I guess people think this is a how-to video. This is a video of the authors life in his orchard, and a window into the things he does with his plants. I like this man’s videos.

It looks to me like the plum is infected with bacterial canker. That would explain all those sunken dead areas in the bark. Do you ever get gum oozing out of the tree?
The RHS has a good info sheet available on their website. Basically, three applications of copper fungicide from late summer through autumn are recommended. I'm assuming the copper has anti-bacterial properties as well as anti-fungal? Being a doctor, perhaps you'd know better than me...
I have had big problems with it here in Japan, affecting pretty much all stone fruit but particularly European plums. Now making a big effort to get it under control, and have removed and burnt the worst affected trees. The rest are getting the copper treatment.

Hello Stephen. We are located in Ontario Canada. We’re watching your videos religiously. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise. I grafted apple tree seedlings 1st of May this year. Not much has happened since then to the grafted scions. Should I be disappointed? I did everything ‘by the book’, so to speak..

Greetings from Nova Scotia Canada! Just finished planting 3 pear, 2 apple and 2 plum trees; all are 2 or 3 years old. I am very pleased with the roots of these trees so I am confident they will grow well. However, several have damaged branches probably due to wind and certainly don’t have a traditional shape starting out. My question would be how should I approach the pruning for the next few years?.
