B) was left standing.. The 6 firefighters and the woman lived and were considered survivors even though the woman they rescued later died in 2011.. :(

Will wanted his leg cut off so his sgt John could get out faster because he was in much worse shape than will. Even 20 years later John has open wounds and excruciating pain.
