Looking back at this video again, I am confused. The question you mention at 3:11 is not on the application. However this question is: Please briefly elaborate on one of your extracurricular activities or work experiences. (150 words) Also there is this question: Your intellectual life may extend beyond the academic requirements of your particular school. Please use the space below to list additional intellectual activities that you have not mentioned or detailed elsewhere in your application. These could include, but are not limited to, supervised or self-directed projects not done as school work, training experiences, online courses not run by your school, or summer academic or research programs not described elsewhere. (150 words) Do they want a LIST? or more of an essay as you described?
Hi Suzie, thanks for watching our video! As you can see, the activity prompt is identical. The one we provide offers more context, but the directions remain the same: "Please briefly elaborate on one of your extracurricular activities or work experiences. (150 words)" As far as the "intellectual activities" prompt is concerned, they are asking for a list - not an essay. Good luck with your applications!!
Thank you for this. But please, what about the question they ask international students? "How do you plan to use your education?" - 50 words, I believe.
Hi, I'm not sure whether you're correct about the prompt for Harvard's Rquired Supplement. The following is part of the optional Writing Supplement not Required Supplement: "The mission of Harvard College is to educate our students to be citizens and citizen-leaders for society. What would you do to contribute to the lives of your classmates in advancing this mission?" Please have a look at the following link for further clarification - appsupport.commonapp.org/ics/support/kbanswer.asp?deptID=33013&task=knowledge&questionID=4117&languageID
Hi Amir! Thanks so much for watching our video! As you can see on the page you linked to, the prompt, "Please briefly elaborate on one of your extracurricular activities or work experiences" is required. Back in the summer, Harvard offered a longer version of the prompt, but the ultimate question remains the same. We hope this helps! Good luck!!
